If you're facing a drinking charge, don't shop around, call Mark immediately.
Mark Thiessen leaves nothing in the bullpen, he approaches every aspect of a case and tries to visualize angles that the defense may use. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable in the realm of DWI/DUI cases, he's extremely personable and doesn't throw around so much legal jargon that you're head is left spinning after a meeting. Mark will do everything in his power to help you out; his goal is to get you something you're comfortable with and doesn't settle for less. He demands honesty and respect, and returns the favor. Possibly one of his greatest assets is that he's created a reputation and rapport with many colleagues and uses that to his advantage. His confidence can sometimes be a little zealous, but it motivates him at the same time.
Being charged with a Felony Intox Assault with a deadly weapon (and looking at 10 years felony probation or 4 years in prison) was a terrifying experience. I was referred to Mark by an attorney friend who had heard him lecture, calling Mark was the best decision I made. Mark fought hard for me; in the midst of a Judge/DA turnover, a summer full of drunk driving cases, and amounting issues with the complaining party, Mark was able to successfully have charges reduced to a misdemeanor DWI and 2 years probation, a feat even the Judge was impressed by.
Mark entered as a lawyer, but quickly made it into the ranks of friend. He has my highest recommendation and I will be sending any friends who experience the nightmare of a drunk driving case his way.

In 2012, I was charged with DUI. The arrest did not involve any material evidence of unsafe driving nor did it involve an accident. Unfortunately, the breathalyzer indicated a .09 alcohol content. I hired a reputable Houston attorney, but he gave me little hope of winning the case. After more than six months of resets and reminders that it was going to be a tough case to win, I did some research and hired Mark Thiessen. Because of Mark's expertise, diligence and attention to detail, the case was ultimately dismissed due to lack of evidence.

Mr. Thiessen fought every step of the way to ensure justice would prevail. Despite all the adversity from the unprofessionalism from the Harris County court two, Mark didn't quit fighting for me.
I would highly recommend Mr. Thiessen and his associates to anyone looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney.

I am embarrassed to say that I got arrested for DUI (no accidents) on 2 occasions in the last 2 1/2 years. The first one was for .08 BAC and like an idiot, i submitted to the field sobriety test and breathalizer. At that time i engaged a very high profile DUI firm in Houston and they assigned the case to one of their associates, Mark Thiessen. My first instinct was to enter a guily plea due to the extra costs of going to trial. However, Mark convinced me to go forward to trial and the ultimately the case was dismissed just days before trial!!
Two years later i got pulled over again and refused the field tests. I was forced to give a blood test by court order and BAC was .10. Obviously i called Mark Thiessen again and now he has his own firm. Once again I was hesitant to go trial due to the extra costs involved and once again Mark convinced me to to go to trial. The day of trial Mark got the case dismissed again!!! I wont go into the details, but what he did was both genius and gutsy. I also have a feeling that the DA's office both loves Mark and fears going to trial against him, given his record of trial experience and continuing education.
So for me, Mark Thiessen is "two for two". Perfect batting average and obviolusly i would highly recommend his firm to anyone. I would also advise anyone to follow his advice if and when it is to go to trial. If i would have plead guilty to both of those charges, i would like lbe in jail right now.
One bit of advice for anyone who is fortunate enough to get a DUI case dismissed......spend the money to immiediately get the DUI expunged (remove) from your record.

Mark was great, he is the kind of attorney that you dream of. He and his staff were helpful, attentive, knowledgeable, and very professional. He, along with his team, were there for me in every sense of the word. I truly felt like they cared about me and my well-being. Mark was outstanding in court, from the jury selection all the way to the closing arguments. He is very smart and was able to challenge the science of the prosecution's expert witness just on cross examination. He has the charisma needed to win over jurors, but also the professionalism needed to maintain the highest of standards. If you want to win your case and you want the peace of mind knowing that you are in good hands, Mark is your guy. He is relentless in his approach and will ensure you are represented fully. I would recommend Mark Thiessen everyday.

Our daughter was arrested for felony DWI with child, and all she had done was stop to render aid to a drunken driver who had overturned her car. When the ambulance had taken the driver of the overturned car to the hospital, the attending officer arrested our daughter on suspension of driving drunk herself ( which she wasn't). Mr Thiessen was successful in getting a no bill from the Grand Jury. Had this not have happened my daughter could have been sentenced to three years in the correctional facility and her life would have been ruined. We will be eternally grateful to Mr Thiessen for his knowledge and ability to correct this horrific error.
Thank God for Mark Thiessen!!!

Often times we hear about how Micheal Jordan or Tom Brady just have/had that "IT" factor. In the sporting world the "IT" factor will win you games and championships. In the work world the "IT" factor will earn you praise, money, pretty girls/or guys if that’s your preference and MONEY..... When it comes to the LAW and the "IT" factor; it can mean your freedom or justice. We often take our freedoms for granted and find ourselves on the other side of the law. In that case we have to rely on a lawyer to defend our rights when we or someone else violates our freedoms. In my case, my freedom was violated when an intoxicated group of people decided to gang up on me at a house party in what I would consider a nice part of Houston. Never would I have thought that I would have to defend my freedom and safety in a situation that didn't seem threatening. Unfortunately when people drink too much and over indulge themselves in liquid courage anything is possible. Being attacked from behind with verbal and physical assault, I had to defend myself and make split second decisions. So I ended up having to punch my attacker several times while being attacked by his group of friends. People got hurt, by the grace of GOD I was able to escape the carnage to live another day. Without knowing who attacked me or anyone else at the party other than the few people I came with. I had no idea who to mention when I called the cops to file a police report. Six month after the altercation I was issued a warrant for my arrest from the person who attcked me. Now most people would wonder how that is possible. I sure did!. I wondered how I could be attacked and assaulted by several people just to be the one the cops or the law came after. The person who I defended myself against investigated me on facebook and was able to file charges against me. Great idea when you think about it right? Well I didn't have a clue who anyone was and when I tried to find out no one seemed to know who this group of people were....... So who do you call in this situation??? Someone you trust? Someone who will fight for your rights? Someone who understands the results of the loss of Freedom and what it can do to your family? Someone who will go up against all the odds and take on a challenge that most lawyers wouldn't even touch? Someone who you can count on in the clutch? Someone who when the chips are stacked up against you will fight tooth and nail for you? Last but most importantly has the "IT' Factor!!! If you want to know the answer, just call Mark Thiessen!... That’s who I called and wouldn't have had it any other way. My case took about 2 years to finally resolve. Mark's advice was spot on and every step he took was a step in the right direction. When at some points I would question his judgment, his knowledge would turn to be more prophetic. During Trial he operated the courtroom with charisma and respect. His ability to connect with the Jury on a personal level was amazing! Throughout the entire process I always felt Mark had my back, and in my heart and mind knew I had the right person defending myself. Mark is said to be a up and coming lawyer amongst his peers. In my mind he is already worthy of being considered one of the Big Guns in this town. You don’t go to war without your gun, so why take a BB Gun when you can take the biggest and baddest gun you can find!

Mark worked on my case very recently and I was very impress with his work ethic, how professional he was and how hard he would work for a client. I would definitely refer him to anyone because he is not your typical lawyer that goes for your money but instead cares about his client. Thank you Mark for getting me a second chance in life. I owe you for everything that you did for me and because of you my ex-fiancé and I are friends again............

This was the first time I've ever been in trouble with the law (DWI). A friend recommended Mr. Thiessen to me so I gave him a call to discuss my case. He gave me his personal cell phone number and told me if I had any questions to call him day or night!! I thought, "Is this guy for real, he cares that much about his clients that he gives us his personal number?" He allowed me to pay his fees in installments and I was never rushed or pressured to make payments. Being this was my first time ever being in trouble with the law, I had no idea what to expect. Mr. Thiessen was so calming and kept telling me that everything was going to be ok and that he would fight for me until the end. He was able to get my case dismissed and the dark clouds hanging over me was suddenly replaced by sunny skies. Don't think twice about hiring Mr. Thiessen, it will be the best decision your ever going to make.

Mark was very courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very direct and forward about handling my case. He seemed to interact very well with the judge and the DA's and you could tell they all respected him. He was not afraid to stand up for me and if need be go to trial. In the end he persevered and we won our case. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone that truly needs a top notch attorney. He has helped many of my friends and a family member out too all with favorable results.

Upon receiving a DWI and no prior arrests, I was in complete panic mode when going through the process of finding a lawyer. I discovered Mark Thiessen through a family friend, and he completely took me under his wing. For lack of better words. Mark Thiessen was a 'no bs' and genuine person. He managed to work quickly and efficiently, doing everything he can with my best interest in mind.

Mark is a great attorney and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a great defense. Mark knew all the procedures, took time to memorize jurors by name and highlighted all the mistakes in the arrest. Mark cares about his clients and puts forth 110% in the courtroom.

I owe Mark Thiessen allot after what he did for me. He's a pitbull of a lawyer. Mark fought for me from the beginning and all the way through my slip ups. Mark knows how, and will get you the best possible option there is. I know this because I sat in the court room as he relentlessly took on the Assistant DA and the judge, not backing down for 5 solid full minutes until he had worked out what I wanted as his client. Mark Thiessen isn't lazy, nor does he hide behind fancy jargon, nor will he quit.

Ok for those out there looking for a lawyer that will actually go to bat for you and cares about you the client, Mark is your man. I got arrested for a DWI after failing all the feild sobriety test and blew almost twice the legal limit according to the breathalyzer . Being that i have to drive a company truck for a living and was facing drastic negative finacial and career reprocusions , Mark steped up to the plate and somehow convinced the DA to drop the DWI charges for a lower traffic violation which i had to pay a fine for. In other words, Mark is the man when it comes to getting your case dropped! I already recommended a family member to him and will continue to recommend him. Don't try and save a few dollars using a lawyer that won't do anything for you. You really get what you pay for and my money was well spent. Thank you Mark . I Hope to never have to use your services again but, if I need to ,I won't hesitate to call you.

I was introduced to Attorney Mark Thiessen by two very trustworthy loyal people that I know. Upon my initial meeting with him I was extremely upset. As I explained my case he listened carefully and made me feel comforted. The odds were stacked up against me. I was pulled over for no headlights. There were three videos, sobriety tests were failed, and there was blood work. In the videos my headlights were on not off, my sobriety tests were not on any of them, and I looked fine. My blood work came back .15, but he proved the chain of custody had been broken due to the fact that the RN who drew the blood was not documented. The DA new Attorney Mark Thiessen had been beating blood work cases a lot lately. He has proven that all science is not infallible therefore blood work cases are not an open shut case like many of us have come to believe. I noticed a change in demeanor of the court officials when Attorney Mark Thiessen walked into the court room. He is highly respected in the court room. I was very pleased on his presentation throughout my case. Any questions I had, he had an answer. If I called and left a message he was prompt on getting back with me. He was very prepared for my case. He carries a powerful love for his clients and his work. Attorney Mark Thiessen is an understanding, confident, highly respected, aggressive, and tenacious young attorney. I have witnessed first hand despite what the prosecutors had alleged the justice system being put to work. I am a free woman thanks to Attorney Mark Thiessen.

I am just getting home after a 4 month dragged out 2cd DWI case that has been dismissed. My decision to choose Mark Thiessen has obviously paid off but if you are reading this you will most likely be either going through your case, determining a possible lawyer, or wondering how the hell is he so good.
I have learned more then I like about Judicial process as I come from a business background. I am am educated, 29 years old, working professional, about to apply for MBA programs next year. I consider myself average in relation to most 29 years old - I am not making millions and really just in the middle class. However, my decision to choose Mark was more about protecting my reputation, increasing my odds in court, and not having to go through the same pains I did when I was convicted 7 years ago of my first DWI in college. My 1st DWI tape was so bad I couldn't get my DWI dismissed, and being charged for a second you know kind of what to do after a stop which helped my case. This time I cooperated with the police officer, but did not take a breath or blood which is important. The fact that I had a skull fracture last year and told the police officer that on tape yet he only did the HGN and did not do the WAT or one legged stand was important.
But, more importantly was my representation in noticing my strengths of my case, having the experience, reputation, to get dismissal. Mark won my ALR even though a police officer showed up which happens really rarely. Through a lot of readings online I read somewhere that 93% of the time a cop shows up to the ALR you lose. Because they only need to prove they followed procedure. Other lawyers say its a coin toss or 65% loss if they show up. The fact of the matter it is never good when they show up to ALR unless you can lock in there testimony. That can win your criminal case, but the fact that he locked in the cops testimony, won my ALR, and got my case dismissed is impressive. It isn't by luck, or chance, Mark knows the law, knows when the DA has a weak case, and has a reputation of winning HARD cases. So, if your case is in a grey area with Mark on your side the DA is much more likely to dismissed when faced against a good DWI lawyer. I got a lucky break, but my decision to choose Mark is going to pay dividends for years to come.
The first time the cop didn't show to my ALR and Mark tried to get it thrown out but couldn't. The second time he showed up but Mark questioned him on the stop and the cop testified I swerved out of my lane. However, in the police report and the tape said I failed to signal lane change.
Mark locked his testimony down which was really 1 of the 2 things left the DA had. 1 being me slurring all over tape and bad driving at 4:30AM on a Sunday morning, and lastly the cop testimony. During the ALR the Administrative Judge agreed that there was insufficient evidence to detain me to arrest me just for HGN. The police officer pulled me over, I cooperated, did HGN, and then he arrested me. He did not offer me breath, blood, or to do any other tests. When I was detained he wanted me to do the walk the line test but after realizing if I wouldn't be let go if I'd passed I decided not to take any tests.
So, the DA essentially had tape with me slurring, a cop testimony. Mark had medical records (skull fracture, medications (even though they didn't play a part), and a sleep study where I was prescribed a CPAP machine. This all sounds ridiculous and is absolutely ridiculous that the charges of 2cd DWI are so steep so being pulled over I already knew I had to submit everything I could find to Mark.
I also paid him upfront so while he was in court he never had to worry about not getting paid.
By not losing the ALR, I avoided having restricted driving hours for 2 years. By winning my criminal case I avoided $1,500 surcharge for 3 years, 1-2K in court fines, $2,700 in probation, interlock, DWI, SR-22, and increased ins. cost the next yea

Was pulled over for running a red light and had a few beers with dinner/golf and the cop asked me to get out. That is never a cool feeling, but I felt I was fine and under the limit easily. The cop did the "normal" stuff when smelling alcohol and took me to jail when I was basically fine, but legally over the limit. The officer told me that he thought I was fine, and that it was just a formality (taking me to jail). He even told me he would personally take me back to my truck if I blew under. So that gave me a reason to blow, otherwise I would not have blown.... Mark saw this and grilled him on the stand in my ALR hearing. I lost my ALR hearing, but I just lost my DL for three months. But as a result of the cop's testimony Mr. Thiessen was able to get the case dismissed.
I interviewed one other lawyer and he just seemed like he wanted to just go ahead and accept the DIVERT program. Mark said that was going to be there if he couldn't win it. I was happy with my choice to pick a lawyer that was willing to fight my case, and not just take my money and tell me the DIVERT program was the best I could do.
Excellent attorney and a man too. Was easy to get a hold to and gave me his personal cell number and was able to contact him on the weekend if I had any questions. Gave his card to all my friends that drink.

I was accused by my own wife. It was a painful incident happened in my life. She said to the police that I was threatening to kill her and beaten her. She did this to be because she was looking for lot of money from me and I couldn’t give her the money. She was so bad that she even made proofs with the doctors. There was witness from Doctors and nurses and even some voice recordings. She allowed the doctors and nurses even to record our loud conversions. There were lot of accuses on me and the case was very strong. But in front of Mark nothing can stand.
I had just two resets and the time. The first one was just a day adjustment and the next one was just 2 weeks. On the second reset, I went to the court and heard shocking news. My wife again called the court and said that I was threatening her again. This created huge complications. Because of this they gave the reset after 4 months. I am a frequent traveler to other countries and I was worried. On the very same day Mark comforted me with his words. He said ‘just keep quiet and wait for 10 days, I will get this dismissed’. I really believed him because he says and does what will really happen. It was just seven days later I heard from Mark that he has my dismissal in hand and no convictions. It was a big surprise that he did it in a lightning speed. With all my heart I thank you Mark.
You cannot compare anybody with Mr.Mark. The way he handled the case was really great. He knows the tricks, tact tics and he is really great in his profession. I suggest when you are in a real problem you definitely need Mark with you.

I was facing DWI charges and needed to act quickly. I wanted an excellent attorney. Mark Theissen was recommended to me and he proved to be the best choice. I would highly recommend him to anyone in this situation. He is well known in the Harris County legal system with a great reputation for winning. He made sure I was able to explore all the available options. In my case we were able to get the case dismissed without having to plea. My record will be expunged completely. I couldn't have asked for a better situation.

I was arrested for DWI. I didn't take the breath test but they did take my blood under "no refusal." This is a scary situation and most lawyers would not even consider taking a blood case. Mark didn't hesitate. He promised me that he would fight it until the very end and he made good on it. He was very accessible and approachable. Every time I would worry or wonder what was going on with my case, he had the answers. Every time the odds were stacked against me, Mark was there to battle it out. My case ran for about nine months until it was finally dismissed. Through those nine months I was able to see a lot of different lawyers with their clients. None of them were as sharp as Mark. While they were making bogus plea deals, Mark was fighting for me. I would recommend this man to represent me or anyone I know. He knows what he's doing and he's just the best there is. He's a great attorney as well as a stand up guy. Trust in Mark!

I had a difficult DWI case against me that could have potentially turned into a felony case. After several meetings with different lawyers I met with Mark and noticed he was much more knowledgeable and aggressive about my case. Without hesitation I decided to hire him to represent me, and from that point I could sleep a lot easier at night. He was able end my case in a positive result and was available 24/7 by giving me his cellphone number, guiding me through every step of my case, showing that he cares about my case as if it was his own. The respect he gets inside the courtroom is incredible, and his record speaks for its self.

Mark has represented me two times now. The first time I was pulled over and charged with possesion of marijuanna, driving with a suspended license, and possesion of a weapon (large hunting knife). The possesion of marijuanna and driving with a suspended license charges were dropped. I took the possesion of a weapon charge and recieved a fine. Mark made this happen quickly and pain free. The judge even joked about what a deal I was getting. I was not suppose to be carrying a weapon due to a felony conviction years prior (wish Mark was around then). My most recent trip to court was this month. I had been charged with a DWI and things were not looking good to me. A minor accident was involved luckily with no injuries. I thought my goose was cooked! Mark was calm and confident explaining to me that it wasnt the end of the world and the case wasnt a done deal. The confidence Mark had in himself and my case helped me to feel comfortable enough to have the courage to reject the plea offer and take my case to trial. I was very nervous and didnt know what to expect. Mark was very good about keeping me informed every step of the way. When my trial day finally came Mark appeared and within 15 minutes of speaking with the other parties involved including a witness, the prosecution, and the DA my case was dismissed. DISMISSED! I was amazed. I hope Ive learned my lesson and will keep my nose clean. If for some reason I mess up I know exactly who to turn to for council. Mark Thiessen.

I am in my late forties and was in a bit of legal trouble for the first time in my life. It is a very stressful time for somebody who is going thru this first time. First the arrest then going through the booking process and finally spending 8-9 hours waiting to be released. Once I got out I started my research on what to do to minimize the impact. My charge was failure to ID to a police officer (a class B misdemeanor - lets just say I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and when an officer showed up i panicked and did not want to give my ID in front of people who were being questioned for possession of drugs.
Anyway i got a few references of lawyers and started going and meeting the lawyers and also doing internet research on them as well as on my pending charge.
Since this was my first offense - i was hopeful that I would qualify for either pretrial intervention program or deferred adjudication with a very slim outside chance of outright dismissal.
From my internet research I was able to gather that Mark was an outstanding lawyer and his reviews were excellent but mostly in the area of DWI.
All the lawyers I met were setting me up for the first two outcomes mentioned above and nobody wanted to entertain the possibility of outright dismissal. When I met Mark I was instantly impressed. He heard my account of the event, got very candid account of the events out of me by making me feel comfortable. He then gave a very detailed idea of what the approach and strategy he was going to employ. He also let me know that there were a few unknowns (the offense report being one) based on which he will tweak his strategy on game day. I was sold and signed up.
On the court day – As per strategy Mark came is very late when all other dockets were done. Being a Friday Mark likes to dress in funky clothes which he calls his fun day clothes. Everybody in the court know this and looks forward to him making an appearance. Having been through a lot of trials most of which he ends up winning he knows all the DA and court staff. He had the best presence of all the lawyer that I saw in the court ( and I had an opportunity to see them all since Mark came at the end). He is also well respected in the court.
We went over the offense report and Mark immediately decided that he was going to go for an outright dismissal. I was a still not sure if this will work but he went in to talk to the ADA and then DA and convinced them that it was not worth their time to fight this one. I believe that part of this comes from the fact that everybody know Mark’s reputation for being a tough aggressive lawyer not afraid to go to trial for his clients. I was ecstatic at the outcome whereby not only was the charge dismissed but also I would not have to go through probation for a year or more and then having to wait to get my record sealed or expunged. I am now eligible for immediate filing for expungement proceedings which will remove all traces of my arrest and my court date.
Mark was the most expensive of all the lawyers that I talked to but he was worth every penny. When you really need somebody to defend you I recommend you go hire Mark Thiessen. I will keep his contact handy for the rest of my life.

I was pulled over driving home one evening after a game and was subsequently charged with a DWI. A friend of mine referred me to Mark so I called to set up an initial consultation.
At the first meeting Mark was friendly and anxious to dive into the details of my case. He was also just as passionate about obtaining a dismissal as I was through and including trial, but was also open and forthcoming about what some of my other options were (probation, etc.) in order to take care of this depending on what my needs were.
Mark appeared at every single court appearance I was scheduled for, (something that people would assume is standard but trust me, this is not always the case).
Unlike some attorneys I've dealt with he was always available, and responded promptly to calls and emails, quick communication was easy and helped tremendously when It came to dealing with this DWI charge.
As the process unfolded and facts stemming from my stop and arrest came to light he was professional, and upfront about the pro's and con's of the facts as they pertained to my case and how they limited or helped my case.
At my ALR hearing for my driver's license his cross examination led to the administrative judge ruling in my favor, allowing me to keep my drivers license, which was a huge relief. Furthermore, the recorded testimony from this hearing helped directly with obtaining a complete dismissal of the DWI charges against me.
This means that I can expunge not only my arrest record, but also my driving record leaving me once again with a clean record.
I deal with lawyers on a professional level, as well as having many as friends, and they are not all created equal. Mark's professionalism, and enthusiasm for the work that he does made a difficult and uncomfortable situation a little easier to deal with.
The outcome of my case was, without a doubt the best result I could have hoped for, and Mark was instrumental in making that happen.

I had just moved to Houston, was driving downtown, and accidentally turned the wrong way down a one way street. Subsequently, I was pulled over asked to take a breathalyzer test. As it was a no refusal weekend, I agreed, and unfortunately blew a 0.18. Mark was recommended to me as a lawyer who intimately understood Texas' legal system and knew how to exercise shortcomings in State regulations. Mark intensively investigated my case and found inherent problems with the testing methodology utilized by Houston PD to obtain my breathalyzer test results. Ultimately, my case was dismissed. Mark was persistent, patient and extremely well informed. His dedication to his job and justice was second to none. I would recommend him to anyone.

I can't say enough good things about Mark. He strode into court like he owned the place, and with as expertly as he handled things he might as well have. It was a great feeling knowing that he was on my side. He is the ultimate lawyer and the only weapon you need if you're in trouble - he looks the part, acts the part, has no fear in doing what needs to be done for you, and deserves your complete trust and confidence. He's also an incredibly nice guy, and will treat you like you've been friends for years even if you've only just met.
Mark was able to speed up the process and get me the best outcome possible. He made a painful situation a lot better. I would recommend Mark to anyone and everyone I know who needs a lawyer.
You can't beat the service he gives and the results he produces. He is second to none in the knowledge he brings to your case and his ability to get things done. I have had some experiences with lawyers in the past that I did not trust and did not feel confident to have representing me. They treated me like a case number, and didn’t seem to care at all about the outcome of my case – when it was the most important thing to me and my future. That was never an issue with Mark. Mark will fight for you as if he's fighting for himself. I will never use another attorney. I really can’t say enough good things about him. He’s the best!

Mark Thiessen is aggressive, responsive and reliable. My case was handled with confidence and finesse. He was able to access my situation with exceptional understanding of the law and the ability to target favorable details and advantages specific to my case. I could not be more satisfied with my decision to hire Mark.

As like with most, I've been pulled over for speeding, etc., but nothing as serious as like being arrested for DWI, especially when I wasn’t even driving when it happened! So you can imagine that I was scared out of my mind and was a total nervous wreck because I had no idea what was going on. I had just finished dinner with my best friend and her husband after being diagnosed with a serious illness. I had a couple of drinks at dinner not thinking of what the effect of the new medicine that I was just prescribed would have on me. Well, come to find out, it made me so sick that I had to pull into and park at an empty lot because I felt like I was going to vomit all over myself. As I parked my car and was opening the door to do so, there were cops pointing their flashlights at me. I’m sure you can pretty much figure out what happened afterwards. At any rate, I was referred to Mark by a really good friend of mine. When I met with Mark, he asked me what had happened so I went through everything with him, after which he told me to let him do what he is best at – fighting for his clients and what I should be expecting in the coming months. I was agonizing over the whole ordeal because I was told by many of my friends who had hire lawyers for similar situations not being able to contact their attorney and always being left out of the loop, etc. If you are an anxious person who is always worried about something (as an old friend of mine would always say I was), then Mark is your man! He was always available by phone, text, email and always responded to all of my questions quickly. To be honest, I was very shocked to hear back from him even when he was at his Jujutsu practice so promptly. At every court date, the DA kept telling Mark that they would not dismiss my case. And since I know that I did not do anything wrong other than pulling over to get off the road so I don’t hurt anyone while trying to keep from vomiting all over myself, I told Mark, after careful thought and consideration and with the faith in Mark's competence in the back of my head, I was not going to take a plea and told him I wanted to go to trial. He said, great, that’s what I’m best at. We had a few more court resets after that. Finally at my last court appearance, Mark came to me and said lets go talk outside, at which time, he told me that the DA had decided to dismiss my case. I totally believe it was Mark's persistence and his strong commitment to his clients that got my case dismissed! When all of this started, I was told that my first step was to hire a lawyer. I did my research and eventually narrowed down my choices to two lawyers, both of which were referred to me by very good and close friends. But given Mark’s track record of being one of the best DWI lawyers in Harris County, even though it was tough decision between my two close friends' referrals, I chose to go with him. He put me at ease from day one and even though I was still scared and skeptical throughout my case, he and his great assistant made me feel secure every time I talked to them. I have recommended Mark to all my friends and family. I hope they (nor I again) will ever need his services, but if we do, I have no doubt he will take care of us! I had been waiting on my ALR hearing and was just told that it was also dismissed!! Thank you Mark!

I inquired about Mark's services because he was highly recommended to me by a friend. Mark was extremely helpful from the very beginning in explaining the legal process and what to expect. It was obvious that Mark was very well respected in the courtroom. My was case eventually dismissed and I couldn't have been happier with the decision to hire Mr. Thiessen.

Mark did an outstanding job from start to finish in my case. After being arrested, I had court 24 hours later. I called Mark the day I was released and he was in court with me the next day. My case was not an easy one due to what was on my record previously. To begin with I ended up in Felony court when I should have been in a lesser court. Mark got that fixed immediately and had my case assigned to the proper court. Secondly, the arresting officer in the case convinced me to blow at the station. I blew a 0.18. When I heard the number that night I knew I had screwed up. That being said, Mark took my case from Felony court with a breath sample of 0.18 and got my case completely DISMISSED. Nothing on my record at all.
Mark was prompt in court and responsive to all my calls and emails. He made the whole situation very simple and told me exactly what I needed to do and gave perfect advice throughout the process.
I would recommend Mark for any defense needs you may have.

I am a 20 something profession who got in over my head with a DWI arrest. Mark supported me throughout the whole process and ended up getting my case dismissed. Without him I would have had to put my life on hold but he went above and beyond to see that I could continue with my future plans and not have this on my record. I thouroughly reccomend him.

I made the mistake of driving the wrong way on a one way after a few drinks in downtown Houston. Mark was able to win my license revoction hearing then got my cased dismissed. While doing this, I made another huge mistake and got arrested again in Anahuac where Mark was able to gain a dismissal as well. He pulled two miracles out and represented me extremely well. I highly recommend him!

You probably came across this site the same way I did, by frantically searching for someone who will help you or your loved one out of an unfortunate circumstance. You found the person that will do just that. We originally hired a different lawyer who we knew of but after a couple of months it became clear that he did not specialize in DWI cases. After some research and several phone calls we found Mark Thiessen. After the first telephone conversation with Mark, my husband said “this is the guy I want representing meâ€. He was even more convinced after we met Mark in his office. My husband’s English is not great and I asked him if he was sure that he didn’t want a Spanish speaking attorney. He said “noâ€. If you happen to be going through this it is a frustrating experience. You’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but it feels more like you’re guilty until you can prove yourself innocent or creatively weasel your way out of it. It is a game and you want the best player on your team, Mark is that player. He knows the law, he knows the ins and outs of the breathalyzer machine, he knows the people in the court room, he was very dedicated to helping us and he listened to what we had to say. He never promised us a dismissal, after all, this was my husband’s second DWI (the first one was in 1999), and even though he looked great on the video during the field sobriety test his breath test was .13, but that is exactly what we got MOTION TO DISMISS! Thank you Mark for all you did, we are so grateful.

I was pulled over on my way home on January 23, 2011 for running a red light. I had a few drinks earlier that night which I admitted to. I was then arrested and charged with a DWI. At the station I was given a field sobriety test that was videotaped. Also I was given a breath test using the intoxilyzer 5000. I blew a .169 and .172 (that’s over twice the legal limit).
After plenty of research I found Mark Thiessen's name coming up more and more often. I went for a consultation and explained to him my story. I explained to Mr. Thiessen that my life and career depended solely on this judgment. After hearing that I was a disabled veteran, due to an injury that occurred while I was in Iraq, he stood up and shook my hand stating "You Fought For Me, Now Let Me Fight For You".
Here it is December 6, 2011 and its my turn to write a review for Mr. Thiessen. I just finished my trial today. It was a long drawn out fight. The DA wouldn't throughout the case even though Mr.Thiessen showed them every hole in their case. The DA and the judge were completely against us, but Mark Thiessen only got more pissed off. Every witness that came to the stand was ripped apart by Mr. Thiessen. Not one moment went by that I saw him sweat. Then the moment came when he was about to tear their case apart. The DA ran to the judge with his tail between his legs and asked for a dismissal. They saw ahead of time Mr. Thiessen’s plan to shred their case and backed down. If it wasn’t for Mr.Thiessen's motivation and dedication to my case, I would have never won this case.
He is not like normal lawyers. The first day he gave his cell number to call anytime, and while we were at the courthouse other lawyers wait in line to ask him a question in reference to their cases. Everywhere he went people (other lawyers) talk about him and how awesome he is in court.
When leaving his office today I asked him if he remembered our first meeting (consultation) when I told him what kind of lawyer I’m looking for. I was looking for a lawyer that I needed to take to court with a chain and collar to hold him back from tearing the prosecutor apart. Now that I think about it, if I ever go to court with him again I’m bringing a bigger chain.

Mark was recommended to me by a trusted friend that works in the court system. I called his cell phone, which he gives out freely and is rare for a lawyer to do, and within minutes of talking to him he had me feeling much more at ease about my situation. I had a face to face appointment with him just a few days later where he was very thorough in explaining his plan as well as answering all of my questions in a manner that I could understand. Having worked with Mark for over a year now, and having hired him to help me on additional legal matters, I am extremely comfortable recommending Mark to my family, friends, and others. From the moment I spoke with Mark he gave me the sense of comfort that I needed, has made himself easily accessible, and has proven himself extremely talented in the court room. Mark not only knows his “stuff†but also cares. Mark is on my speed dial and is my first call when it comes to legal matters. Thanks Mark for all of your help. You have been a blessing.

I got pulled over while leaving a bar on Washington Ave, by a DWI Task Force Cop that followed me 8 blocks from the bar until pulling me over. This was my first time ever getting into trouble and I had a clean record without even a speeding ticket. He never turned on his lights so the cameras never began recording. He gave me the Sobriety Field Test and I refused to blow. He arrested me and no blood test was ever given nor did I blow. So, all the state had was my word against the cops and my "failed" sobriety test.
I heard of Mark through a friend that stated many people had used him and won their case. I decided to hire him as my lawyer and I am very glad that I chose him. Mark fought long and hard to dismiss my case due to lack of evidence. The DA kept saying they would not dismiss. After getting admitted to the DIVERT program I still felt like I did nothing wrong and did not care to go thru basically a year of probation, so after careful thought and consideration and the faith in Mark's ability to win this case slam dunk I decided to take the case to trial. At noon the day before my trial was supposed to begin I got a call from Mark stating that the DA had decided to dismiss the case for lack of evidence. I totally believe it was Mark's persistance and great passion for what he does and also his strong commitment to his clients were the reasons that I got my case dismissed. He is a FANTASTIC lawyer and if I ever get into trouble again there is no doubt that I will use him again. I also will refer him to anybody that gets into trouble.

I was charged with a DWI and resisting arrest in December of 2010 at which time I knew I had to hire an attorney. After meeting with several attorneys, I hired Mark Thiessen. He seemed sharp and very knowledgeable. My funds were limited and he assured me that he would work with me financially. He knows the law and the judicial system well. He went above and beyond to get my case resolved in a timely manner with an excellent outcome. Mark was a true professional throughout the process. I am very grateful for his dedication and patience throughout my case. I would highly recommend him should you find yourself in a similar situation. Thanks Mark!

July of 2011, After drinking at a bar in Washington avenue in Houston, I went to jail for drinking and driving. I called and talked to my friends about who I should hire as my attorney. Two of my friends referred me to Mark Thiessen. Then I did my research about Mark, and I read really good reviews about him. At this point, I still wasn't sure.. and I was very nervous because I have never got involved in any incidents like this in the past.
I went to his office, sat down and talked to him for about 30mins or so. After talking to him in his office, it made me feel much more relaxed and I decided to hire him to fight for me in my DWI case.
Whatever you read on here, is very true!! I did my research for few days because I didn't know who I wanted to hire to fight for my case. I'm so glad that I have decided to hire Mark as my attorney. He knows pretty much everyone in the courtroom. He's very knowledgeable and he will inform you every details about what is going on through out your case.
After 3months, here I am writing a review about Mark because I just walked out of courtroom about an hour ago and my case was DISMISSED! I'm 26 years old, and I really did not want this DWI on my record. It's the best feeling ever!! I would recommend Mark to anyone that I know. Let him fight for you. THANK YOU MARK!!

When I was arrested for a DWI I was scared out of my mind, having flashes of everything I have worked so hard for vanishing in an instant. I was referred to Mark by a good friend of mine and let me tell you from the first meeting I was not disappointed. Mark explained clearly what the plan was and what I could expect in the coming months. I was told by many of my friends who have been in similar situations the horror stories of not being able to contact your lawyer and being left out of the loop until minutes before court. If you are a worrier like me look no further than Mark, he is available by phone, text and email and always responded to any of my questions quickly. To be honest I was very shocked to hear back from him so promptly considering how busy his schedule is but he was always there when I had questions. Mark took very good care of me and once the case is over he still is there to help with any questions you may have. If you are in trouble you need some to fight for you, not just take the easy road out and move on to the next case. Look no further than Mark you will not be disappointed having him on your side.

This was my first time getting arrested, I've been pulled over for speeding tickets and minor things like that but nothing as serious as this. As you can imagine I was scared out of my mind and a complete nervous wreck.
First step was to hire a lawyer. I did my research and eventually narrowed down my choices to 4 lawyers. Out of those 4, Mark was the only one that called me back within 24 hours of leaving a message. I did hear back from the other lawyers but none of them made me feel like I mattered. I wanted to make sure I hired the best and from the moment I spoke to Mark I knew it was him. He put me at ease and made me feel secure about my case.
Next step was my ALR Hearing. I was 100% positive my license was going to be suspended due to my refusal of a breath test, so you can imagine the wonderful surprise and relief I felt when I was notified that Mark won my case.
Finally there was my DWI case. From the very first court date I knew I made the right choice. Mark's presence in a court room is one of a kind, he is very confident, charming, professional and just owns the room as soon as he walks in. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome of my case.
I have recommended Mark to all my friends and family. I hope they never need his services but if they do, I have no doubt he will take care of them. THANK YOU MARK!

My case created lots of work for Mark. my girlfriend accused me of choking her. The local pd chose to listen to her, and filed a temporary restraining order on me. I gave Mark my story, he outlined a plan of attack-- and I immediately went out and violated the TRO- against his advice !! We worked together-proved that her neck was scared in her teens and I did not choke her. Mark took my panicked calls at night and while in court. He is very reassuring and extremely professional. I hope I never need him again, but its nice to know I have him in my corner.

I was arrested for DWI several hours after my Mom's funeral. I did have several glasses of wine so, who knows, I could have hit the .08 limit. My court date was 7 days later.
Mark was referred to me by a friend and from the moment I heard his voice, I knew I was in good hands and all would be okay. (I was in a rather emotional state since the arrest occurred on the day I buried my Mom.)
I was due in criminal court 7 days later. Mark answered all my calls "on the spot" - even realizing he was likely receiving a call from someone who was totally "freaking out" and crying most of the time.
Most importantly, he absolutely knew his craft and informed me every step of the way what to expect and the options before me. Mark got me in and out of criminal court within 30 minutes - my criminal case was dismissed.
Next step – Dismissing the civil matter, (ALR Hearing), for refusing a blood or breath test. Mark attended my ALR hearing where I was sure my license would be suspended due to my constant refusals to a blood or breath test. Mark attended the ALR hearing; I was not even required to go. Mark told me, "do not worry; I will take care of everything." And by God, he did! Mark rang me and told me "I was golden." My driver’s license had not been suspended! I could not believe it!
Do I have Mark's number on speed dial? You bet! Would I tell someone or anyone to call him if they were in any type of trouble? You bet!
I was one of the lucky ones. I actually retained a lawyer with such high integrity, knowledge and an unwavering tenacity to fight for his clients. I truly wish everyone who happens to make a mistake and/or get into trouble had instant access to Mark. If there was any way I could make that happen, I certainly would.
A loyal client to the end of my life

Mark Thiessen is an outstanding attorney. Mark defended my case with gusto, and showed sincere passion when pleading my case to the jury. He is however, a busy lawyer, and handles a lot of cases, so he didn't always inform me of what was going on with my case in a timely manor; yet, Mark more than made up for that in the courtroom, as he systematically dismantled the prosecutor's case against me - bringing the jury to conclude a "not guilty" verdict.

I hired Mark to represent me in one of the worst times of my life. I was so scared and didn't know what to expect. He put me at ease, made himself available to all my questions and was relentless in his pursuit to fight my case. If he didn't get a favorable settlement in my case then he was ready to take it to trial. Why not when I have nothing to lose? That is when you know your attorney is looking out for your best interests. My case will be dismissed soon, and I highly suggest hiring Mark Thiessen. I hope I never have to hire a lawyer again, but if I do, without a doubt, it will be Mark.

Mark is a remarkable attorney who works with his client diligently and listens to all my concerns. He worked on my case and gave me the confidence that I will get the best judgement in my favor. He never asked me to plead and take whatever the DAs offered. He kept fighting for me and eventually got my case dismissed. Mark has a very remarkable presence in the court room and he is very impressive in dealing with DAs. He has through knowledge of Texas Laws and he reviewed my case throughly and discussed all the possible options with me in details and based on the evidence reviewed by him, he told me that we will certainly have the best chance to win and we did. He gives so much personal attention to all the details and even answered my calls on the weekends when I contacted him on his cell phone. After first meeting and first court date I was sure that I got the best attorney representing my case. I will sure recommend Mark to anyone who needs help in Texas courts for criminal defense. He was always there for me on every court date on time. I have witnessed other attorneys in the court and Mark Thiessen stands out among them with his superior personality and his knowledge. He is the best you can find in Texas.

I got my first DWI in November. I was scared out of my mind. Once I talked to Mr. Thiessen i felt at ease. He makes you feel secure by giving you his cell phone number and by answering your calls, even if they're not during business hours. He is very charming and lights up the court room the minute he walks in! Seriously, the D.A. and the judge were both smiling and carrying casual conversation with him about his vacations, wife, etc. He has great relationships in every corner of the court room. Trust me, this is the guy you want ! By the way, my case was DISMISSED !! =) =)=)

So this was my second dwi, drunk as a skunk. When pulled over finally after 2miles(lol) 3 sheriffs and a state trooper were there to say hello. Fell asleep several times on cops camera, failed sobriety test on camera. When I found out I was facing 2yrs, worried. When I would see Mark Thiessen walk into court room and put his charm to work, priceless. My case dismissed. Get to spend time with family and eating great instead of bologna sandwiches and inmates. THANK YOU Mark Thiessen!!
Under this says how long did I use, yes only 1-6months. Though his # is saved in my phone. This is defense a it's best and I would want no one else to represent me. I will continue to take my business to him. When you are sober and see yourself on video it is hilarious!!! lol

I was referred to Mark by a mutual friiend- Mark met with me, heard my side of the situation and took my case-- He manuvered through the legal machine in Harris county and kept me informed through it all- Mark often took my calls after regular business hours-and was always attentitive and showed genuine concern for me !!-- Mark never steered me wrong and was always truthful about the situation--he never made false promises or claims--
Mark is by far the best attorney I have ever used !

I was referred to Mark by a friend who Mark had also taken great care of. I spoke with 4 different lawyers and not only did Mark have the most resonable price, best referrals; but he also put my mind at ease from the beginning. Great guy! I felt like I could tell him the truth which in embarrassing situations like a DWI/DUI, I feel like trust in your lawyer is crucial!! A DWI/DUI case can drag and be very stressful and Mark continuously promised me good results and came through. Not only did I learn a life long lesson from this but I know who to refer if anyone I know EVER has to deal with what I went through. I felt like a priority to him and I could never thank him enough for saving my future!

In the process of interviewing top Houston lawyers to handle my second DWI charge, I came across Mark. During our initial consultation, his attention to detail and honest interest in my case, made me confident to choose him as my attorney. It was the most important decision in my life as I was facing mandatory jail time and deportation if found guilty. Once Mark took upon my case he was able to see all inconsistencies and errors in the evidence brought against me by the prosecution. Not only that, but he worked very hard in gathering the important information for my case by visiting the site of the incident and interviewing all the people involved in the case. This prepared me with enough confidence to go to trial. From the opening statement, he strategically prepared the jury to pin point the lack of evidence and holes in the State case against me. His charisma, professionalism, audacity, eloquence and excellent presentation skills during trial guided the jury to follow the law and come with a “no guilty” verdict. I will never forget my trail date; the day Mark allowed justice to prevail. If you are looking for an honest, knoweldable and aggressive lawyer to fight for your rights, Mark is definitely the person to accomplish the job.

If it wasn't for Mark I would still be in the slammer today and probably another 2 years. I have never been against so many odds yet still slept well at night because I knew that Mark had my back. He has gotten me off twice and gotten my 10 referrals (friends) off also. That is a 1000% batting average. If you need someone to step up to the plate for you and defend you like he is defending himself, Mark will hit that homerun everytime.

Unlike so many of the other lawyers I met with who seemed to only say what I wanted to hear, Mark told me, "I can't promise you an outcome. What I can promise you is my experience and how hard I'll work for you." True to his word, Mark worked tirelessly on my case, which I knew to be one of his easiest cases at the time. Even considering it was an easy case, Mark never slowed down and never backed off. He came at my case with the tenacity of a prizefighter, and (judging from the other stories) I'm not the only one. He always took the time to explain everything that was happening to someone like me, who is a complete stranger to the legal system. Bottom line: if you are unfortunate enough to be going through a DUI/DWI case, you need this man on your team. Mark, all I can say is, "thank you, thank you, thank you." You were not only knowledgeable and tenacious, but you were also personable at a time that wasn't the easiest.

I had been charged with a DUI when I was in college almost 13 years ago so you can understand why I was a nervous wreck when I was arrested for my second one. The arrest wasn't the worst part either! I had had an accident that evening and damaged some property as well. I knew I was in trouble and I needed an attorney. I knew of Mark's reputation of being one the best up and coming DUI lawyers in Houston but I still thought I didn't have a chance in hell. I was wrong as 5 months later, I received a " Not Guilty" verdict and it was like it never happened. Mark's words from the very beginning were" You paid me so let me do what I do best"... and that is kick butt in the courtroom. Mark is not only extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the DUI law but he is a natural in the courtroom. You can't help but like him whether you are a judge, jury member or even a district attorney. I had never been to trial before and I felt extremely confident with him on my side. I was recommended to him by a friend and I would definitely recommend him to any friend, a family member or even a complete stranger because he is that good.

I had the unfortunate luck to be pulled over and arrested for DWI on a very windy evening. The entire process was obscure to me, since I had never had any legal troubles before. I contacted Mark's Office and he handled my case very effectively and efficiently. I knew what to expect and was confident that the case would be resolved in my best interest. In fact my case was dismissed. While no-one wants to have to pay for a wrong arrest and court proceedings, Mark's fee was not high for the circumstance. Additionally he gave me his cell phone number and was responsive to calls, messages, and texts.

Mark Thiessen is one of the most responsive and knowledgeable DWI attorneys in Houston and will absolutely do what needs to be done to get the job done! The first time I met Mark was the day after my DWI when he met me at his office (on a Saturday morning) on extremely short notice. He had prior personal engagements that day as well as the following week/weekend and not only was he always available to me - night or day (sorry, Mark : ) ) - but, as I had never been through anything like this before, was extremely patient, understanding and informative. I met with multiple (five) attorneys prior to hiring Mark and chose him primarily because he was the one that ALL five knew and respected. Now that all is said and done I simply could not imagine having gone through this with anyone else. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but the personal level of care and availability that he offers and his "get it done" attitude are truly not only something that one in this situation would hope for in an attorney but that really make such a difference when going through something like this (on one of my court dates he had EIGHT clients in different courts and still found time to spend time with me after). I just can't say enough - thank you so much, Mark for all you did for me - I just can't even find words to describe how grateful I am for all you did!

With out a doubt if you experience the misfortune of a DWI Mark Thiessen is the best. Until your actually in the court watching Lawyers working the system and interacting with the Judge and District Attorney's its obvious who the man with all the talent is. I literally felt sorry for the other people who had other attorneys. In my line of work knowing people is my Job. Body language and simples gesture tell a lot about ones character, integrity, and charisma. It's also obvious the Judge and District attorney like dealing with Mark based on their body language and gestures. He was very organized and never missed a beat. Everything he told me happened. There was very little I had to do on my part with his take the Bull by the Horns" approach to the way he conducts business. I highly respect him and would hire him again in the future.

Mark Thiessen is simply the best DUI/DWI attorney in all of Texas. I was back in college about to graduate when I got pulled over twice for DWI's in consecutive months. Nowadays I think of the consequences that could have incurred if it had not been for Mark Thiessen being my lawyer. He reviewed both of my cases with a keen eye and found errors in each one, and both were dismissed before ever going to trial! If you have a DWI or DUI I would say going with Mark Thiessen as your attorney should be the easiest decision you will ever make. He is trustworthy, highly respected amongst his peers, and will try 110 percent to clear your name. There really should be no thought about it, HIRE MARK THIESSEN AS YOUR ATTORNEY TODAY and your fuuture will be brighter tomorrow!

ATTORNEY THIESSEN GOT BOTH OF MY DWI CASES DISMISSED AND MY LICENSE WAS NEVER SUSPENDED. AS A SOON TO BE FEDERAL AGENT, WITHOUT ATTORNEY THIESSEN HANDLING MY CASE, I KNOW UNEQUIVOCALY, THAT I COULD NOT MAKE THAT CLAIM.

When I was charged a couple of years ago with a DWI, I was so scared and confused. Fortunately, some former clients of Mark and his firm had already experienced a high success rate utilizing their services so it was an easy decision for me to make when I decided to hire Mark. He knew what he was doing and he kept me from worrying. He always answered any questions I had. I highly recommend Mark Thiessen.

Mark represented me in my case and was awarded a not guilty verdict. Mark is not only a great attorney, but also a good friend and classmate. He handled my case with the upmost integrity and pursued the prosecution with diligence from start to finish. His uncanny ability to read and relate to the jury and make sure the truth comes out is truly remarkable. I believe that Mark is one of the best DUI attorneys in the city and has a long and bright future!

Mark Thiessen represented me in my 2007 DWI case.
It was my second; and I refused to answer questions or perform any roadside tests, which meant I had a tough road ahead of me.
I initially went with a different attorney, but a good friend suggested I speak to Mark and hear his take on the case.
After listening to Mark explain his strategy with such knowledge and confidence; I was sold and made the change to have him represent me.
Mark’s courtroom demeanor and personality are unmatched. Mark’s close working relationship with the courts is an immense asset for him.
After several resets, Mark found an error in the officer’s report and had my case dismissed.
Mark’s high-win percentage, as recently reported in the Houston Press, speaks for itself.
I have, and will continue to recommend Mark to my friends and others who have had to deal with this unfortunate situation.
If you’ve been arrested for DWI, there really is no one else to call.

Anyone reading about lawyers should want to know the results first. Mark Thiessen took on a case that was beset with difficulties all along the way and got a dismissal.
That's a home run once charges are filed.
When bad luck struck, I already knew the lawfirm I would contact: T & M was successful in dismissing three friends' DWIs (3 for 3) so their reputation preceded them.
Lawyers monitor and evaluate the progress of their fellow law firms and peers vigilantly. Yet still, some of the details of progression of the individual lawyer can be easily overlooked under the shadow of the "Firm name" they work for.
What I found out when Mark Thiessen became counsel for my case was that right under my nose he had become amongst the elite lawyers in criminal defense; especially handling DWI claims.
When you face criminal charges, it is an understatement to say you want a lawyer that is supremely confident and utterly fearless... If they fear trial then no DA will ever fear them.
Mark has shown a willingness to take his cases to trial... and the ability to win them as the rule and not the exception. He must be nearing or over 20 trial wins with less losses than he can count on one hand.
The importance of this cannot be underestimated.
From the beginning he kept even a lawyer like me at ease in a stressful situation... He has that intangible in inspiring his clients' confidence in him.
This does not mean he will blow smoke where the sun doesn't shine. To a lawyer that has the opposite effect.
He gives it to you straight at each phase of the litigation that, based on the evidence and other factors at work, what he sees as the most favorable outcomes and explains how he plans to get there.
He knows his turf. He knows how each judge operates, which courts have which DAs- who can be reasoned with, who are the stronger and weaker trial attorney DAs, what willingness they have shown to be flexible.
He knows his law. No matter what the circumstances surrounding your case should be, he will not fail to raise the appropriate motions to give you as much as the law allows in the process.
While some have settled with suspended licenses he petitioned for restrictive measures that would still allow me to drive freely if I didn't abuse the privilege.
Once all the evidence had come in and it was time for the DA to make a decision as to whether to take my case to trial or dismiss it, in hindsight I will admit that the decision was a borderline-close call that could have gone either way for the DA.
As a lawyer I am keenly aware of the reasons they decided to dismiss the charges against me.
(1) Thiessen not only is willing to but enjoys taking cases to trial.
If you hire a criminal attorney, you better hire one that likes "the fight". DAs like the fight and will bully on any lawyer that is shy to match that willingness.
(2) When Thiessen does fight, he usually wins.
When the DAs see any reasonable doubt in the case, they know which lawyers will take that and run with it. The DAs see enough cases to know how it will be likely to end up given the case and the lawyer. Most DAs in this county have been on the losing end of a trial against him. DAs know that if it is a "borderline" case, odds are he will find a way to win it come trial.
(3) Thiessen shows respect and courtesy to his adversary
No matter how good a criminal lawyer may be if he does not show the DAs and the court respect then they will not give any client a break... They will keep fighting you because they like the fight and they hate your lawyer. Thiessen gave them reasonable and sensible reasons why their case had weaknesses and because he has maintainted a rapport of respect and honesty with them, they listened.
--- Anyone who will ever ask me "I have a DWI charge, who should I call?" so long as Thiessen is practicing will get the same answer. There's too much on the line to fool yourself into thinking any attorney will do the same job, or attorney X or Y could do just as well.
I watch attorneys daily. I'

Mark Thiessen represented me in a DWI case a little over a year ago. He was recommended to me by a couple of my friends who also had used him in their own cases and had been very pleased with their outcomes. To be sure, though, I met with several other attorneys who specialize in DWI cases, but in the end was most impressed with Mr. Thiessen.
As a disclaimer, I completely understand the seriousness and potential consequences of driving after having a few drinks. I admit that I made a mistake and have taken precautions since to avoid repeating a similar mistake. However, I also know the public (i.e. lobbying and interest groups) pressure on police officers and DA's to pursue these types of offenses and cases. I believe that my arrest was more a product of this pressure than due to my actions on the road.
Mr. Thiessen approached my case with an open mind, and after performing the initial due diligence and viewing the evidence, agreed that we should fight the charges. I had heard horror stories about how often I would have to show up to court and go through the usual delays and positioning tactics used by both sets of attorneys. However, Mr. Thiessen, party due to his direct approach with the assistant DA's, was able to get my case dismissed at my second court appointment. He was excellent at explaining the process, the steps that I would be taking, and even my rights. He also kept me informed of our progress the entire time, and was always available to call when I had questions.
DWI cases are complicated, and an unfavorable outcome can have serious implications on a person's life and/or career. I believe that it is imperative to use an experienced lawyer with an impeccable reputation who specializes in DWI cases. Therefore, I STRONGLY recommend Mark Thiessen to anyone who is in the unfortunate position of looking for a DWI attorney.

Having several friends who have had DWI's in the past, I had a few recommendations for lawyers to evaluate. After meeting with all of them I knew Mark was the best choice. He was knowledgeable, honest, had a can-do attitude and left me with no questions or worries when I left his office. After selecting Mark, I was quickly reassured when I spoke with several lawyer acquaintances that spoke highly of him and read a positive mention in the Houston Press about his win percentage.
Despite the circumstances, my experience could not have been better. The DWI charge was dismissed! Everyone in the court room knew Mark and he had a great rapport with the judge and DA's associated with my case. I plan to recommend him to others in the future if I ever have the opportunity.

As most young people with an avid social life, you tend to only worry about having fun and not the possible consequences . . . . until the one day you see the flashing lights in your rearview mirror. Fortunately for me, I had someone in my corner to help me get through this horrific situation. Mark was very informative and attentive from day one. After battling the system for a little while, he was able to get my case dismissed. If you ever have to deal with this nightmare, I would strongly recommend you call him. I promise you will be extremely happy you did.

I had an excellent experience with Mark Thiessen. I went to his office after recieving a DWI and was in a meeting with him within five minutes of checking in. After a few standard questions and chatting for a few minutes I felt complete trust that he would represent me well. The process itself was just as smooth, I recieved up to minute updates on my case and was never confused about what was going on. I didn't give Mark an easy case to win but he kept us both positive. When we went to trial he dominated the courtroom and kept me involved on every decision, even so much so I finally said your the expert you make the call. The jury was clearly responsive when he spoke and we got the verdict we wanted when it was all over. He's an excellent lawer that will work extremely hard on your behalf, do not hesitate to hire his services.

I did my homework prior to interviewing/hiring lawyers and mark is well known as a dwi specialist who is great in court. I did not want anotet competent but complacent old lawyer who just tries to get you the best deal possible and cash your checks.
This is not mark. He told me day one that he wasn't interested in getting me a plea deal... Just dismissal or trial. He didn't promise anything but I could tell immediatley and throughout that he was confident in his courtroom abilites and was almost relishing the idea of taking this case to trial.
After several resets I got a Christmas suprise: my case was being dismissed. I am sure that marks reputation with the ADA had alot to do with this. These pretrial negotiations seem to be alot like a poker game. The Prosecutors knew mark wasn't bluffing and was holding the cards to win in trial. This is what I feel set him apart from lawyers I've hired in the past... Everyone knew he wasn't just fishing for a better plea deal and was happy to take this case to court. I read that he has the highest winning percentage of any dwi lawyer in Houston and would use him again and have reccomended him to everyone I know.

One never quite imagines getting pulled over after drinking and the consequences it brings until you're caught. And on top of that, one would never expect for it to happen twice. The fear is undescribable. The attorney I hired to handle my 1st offense did not fight for me in the slightest. He convinced me to accept probation and made it sound like we didn't stand a chance by taking it to trial. Because I trusted him and didn't know any better, I took the deal. The humiliation of checking in with a probation officer, taking DWI classes, wasting so much time and money, and the fact that the DWI will never leave my recored are all extremely frustrating. I never would have thought it could happen again. We (my parents and I) knew this time we had to hire a MUCH better lawyer-someone we knew would fight for me and wasn't afraid to take my case to trial should we get to that point.
We met with Mark and I immediately felt assured he knew what he was doing. There were so many questions he asked me that my 1st lawyer never asked or brought up. Mark was extremely up-front and honest with me from the beginning, preparing me for the worst...which is difficult but obviously necessary. I had complete trust in him. After hearing that he was winning cases left and right, I knew that we had made the right decision. My video wasn't the greatest, in fact, it was much worse than my first, so I was extremely nervous and scared. Because Mark had been so successfull in other cases leading up to my time to take our case to trial, he was able to convice the DA to drop my case all together. I actually cried in the courtroom that day when he said the case was just dismissed. The relief is still overwhelming to this day.
If you should ever find yourself in this unfortunate position, I truly believe you can put your trust in Mark. I would never recommend another attorney to handle a DWI case other than Mark Thiessen. His work ethic, track record, honesty and drive are outstanding.

After getting arrested for my first (and hopefully, last) DWI, I was worried about losing my license and of course how it would affect my job. However, I found Mark, and the worrying ceased. Immediately, he got to work on several different angles that made me feel very confident about my case. Equally important, I didn't blow so was very worried about my license, but he worked hard to get me my license back and got the ALR case dismissed! Seeing the respect he had of the other lawyers we would run into in the courthouse just furthered my confidence that I had chosen the right lawyer. Day of trial, the case was dismissed. Obviously a good result, but Mark would of loved to take it to trial and get a not guilty--just shows his dedication. Overall, he made a very bad experience disappear through his hard work, knowledge, and skill, and I would certainly recommend him to anyone who wants a similar outcome.

I found Mark to be a great asset in a troubling time. He was a very professional, honest resource, up front with me at every turn. I was followed home by someone who accused me of hitting them and not stopping. Mark was able to work with the judge and district attorney on my case to have all charges dismissed based on the circumstances. Without Mark, I don't know what the outcome would have been. Thanks, Mark for all your help!

I was arrested for DWI. Mr. Thiessen did an excellent job representing me. He was very upfront and kept me informed. He answered all of my many questions. My case was dismissed after almost a year.

Mark was great. He got the blow machine off my truck and my case was dismissed. I have contacted him and referred him to other people in the past several years. DWI's are not fun. Mark stayed on top of the case. If someone is in trouble or needing legal assistance, Mark is the guy for the job.

Although the experience of having a DWI case was not pleasant in itself, however the experience of working with Mark to resolve it was. Me and Mark worked on this case for about 1 year to finally walk out with a great success.
From day one, Mark inspired a great deal of confidence. This was emphasized by the respectful relationship he had with fellow lawyers at the court house and all the court staff including the judges.
Mark always kept me very well informed and made sure I clearly understood all the options that I had. I am not at all familiar with the American legal system. Mark made sure to always clearly explain the process.
My case was quite a difficult case, it was therefore a difficult decision to make to go to trial.
I dont think many lawyers would've tried.
But Mark studied the case very carefully, and finally came extremely well prepared.
The trial days were in a way very impressive. Most people come with a plan A, and a plan B in mind. Mark had a plan C and a plan D. He simply was not going to lose this case. Everyone was really impressed by Mark's professional performance in the Court Room. You could see it in the eyes of the jury panel.
Mark had the necessary references and knew all of them by heart. I learned so many things that day.
The whole experience was great. It was not an easy case at all, and the DAs were really not letting go, quite the opposite actually. But plan A worked, and we didn't even have to go to other plans
I wish Mark a lot of success. He is a gentleman with a lot of ethics and certainly puts the right focus when it comes to his work.
He is already one of the most successful DWI lawyers, and in my mind, there is not doubt why

I was arrested for a DWI backing out of a friends driveway and taken to Jail for DWI a little over a year ago. This was actually my second offense, due to a slip up 4 years prior when I turned 21. My tape looked good but my breath test was awful, (over a 2.0!). Let me just say that this was a really hard time in my life and still painful to look back on. My family and I hired mark to take on my case. Let me first say that if it wasn't for Mark I don't know what I would have done. He was professional, personable, and always good to me and my family. He is one of the hardest working most dedicated lawyers you will ever meet and takes his cases very seriously. He always told me the truth and never steered me wrong. We won my case in trial and I was able to move on with my life and get back normal. Let me also say that mark was amazing in court he was sincere and did an amazing job. I can't recommend and thank Mark enough. Thanks to him I was able to move on, start a new job, and get on with my life.

I was arrested for a DUI after leaving a friend's wedding party and trying to make it home. I thought I was pretty much done with because of my poor test results (stumbling around the police station on tape) but knew I had to get a lawyer regardless. I found Mark, who was able to beat both my ALR hearing and regular case and get my life back to normal again quickly. I thought at first it was a miracle, when in fact Mark is just that good. If you have a DUI, Mark should be your first call.

Even at the first sit down consultation, I knew Mark Thiessen was the attorney for me. He never candy-coated anything, and was very honest and straight forward throughout the entire process. I like his style, dedication and determination to help his clients. In fact, I have recommendend him to a couple of friends already. Not that I ever want to use it again, but his number will stay in my phone. Great work ethics, confidence, and knowledge.
