I was charged with a DUI (1st) in March 2015. I thought my life was going to fall apart and scared what was going to happen. This was my first encounter with the law of any kind. I interviewed three attorneys within days of my arrest. There wasn't any doubt that Mrs. Curtis was my first choice! During our initial meeting, she was detailed in explaining what to expect during the court process and her process. She was straight forward and didn't try to 'sell' me on an unrealistic outcome - she is all about facts. I know she worked very hard with the court in providing me with my best options, and it was evident she has built a strong relationship with Collin County Court Officials. When the time came to decide which option to take, she offered me the pros and cons of each option and provided me with true case history. This was the most valuable information in helping me to decide which option to take and to ensure it was the right one for me and my family.
I feel fortunate to have Mrs. Curtis represent me and confident that I received the best outcome. Thank you Mrs. Curtis!
Sharon Curtis was the first attorney I decided to meet based on the excellent reviews from her clients out of tens of other practicing attorneys in Collin county. Right from our first meeting I found her very honest, direct and straight forward about my case and the possible outcome rather than sugar coating words of false hope and comfort unlike most other attorneys. She gave me a detailed checklist of things to get done (sooner rather than later) to improve and increase my chances for a better outcome. She made me believe in her words and I started doing those things one by one as fast as I could manage. I kept her informed regularly of my progress and despite her busy work schedule she always responded promptly with kindness and complimenting words. I finished most of the things on the list in three months starting with Community Service and she was very happy with the progress. During those months she worked extremely hard, met with the DA several times, fought for my case with tooth and nail and finally got the charge dropped from a bumped up felony to Misdemeanor B with some fine and probation with a possibility of early release.
Ms. Curtis has been my guardian angel and Godsend from above. My family and I are eternally grateful for her guidance, wisdom, honesty, professionalism and compassion. What she has done for me is through her "above and beyond" hard work and skillful negotiations with the district attorney. She is worth the money you spend on her fees in every sense of the word. What else can I say about Sharon Curtis? She is an amazing miracle worker. All you have to do is listen to her, follow her advice and she will get you the result beyond your expectations. Wish I could say more to fill up pages in her praise but I think I should save that space for her other grateful clients.
All in all, she is THE BEST, most dependable and trustworthy attorney that will fight for you. She truly cares about your well-being, not as a case but as a person. She says what she means, and means what she says. She has changed my life in more ways than one. Through this unfortunate ordeal, I also got a chance to get help for my deep depression with counseling and medication that under normal circumstance I wouldn't have gone for. Her assistant Jose is also very nice, helpful and always ready to answer any questions. Thank you, Ms. Curtis and Jose, for everything! God bless you! I highly recommend her.
Sharon, took on my case as a public defender and she worked very hard for me and we ended up with the best possible outcome. She worked hard for over 1 year on my case, she was fast, efficient and thorough. She got the charge dropped to a ticket which isn't something the prosecutor normally agrees to on a case like this but, she did it! Sharon, is the best attorney I've ever worked with and would recommend her to anyone in need of someone that will get the job done and exceed your expectations.
Sharon represented me for my dwi. If not for her being the amazing person that she is and the superb attorney that she is I think things would have ended up differently. Not only did she fight for my case she become someone that I look up to with her guidance and wisdom. I'm beyond grateful to have had Sharon as my attorney and more so that she was able to get results that made things better than I thought they could have turned out. Thank you for all your hard work on my case. Thank you for your kind words, and thank you for being stern with me when it was needed. I would gladly recommend Mrs. Curtis to anyone seeking legal counsel.
Sharon was the best lawyer I had ever met. She is very friendly and very patient with all my questions. She response e-mail fast and I can always get hold on her when I need help. Also, she is very efficient and always gives me the best suggestions. I think Sharon was the best and dependable lawyer in Collin County. I will highly recommend her to everybody who needs help.
Sharon was the best lawyer I had even met. She is very friendly and patient with all my questions. Also, she is very professional and efficiently. I believe she is the most dependable lawyer in Collin County. I highly recommend her for you.
I hired Sharon a year ago to help me resolve a very tricky and very tough probation revocation case in Collin county's 219th district court. I had violated a term of my probation about 15 months in and unfortunately it was the 3rd revocation since I picked up the original charges. I met with her and she armed me with a very detailed checklist of things to get done in order to increase my chances of getting one more chance. I spent a year completing all the terms that she laid out on the checklist and we put a plan together to take everything in front of the DA. Even though I knew I had the best attorney in the county on my side I was terrified that I just wasn't going to get the outcome I either wanted or felt I had deserved. I put my life in her hands and instead of getting prison time she worked a deal to let me continue on my probation and only do a week commitment in the county jail. For me and my family is was a blessing from God and the best possible outcome we could have ever hoped for. She's very firm and direct and even sometimes a bit stern but it's all in a good natured approach to helping her clients get their lives back on track.
I have had 4 different attorneys through the 5 years I've had these cases and Sharon is BY FAR the best one I've used. She took the time afterwards to send me a kind email letting me know how nice I was to work with and how much she hopes I make it to the finish line this time. If I had to recommend any attorney in Collin County for any criminal defense case it would be Sharon hands down, without even a second thought.
I was a heavy drinker with 2 DWI's on Sept 10 2010 I got my third was looking at 8yrs in TDC and Sharon got me Collin County DWI/Drug program I completed it and have been sober almost 5yrs. If not for Sharon i would have gone to prison and not turned my life around. She has also helped with other things over the last year and i wouldn't go to anyone else period. Thank you i cant say enough. if you need a attorney you need Sharon.

I'm not sure where to begin.. Mrs. Curtis is known in Collin County to be best criminal lawyer. She is upfront with you during a consultation and she delivers as promised. She worked with my immigration lawyer, who then consulted me on immigration consequences with the plea available. Her staff is friendly and reliable. She got me the best possible plea that I could ask for and it has changed my life. If you have a drug charge/DWI/DUI.. Please don't waste your time anywhere else. She is known in Collin county as a hardass lawyer and she lives up to that reputation.

My son got in trouble and there was absolutely no excuse for his actions, his case had “no defense” from my point of view. We only knew that this will never happen again, but why would the prosecution believe us? What Mrs Curtis did was above and beyond everybody’s expectations. We went from making jail time plans, and trying to fit them with his college plans, to normal life as if nothing happened. Mrs Curtis will find this needle in a haystack to defend you and achieve the best possible outcome to minimize the impact of the criminal offense on your future, or minimize the punishment if convicted. She will also work on correcting your behavior that lead to this offense by sending you to counselling, community service, and other corrective actions. My son was not convicted of the offense and Mrs Curtis was able to reduce the level of the offense, which will allow to have the records expunged in two years. Here are several learnings from this experience:
1) All lawyers sound very good when you talk to them. This is their job. You can be brainwashed by any one of them no matter what they are practically able to do for you. We selected Mrs Curtis based on the AVVO comments by her clients and by looking at the Collin County criminal records. She is Board Certified in criminal law, and there are only 15 lawyers in McKinney who are Board Certified. There may be other good lawyers, but do you want to experiment with your future? Any difference in the cost between lawyers should be ignored as criteria to select a lawyer. Because when it comes to, lets say, jail time of 5 months vs jail time of 5 days with Mrs Curtis, I can guarantee that you would be ready to pay the difference, if any.
2) Most of the people are not familiar with the effects of a criminal offense on the person’s future. All the job applications require a criminal background check. All rental applications also.
All opportunities will be limited. I came across a nonprofit organization when I was looking for community service hours for my son. They declined to take him to work for them for free when I told them that there is a criminal offense charge pending. You need to call Mrs Curtis and do not think that you can do it on your own.
3) Do not talk to the police, prosecutors, or any government official about your case. You may be thinking that you are doing something very smart at the time, but every word you say will go against you, or make it harder for the lawyer to fix. They will also record the conversation secretly without notifying you or asking for your permission. Depending on your offence most of the government officials are required by law to report your conversation with them to authorities. Do not talk about it at your job and any place that you call on the phone. Do not ask the “victim” for your case to talk to anyone. Call Mrs Curtis and talk with her or her office staff only and do what she tells you. Mrs Curtis has office assistants, who handle the office when she is in court. Jose answers the phone usually, very helpful and honest person.
