I am an attorney dedicated to criminal defense.

I understand that facing criminal charges is a frightening and stressful experience, not only for the person charged, but also for families and loved ones. Selecting the right lawyer is an important decision. You need a honest, loyal, and dependable advocate that will guide you through the criminal justice system, explain your options, provide sound legal advice, and aggressively fight for your liberty and protect your rights in a court of law. That is where I come in. I will LISTEN to your side of the story, INVESTIGATE the facts of the incident and the witnesses involved, ADVISE you of your legal rights and options for fighting back, and DEFEND you against the government in a court of law.

Excellent, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, put my mind at ease
When my son got in trouble in Portland over spring break, I was 2000 miles away. The charges against him were serious. He was a senior in college and I was scared to death the repercussions were going to ruin his future. I searched online and made several phone calls to other attorneys and read so many reviews on attorneys. In this situation, I wanted to pick the best, but I was unsure whether I could trust the reviews. Some of the attorneys made me even more scared. Peter Castleberry was so different, he calmed me down and assured me he would make everything alright. One year later, I am happy to say he did exactly what he promised. Do not hesitate to use his services if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation to need them.

Talented Lawyer - Excellent Result Orientation
Peter Castleberry knows how to interact with the Oregon criminal justice system. I made a few poor choices at a Strip Club one evening and found myself in jail. After a friend referred me, I contacted Peter Castleberry and after briefing him on the stituation retained him to represent me in this matter. He wasted no time engaging the necessary resources to get available evidence and began discussions with the other parties. His knowledge of how things work in criminal matters was key in securing a favorable result. He was able to talk with all parties to resolve the matter without a conviction. He followed up afterward to ensure the record was sealed. I feel that I was wel served and would recommend Peter without hesitation.

Free again
It is most difficult to be the center of unwanted attention. After an unfortunate encounter early one morning I found myself in that very position. I was judiciously informed that I would need a lawyer, sooner rather than later. An internet search for my specific needs revealed Mr. Castleberry. A phone call, several email communications, a financial deposit and, although unknown to me at the time, my predicament was in the capable hands of an expert. My situation looked very grim and without Pete's services it could have turned out quite differently but here it is a little over a year later, and I am a free man with no strings attached. Although there were some hoops to jump through to detach those strings I am no worse for wear. I would not hesitate to recommend Pete to anyone. Although I never met him in person, I do know that the services he provided was worth every penny and more and it could have been so, so much worse. Thanks Pete.

Theft 2 representation
I found Pete to be very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, kind and felt that he would give me the best representation that I deserve and expect. When I was looking for a attorney, Pete was the first one to actively try to help me, do to the short time element I had to work with, when I was contacting attorney's for representation. I very much appreciated this, as I'd never been in this situation before and didn't know what to do. Pete was very kind and led me through all the steps that we would have to go through. Pete made it as easy on me as possible as I lived out of Town. I would whole heartidly recommend Pete to anyone and will If a friend every needs a attorney in Portland, Oregon.

Made me feel as good as possible about an unfortunate situation.
He handled everything well. I went into a second DUI and had many concerns...Pete was great with not only helping me understand everything, but being willing to fight for me. I hope I never have to call him again, but if I do, I won't go elsewhere.

Professional and Attentive
No one likes to get wrapped up any any kind of legal trouble. It can feel degrading and frankly can be a bit scary. Pete did a great job of making an uncomfortable situation be as painless as possible. He made sure I completely understood my situation and rights. Pete presented me with all my options and was willing to go the extra mile and support my decisions. He gave me his absolute attention during court appearances. While other people were deciding what they were going to do in the hallway before entering court room, we had a precise plan of action which was always delivered with the upmost sense of professionalism. I would highly recommend Pete to anyone in need of his services.

Extraordinary
Pete is an amazing man who was there for me in a cinch. I was arrested and required to be in court seven hours after being released. Pete answered the phone at 6:30am and promised to be there for me in court. He made things simple and easy, and then took me back to his office and eased some of my worries. Although I'm not sure whether or not I'll retain him at this point, he is an amazing, amazing man and I owe him so much. Please consider making him your lawyer! You won't be sorry.

Great lawyer
Before now I had never needed a lawyer and didn't really know what to expect from one or how to pic one. Now that I'm through this ordeal I can say that Pete is an outstanding attorney who went out of his way to get what I needed out of the case. I liked how he kept me informed on what was going on and the route I should take he definitely had my best interest in mind. I really like that now that court is over any problems I have I can call him and he is still willing to help all the way out to setting a date for a request for early termination of probation. I would recommend Pete Castleberry to anyone outstanding lawyer who will help you through the entire process and get the most favorable outcome possible.

Representation from Pete Castleberry
I used Mr. Castleberry to file a firearms restoration petition in Oregon. I was referred to him by a top Oregon law enforcement official in Oregon. Mr. Castleberry had never handled a request quite like mine. But his ability to adapt and learn the specifics of my situation was invaluable. In the end my objective was achieved. The price was fair and I felt he was always personally in touch with me in our professional relationship. and would highly recommend him

Menacing (Misdemeanor) in Oregon
I was charged with menacing because of a confrontation I had with a cyclist (non-physical) who was threatening me. I threatened him back by pulling out a knife that I kept in my car for precisely such incidents. He called the cops and it was his word vs. mine. Because I had brandished the knife I was charged and he was not. After I was processed, the next day I called Mr Castleberry. He was very professional and well-informed on case law for menacing in Oregon for first time offenders like myself. he laid out how he thought the process would go. Basically, I would probably have to settle with the victim for a agreed-upon amount of money and the charges would likely be dismissed without a trial. After the settlement was completed, that is exactly what happened and I was very satisfied with the result. I am now working with him to get my records sealed and expunged. This was a very agonizing process for me as I had never been arrested or charged with anything before this. Mr. Castleberry and his partner Emily Elison made this process a LOT easier by being very reassuring and informative about what needed to happen and when. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone facing a menacing charge or other criminal charges.

Best Lawyer I Have Ever Worked With
I have worked with many different lawyers in my day and I have to say Pete stands out as the best. He went WAY above and beyond for me, was very responsive and most importantly resolved my issue painlessly. This guy is worth his weight in gold. If you are in need of a lawyer in his practice areas HIRE THIS GUY, HE IS THE BEST.

Pete Castleberry Endorsement
Pete handled my case with utmost care and professionalism. From my initial retaining of him, he was diligently on the case and maintained constant contact throughout. He explained every word of legalese in all documents and told me exactly what to expect at my court hearings so that there would be no curve balls. Above all, Pete is compassionate and listened to everything I had to say; he was reassuring while being realistic. While I hope I don't have to be in a situation to recommend Pete's legal services, I would do so readily. He is a thorough, communicative and caring attorney.

Very Glad I Chose Peter
Peter helped me through my first (and hopefully last) experience with the Justice System. I was arrested on DUI, and had absolutely no idea what to do next. Peter made sure I was thoroughly prepared for each step in the court process, and made me feel comfortable enough to ask all of the questions I had along the way. He was on-time for every appointment and every court date, more than I can say for anyone I know that's ever had a court-appointed attorney. Peter was very worth the investment, and will be my first call if I ever find myself in a similar situation.

Great Lawyer
Better than any court appointed attorney. He set me up for success, and helped any way possible. I retained him a month or so into the trial process, and it made a huge difference. He helped me get into treatment, and made a huge difference in the outcome of the sentence. He kept me out of trouble, during the ordeal, as well as in any future incidences with just a little advice. Amazing results to say the least. I was looking at 4 felonies and several misdemeanors. I emerged with probation, treatment, and none of the felonies are going to be on my record. Definitely worth having in your arsenal in any case.

Your Partner, Your Proctor and Your Proponent!
Pete Castleberry represented me on a DUII with a Reckless Driving charge. I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome, and the piece of mind he and Emily Elison afforded me throughout the process was invaluable. Even their user-friendly website is the very best out there, offering a wealth of candid information. I can't tell you how many times I'd be searching the internet for information on Oregon's DUII laws, the diversion process, UA's, license hearings, etc., and about 80% of the time I would find myself routed back to my own attorney's website for whatever info or advice I was searching for! Pete ensured that my charges would be dropped, my license did not get suspended, and he was always available whenever I had a question or concern. Before I walked into Pete's office I was experiencing incredible shame and anxiety…when I walked out I felt as if I had a partner, a proponent and a plan. He made a very difficult and scary situation as simple and painless as it could possibly be.

Review of Pete Castleberry
Pete is a great Lawyer and an all around just great guy. He's compassionate as he is logical. He walked me through the whole process of arraignment and other court preceding's. Court is scary enough your first time through - I'm glad Pete was there to pretty much 'hold my hand.' He knew the whole thing shook me up too and would make himself available for me to call him on the telephone when I was freaking out and would talk me down. Most importantly I suppose he got me the best possible outcome from my trial I could hope for and I am grateful to him. I get a second chance at life now.

Without a doubt, I would use Mr. Castleberry's services again.
Mr. Castleberry was a great advocate for me when I needed support. He provided the knowledge for me in layman's terms and gave me the choices to decide for myself.

Castleberry is the law firm you want!
Even though my case has yet to reach it's final outcome I saw this and wanted to add my say. Regardless of what happens i will feel lucky that I settled on Pete and Emily as my lawyers. Pete has handled it the most, though both are fantastically competent. I was so freaked out at my drug charges, never had any before, and he has helped me to deal with the stress and anxiety of all this. That alone was worth hiring him. I have great hope that it will all work our well for me but whatever happens I know he has done, and will do, all anyone could. He doesn't just try to find the fastest and most standard route, but the route that suits you as an individual. I also feel he doesn't sugar coat anything and he tries hard, he accepts my decisions and works his hardest. You just sense he is a sharp guy and well liked by his peers. I have felt the whole time that I am grateful to find this firm and Pete is my guy!

Motivated, knowledgable and compassionate are a few adjectives.
I had searched around before I found Pete through a friend and I am real glad that I had waited. I was charged with 7 dv counts and got them reduced and/or thrown out. He helped me get through this tough time in my life and from this I have become a better person. Between Pete and Emily I was well reassured and greatly helped that I could honestly and whole heartedly recommend them to anyone without question.
