Mr. Pickard is an excellent choice for an attorney and I would highly recommend him. I enlisted Mr. Pickard's help in dealing with an evil landlord. He politely and quickly assisted me with top notch representation and has likely helped me avoid sleepless nights and migraine headaches stemming from the situation. Not to mention, I think it's strategically advantageous to have an attorney with a fancy office on 5th Ave. I have a few degrees in Consumer Science and like to think that I'm somewhat of a savvy consumer. With that in mind, believe me when I say that Troy Pickard is the attorney for you.

I hired Troy after waiting over a month and a half for my old landlords to return my security deposit. Two weeks after I hired troy, I received a check in the mail. Troy is an excellent lawyer, and very easy to talk to. I would definitely hire Troy again.

I had a recent incident with my landlords and was pushed to the limit. I decided it was time that they learned a valuable lesson about treating their tenants with respect for breaking the law. I hired Troy and was very happy with the overall outcome of the situation. He was very professional and respected me and my partner. He was very clear with us how everything would happen and worked extremely hard to conquer what needed to be taken care of. He was diligent every step of the way and never stopped updating us. In the end he made us feel dignified and well taken care of. I would highly recommend Troy for any landlord disputes you find yourself in.

Troy is very good. My former landlord lived in an alternate reality where he felt entitled take our money and threaten us, and Troy took him to town. I appreciate how personable and professional he is. I trust his advice and practice. He gave us realistic expectations and got results. I'd definitely work with him again.

Troy successfully represented me against the house manager and landlord of the space where I used to rent a room. I'm italian and obviously the language barrier and the differences with the laws from my country encouraged the landlord to take advantage of the situation. They were holding my security deposit, claiming damage in the house that I didn't make and exaggerating the bills from the last month. My case wasn't really lucrative for Troy, but he took it, asking just a small fee to cover the expensive of the case. That doesn't means that he was negligent . He always took the time to listen to my concerns, and we met several times outside of his office in a location more accessible for me, and he did a good job of explaining each step of the process. I highly recommend Troy Pickard to anyone that wants a knowledgeable and honest attorney.

Troy works harder than expected to get fantastic results. I was being stiff armed by a former employer on some wage issues and Troy stepped in and handed them a convincing argument, complete with legal precedence to back up my claim. His communication skills on the progress of my case was always clear, constant, and precise. In the end, I walked away getting everything that I went into the case expecting plus some extra that I would have missed without his expert help. Highly recommend Portland Defender and Troy!

I contacted Troy last year when my landlord wouldn't return my deposit. I met with Troy once and discussed the issue with him. After our meeting I was confident that he was going to take care of everything in a timely manner. I was very pleased with his work ethics. He kept me informed of all the steps he was taking in the process. My landlord decided to settle out of court. I got my deposite back within a few weeks of hiring Troy. This year, a friend of mine is having landlord/tenant issues and I refered my friend to Tory with confidence.
Gives lawyers a good name.

Troy represented me and my mother against a landlord who was withholding our security deposit, my mom is on SSI and I am a student with very little money, he took our case with no money upfront and kept us informed, I never had to wonder where he was or what he was doing, like some attorney's I've worked with. He gave our case the proper attention and I attribute that to the successful outcome of our case. I misunderstood the fee agreement and once the case settled he agreed to take less than he should have received to do the work for our case because he wanted to be fair. That act of decency left me and my mom speechless, Troy gives me faith that all the bad stuff you hear about lawyers isn't true. I highly recommend this attorney, he really does care about his clients.
