I hired Christina after I was discriminated against by my employer while I was pregnant. I lost my job and hired her when I decided to file a law suit against them. Her firm is very professional and she was very sympathetic to my situation and helped
me reach a settlement with my previous employer. They were by my side through the whole process. I contacted many lawyers when I decided I wanted to sue and Christina Stephenson was the best person for the job when it came to understanding what I went through. They have a very nice office downtown as well! Highly recommend.
I hired Christina Stephenson and Michael Owens as a team to represent me in an employment dispute. Life is certainly not fair and not every dispute requires legal intervention, but when it does the fallout is typically ugly.
When I first hired Christina and Michael to look into a Whistleblower retaliation claim, I was reeling from the aftershocks and uncertainty of an unfair termination just days before Christmas. Would I lose my house? Would I be able to afford to keep my child in school? How would I regain my confidence that I could find a job where I wouldn't be punished for trying to do the right thing? This isn't the state of mind from which a person typically has the presence to right a wrong or set the record straight and the law provides some remedy, but on a pretty tight timeline.
Christina and Michael both took the time needed to listen, understand the case, and sort the legal issues involved from perception and emotion. They were able to help me understand the difference between what is illegal and what is unfair and to direct me to seek the appropriate remedies for each.
When it came to what was illegal, they were perceptive, smart, organized and thorough in their review and presentation of the facts. When it came to what was unfair, they respectfully listened, but also encouraged me to continue seeking the remedy of time and introspection to heal.
In this way they were skillful advocates. Knowing that they were capably handling the legal arguments related to my values of transparency, efficiency and accountability allowed me to shore up my life, make sure my child and home were safe and to process what had happened.
Prior to ever pursuing a legal remedy for a dispute, I would caution anyone to ask if your values compel you to spend years reliving something unfair and disruptive to your life. If the conclusion you reach says, "I couldn't live with myself if I didn't do this," then you would be lucky to have the professional, capable and kind representation of Christina Stephenson and Michael Owens.

Outstanding Employment Attorney
Christina and her team were excellent. Great communication and follow through. She helped me navigate what could have been a challenging issue and did so with thoughtful consideration to my current and future employment as well. I'm very pleased with her assistance and the result.

Exceeded my greatest expectations
Christina Stephenson was referred to me by another attorney for a wage claim. When I met with Christina, she was very compassionate about my situation, but also very professional and knowledgeable. Because of her expertise in employment law she recovered ALL the wages due me AND maximum penalty allowed by law in a very short time. Not everyone who is treated unfairly/illegally get to see justice prevail - but I did, thanks to Christina. I would (and will) recommend Christina to anyone in the Hillsboro/Portland area in need of an employment attorney.
