A 2002 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Mr. Glass entered the West Virginia University College of Law immediately thereafter and graduated in 2005 with a Juris Doctorate degree.
Â
He began working with La Neve Law Offices in 2004 as a law clerk during his third year of law school.  Mr. Glass actively participated in the handling of all of the firm’s criminal cases, while maintaining a focus on representing individuals charged with driving under the influence (DUI).   He regularly handled almost all DMV administrative hearings and appeals from administrative cases for clients of La Neve Law Offices.
Â
Mr. Glass has completed extensive training in the area of drunk driving defense. He has been a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD) since he began practicing in 2005. Currently there are only five attorneys in the entire state that are members of NCDD. Other memberships include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the West Virginia Bar Association, and he is a founding member of the West Virginia DUI Defense Lawyers Association.
Â
Shortly after being admitted to the practice of law, Mr. Glass was trained as a practitioner in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s) and holds a certificate of successful completion of the NHTSA/IACP course curriculum in that field. This is the same training that every officer in the state of West Virginia must go through at the State Police Academy. Mr. Glass is also one of only two attorneys in the entire state to be a trained Intoximeter EC/IR II breath test operator.
Â
Mr. Glass has attended the Summer Session, focused on development of trial skills, conducted annually by the NCDD on the grounds of Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has also attended many other national NCDD sponsored and accredited conferences, including multiple trips to the annual Mastering Scientific Evidence seminar. Mr. Glass makes it a point to attend at least two of these events every year.
Â
With ongoing improvements in analytical technology, many criminal cases, especially DUI cases, are now impacted by scientific evidence such as DNA, fingerprinting, breath tests, and blood tests. Â Thanks to his background in biology and his continuing education, Mr. Glass is able to understand the intricacies of this complex area of the law.
Â
Mr. Glass has successfully represented hundreds of clients, obtaining winning outcomes in many cases, through pretrial motions, plea negotiations, and trial. Mr. Glass also has extensive experience in appellate work, including DMV appeals and various writs. Â Mr. Glass has also appeared in front of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.Â
Â
In the Fall of 2011, Mr. Glass opened his own office, The Glass Defense Firm, which focuses soley on criminal defense in West Virginia, with an emphasis in DUI defense. Â Jason Glass and the Glass Defense Firm is the clear choice for criminal defense in West Virginia.
