The circumstances were very complex and the details will take a long time to describe. But, I knew I had a big mess on my hands and I knew I needed a good lawyer. Its then I ca...me across Melvin’s reviews and decided to give him a call. He was easy to talk to and calmed my nerves by assuring me that we will win the case. Sure enough …we did!! He is exceptionally knowledgeable and knows the ins and outs of the court system. I am glad I made the decision to work with him and to represent me at the magistrate hearing. And the beauty of it all is that he got it dismissed without me having to say a word!! No doubt that I will be recommending him to all friends and family if they need legal representation!

I write this with great joy and a deep spirit of appreciation. As a semi-conservative person, i don't easily put much belief in most reviews i get to see online as there's so much fakes out there. So when the need arouse to look for a lawyer to help me deal with my traffic violations, i went thro...ugh series of reviews on different lawyers here on Avvo, but it was hard to settle for one until one of them stood out - and that was Attorney Melvin Alanson Heard. I reach out to him and right from the get-go, i could just naturally tell that we were going to get along well, he puts you at ease with a sounding assurance that he's got all the tools to earn you a good ending, and sure enough to his promise, indeed he did deliver. I called him at a time when in just a space of 4 months, i had got 3 citations (marked lanes violation, two for failing to stop/yield) all of which i consider them to be 'bad luck' as i'm a really careful driver. My driving record was on a tight line and with the nature of my job, everything was on the line as i have to drive to fulfill my work obligations. It was a mess. I was under tremendous stress over this. If it hasn't happened to you, don't wish! Mr Melvin gave me a ray of hope with his assurances (but hey, I've dealt with lawyers before so i was like, they do, right?), but what made my experience with him different was the length at which he went to prepare me for the hearings. No lawyer had given as much time and attention to a case as attorney Melvin did. The vibe he gave the case gave me really positive feelings of how things might go. It was my very first time that i appeared for a traffic hearing and never had to say a single word through out the only less than 10 minutes we spent before the magistrate. Keep in mind how dirty my record was at the time, and just like that, he just didn't stop winning. I love the guy!! He's so damn good at his trade. I'm an immigrant from Africa and i assured him that for as long as i still live here, he'll always be in my life as my attorney. Now, i can't go without crediting him on his humanly character. If only i could attach pictures here as proof, but on Feb 9, we had a really bad snowstorm that day and yes, the man still offered his availability to meet with me for some more preps, and as if that wasn't kind enough, here's when it gets ugly, he drove me in his car back to my car which i had parked in a public parking area, only to find that i forgot my lights on and the battery had drained out. Even though he had another client waiting, he stuck it out with me, helped me sign up on AAA (which i never before thought i would need) as i waited in his for help to arrive - which actually took a good amount of time. The man has a good heart, reasonable rates, never put you on a pedestal to pay up, very relatable and yes, through all my experience with him, that explains why i have gone to this extra length to give him a well-deserved review - if that's how i can show how grateful i am for what he did for me! I'm very thankful of him. Great guy, who doesn't even take himself too serious...thanks Melvin!!!

Melvin helped me beat a speeding ticket case. He is very personable, great to work with and is exceptional at what he does. He was easy to reach and was great at explaining the situation. He let me know my options and gave me a clear understanding of what the best course of action was. I couldn't hav...e been happier with the result.

This attorney goes the extra mile to make you feel like every detail matters and that he will do whatever it takes to fight your case and win. Again, he made me feel like I was family and that goes a long way in my book. I will definitely hire him again in the future if I ever get another traffic tic...ket. Thanks!
