Biography
Richard P. Lomurro is a trial attorney who specializes in criminal and DWI defense, as well as plaintiffs personal injury. He is one of two attorneys at the firm with a Masters of Law degree (LL.M) in Trial Advocacy. Mr. Lomurro’s practice is 100% litigation. Richard Lomurro has been selected to the Super Lawyer Rising Stars list for the past five years.
As the head of the Criminal and DWI Defense department, Mr. Lomurro has represented clients in Superior and Municipal Courts throughout New Jersey with charges including manslaughter, attempted murder, assault, drug and weapon offenses, restraining orders, domestic violence, shoplifting, theft, DWI and traffic tickets. He has handled thousands of cases involving both adult and juvenile clients.
As a Plaintiff’s Person Injury lawyer, Mr. Lomurro represents clients and their families who have suffered serious injury or death as the result of someone else’s negligence. His cases have included auto accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability and other civil actions. Although the majority Mr. Lomurro’s cases settle out of court, he has tried cases in front of juries to completion in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties.
Mr. Lomurro is an active member in professional organizations such as the Monmouth County Bar Association where he serves as a Trustee. He has lectured on Juvenile Law, Ethics, Criminal Law and Personal Injury Practice. Currently, Mr. Lomurro is in his third year as chair of the Juvenile Justice Committee in Monmouth County.
Giving back to the community has always been a large part in Mr. Lomurro’s life. He presently serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Western Monmouth County. He is a co-chair of the Lomurro Law Charitable Fund, which raises money for local families in need. He is also a committee member of the Tara Hansen Foundation which raises maternal health awareness across the Unites States.
