Practice Area: Divorce / Separation
Outcome: The Court of Appeals Reversed Trial Court
Description: A husband was supposed to pay 60 months of alimony (spousal maintenance), and he only paid 48 months. The wife filed for contempt and the other 12 months, but the trial court twice denied her request and ruled in favor of the husband. We appealed on behalf of the wife and the court "reversed," which means that the wife won and the husband owes the money. He will be held in contempt and have to pay the spousal maintenance and attorney's fees to the wife. This decision came down in July, 2008.
