My primary practice areas are corporate/business law, employment law and related dispute resolution and general civil litigation. I have assisted clients who have businesses overseas (primarily Japan) as well as in the U.S. I also serve as outside general counsel to several companies and Consulate General of Japan in Seattle. In addition to my primary practice, I have represented clients with their divorce proceedings inclusive of issues of jurisdiction and the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspect of International Child Abduction. As Co-Founder and Board Chair of a nonprofit organization, International Families Justice Coalition, I help indigent immigrants for their family law issues.

I had the privilege of being represented by Naoko Inoue Shatz, a highly skilled civil litigator at Shatz Law Group PLLC. From the onset of our case, it was evident that we were up against a particularly challenging opposing counsel. Ms. Shatz approached the situation with a level of preparednes...

Naoko is a true advocate for her clients. She tries the hardest to come up with a solution that works best for her clients. She does not tell you what you want to hear to just make you feel better. She truly listens to her clients, but provides the realistic scenario and makes the best effort to...

Naoko is a tremendous client advocate. There is no one in the Seattle area that can approach her dedication and responsiveness. She is knowledgable, dependable and smart...just great professional representation.
"Naoko is an excellent litigation attorney. A zealous advocate for her clients and well respected in the legal community. Highly recommended lawyer."
"Naoko is great at relating to both Japanese and American businesses and in working with them to achieve their goals both here and abroad."
"Before I took on an international assignment in China, I was told: "International Business is like James Bond without the Gun." Of course this statement didn't make much sense until I commenced my post. Then I quickly realized that it means people will play on each others knowledge and lack thereof in international business every day of the week. As a result, it is extremely hard to determine the appropriate time to engage or refrain in a "shoot to kill." Well, Naoko is a superior marksman in the field of international business! She knows how to engage businesses in both the Japanese and U.S. business arenas for gain. In fact, I highly suspect that she is more deft at manuevering through Seattle's Japanese-American legal minefield than anyone else here! This is knowledge that can not be gained from books. Instead, the ability to understand and then explain cultural nuance comes with experience. Naoko has exactly that -- Experience."
"I endorse this lawyer. Personable.Professional. Astute. Great Mentor, very dedicated to her clients. Internationally minded beyond a line on the resume."
