Outcome: Court awarded plaintiff nothing

Description: Plaintiff brought lawsuit and initially talked of suing for $8 million. Plaintiff was claiming defendants had breached their fiduciary duties owed to the plaintiff as part of their relationship in a Russian-US joint venture. Case went to trial and after plaintiff spent about ten days putting on its case (and without our putting on our case), we asked the judge to rule in our favor and she did because we had managed to prove that plaintiff's expert was not credible and that because of that plaintiff would be unable to prove damages. The court even required plaintiff to pay approximately $70,000 of our attorneys' fees. Plaintiff has appealed and you can hear the oral argument on that appeal here:
