Having never had to hire an attorney, I really didn't know how to make the best decision on whom to represent me when I found myself suddenly needing representation. I did the best I could on short notice, based somewhat on internet reviews. Looking back, I do not think I could have made a better decision.

Day one, he explained to me what to expect, the possible outcomes, and what may result from each outcome. We also discussed cost and were on our way. As we went through the process, Carl was always responsive to emails, sometimes at odd hours, and I really felt like he cared. When you talk to him, you'll easily see that not only does he care about your individual situation, but he simply wants to win.

Before the trial, I knew I would recommend Carl to anyone regardless of the outcome, and that opinion was only strengthened in the courtroom. I knew as the jury left to deliberate that everything that could be done was done. He was in complete control the entire time, and took every opportunity both straightforward and subtle to advance our case.

As soon as the jury left, I heard the phone ring. They came back with the desired outcome "Not Guilty". Afterward, one of the jurors said they didn't even sit down before coming to that decision.

My girlfriend had hidden her legal past from me when she moved down from Oregon. She had been convicted of sexual assault and run from her parole in Oregon to Texas. Furthermore she had failed to register as a sex offender her in Texas. She was picked up several months after she had moved, turned in by her own father. I was blindsided, confused and unsure how I would deal with a pregnant girlfriend now behind bars.

At first I allowed her court appointed attorney to handle her felony case. Once it became apparent you got what you paid for, I searched high and low for a qualified, aggressive, smart and affordable attorney to defend her, and I found Carl David Ceder. Mr Ceder took my call in the early evening hours, after what most would consider normal business operations and worked with me on his retainer. He immediately went to work to defend my girlfriend. We were further stymied by medical complications involved in her pregnancy, and at every turn Carl was there with advice and dealing with the court because of her delay when she was admitted to the hospital on bedrest and gave birth at 25 weeks.

She had been offered 6 years state prison by the DA to her court appointed defender, but Carl ended up getting her 5 years probation. He also represented her in a misdemeanor charge for providing a false identity to the police upon being arrested. She failed a year in jail for that charge and instead was given 3 days, which was covered by her time served. Additionally Carl was able to recommend an excellent bails bondmen.

In short, he's aggressive, he's smart, he's hungry to prove himself, and he's reasonably priced. If you need a criminal lawyer, consider Carl David Ceder, I wouldn't hesitate to use him again!

Unfortunately I did not have the same experience that the other reviewers had. 7 days prior to our court hearing Carl stopped responding to phone calls, emails and texts. I had no idea what to expect when we went to court and he refused to return my calls. On the last business day prior to my court appearance, I left a tearful voicemail stating that I was considering hiring another lawyer because I wasn't sure Carl was going to show up. That message did lead him to call back. Funny, right. No. I no longer live in the state that Carl was representing me. I was flying in for this court appearance and was not at all comfortable with Carl and the way he handled my case.

On the day of the court appearance I arrived at the court 15 minutes prior to when he told me to arrive. I waited for an hour before he finally showed up. During this time, I called and texted ... but no response. Once he arrived I felt like I was an inconvenience to him. Keep in mind that we had already paid him in full for the services of representing me in court. Carl was quick to dismiss my desire to approach this case with anything other than what he had in mind.

Mr. Ceder was my son's lawyer. He was facing a misdemeanor assault charge in Texas. Mr. Ceder was always available to talk to my son and explained everything to him about what could be the possible outcomes. My son had moved to Georgia after the charge but only had to appear in court one time in Texas and Mr. Ceder was able to handle everything else without him having to be present. In the end the case was dismissed. My husband and I were very pleased with Mr. Ceder and recommend him highly.

I was charged with a Class B misdemeanor and was fortunate enough to have found Carl Ceder through an online search. Carl was always available by text/phone/email and was extremely responsive. He explained the alternatives and options I had to address my case and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the legal process. He was able to quickly resolve my case so my waiting period until expunction was shortened. I was facing a Probation Revocation on a DWI case. I am a student, so the court appointed me an attorney. The attorney I was given barely talked to me, didn't ask me any questions, and just simply did not care about my needs. I expressed to him that my biggest fear was jail time. His answer was only that pretty much everyone has to do jail time on cases like this. I later received some financial aid money and figured it would best be spent by keeping me out of jail. Do not judge a book by its cover. When my family hired Mr. Ceder and he came to see me in jail I was disappointed. I later told my husband "Are you serious? That kid must of just got out of law school!" ...I was in jail for Aggervated assult with a deadly weapon. Which is a second degree felony. Its a big deal when you are already on parole with a 20 year sentence for an Aggervated case. With the help of that "kid" my case didn't even make it to court. It was NO BILLED by the grand jury. He is very intellegent. That only took 24 days! He moves fast. Then I had to face parole. He did not show up to my Preliminary Hearing. I think a judge made him appear at the last minute on another case. It was not his fault, but I was so upset. Looking back I wish I would of waived that hearing and went straight to my Revocation hearing. It would of saved me a month in jail. I advised other girls in jail to do that and they left before I did. He did show up to my Revocation Hearing and did an excellent job. I'm so thankful my family hired him. He told me from day one, "Melinka you are going home, and you will be with your children again." And he was right. I always thought he was too quiet and calm to be an attorney. Honestly, if you are in jail, that's what you need. Somebody that is calm, collect and always thinking/analyzing ways to get your freedom back. (Proverbs 17:27 The smart person says very little, and one with understanding stays calm.) He was my Guardian Angel, let him be yours too.

I was in it pretty deep when I met Carl. I had no where to turn and no help in sight. I was facing false allegations and could not fight them on my own. If you find yourself facing a DWI charge, look no further than Carl David Ceder. Don’t let his younger appearance or four years practicing give you the false impression that he might not be as experienced as somebody else. That is simply not the case.

Trust me when I say that I interviewed about 15 different lawyers before deciding who to hire for my particular case, including most of the top ranked DWI defense attorneys in the DFW area found on this very website, some who had been practicing law for 30 years or longer. I met Carl in October on a Sunday @ Starbucks for about two hours, 30 minutes of me telling him what i needed from him on my case, 90 minutes of us getting to know each other. I was in Dallas for the birth of my first grandaughter, he texted me several times each day checking on my daughter who delivered on Tuesday, he has texted me from day one at least two times a week about the South Texas Border crime and weather where I live, and always about my grandaughter, as if we were the best of friends, once in awhile he would assure me that he would handle my case the best he could and not for me to worry. Carl was a fantastic lawyer. The first lawyer I had I never spoke directly to. I always got their secretary whenever I called, when ever they called me it was some other lawyer. Whenever I called Carl I spoke with him directly, any email or text was answered immeadately. He was always calling or emailing me to tell me how my case was going. Also the outcome was better then I could ever have expected. I had a terrible case, and ended off with a little slap on the wrist.
