Sean Christopher Serpe

I paid him upfront with the expectation that he would be filing my bankruptcy within 3 months, Mr. Serpe did not follow through on appointments or telephone conferences. He said he was turning over his cases to another laywer due to illness, made an appointment for three of us to meet to prepare f...or a meeting of creditors, was to take care of a hearing on dismissal for failure to pay fee (which was sent to an old residence address). Closed his office and moved out without notification or forwarding address. Cannot be reached by phone. I believe his actions are in violation of the New York Lawyer's Code of Professional Responsibility. I will be taking this up with the NY State Bar Association. I believe I have a legitimate grievance and would like to protect others from going through this process. I was widowed recently, on a fixed budget, left with husband's responsibilities and now this.... Every month's delay costs me $1000 in garnishments.

My experience with Sean was incredibly consistent with the individuals who have written negative reviews here, leading me to question the validity of the positive reviews. Sean was totally unresponsive causing significant opportunity costs to me -- perhaps he has simply taken on way too many clients.... More troubling, the contract he wrote for me was boiler plate. When his lack of responsiveness forced me to seek other counsel, the new attorney looked at the contract and tore it up, describing it as well, incompetent. The new contract was like night and day. My suggestion would be to look elsewhere.

I never in my life thought I would find myself in this position to have to go to see an attorney over finances. I have a great job for many years and amazing credit and always paid my bills on time --but then I got ill. I thought my health insurance would cover everything but it didn’t and then th...e bills started coming in I had to make decisions as to whether to pay my doctor bills, so I could continue going to see specialists or my credit card bills. it became over whelming all the hospital, medicine, tests and doctors. I was so nerves I could not sleep at night and owning so much money made me even sicker , I didn’t know what to do... someone gave me Mr. Serpe's number and said just go talk to him. So one day I went to see Mr. Serpe I was so nerves I had no idea what to except. I needed someone I could trust that would help me and that would be concerned about me to help me make decisions that would impact my future and my health. I was so scared to go - not sure what it would be like I never went to see a lawyer before. I was so shocked when I went into Mr. Serpe's office – I was greeted with kindness from the beginning. and then I meet Mr. Serpe, his warm smile and hand shake I knew I was In the right place . we sat down and talked and he made me feel so comfortable like he was a an old friend or family member- I really feel like he cares about me and what happens to me. He has explained to me in terms that I can understand as to what would happen and assured me that he is there for me and that he is going to do the worrying for me. But like every kind of office or company it takes more than one person and I have to tell you his entire staff takes after him Every person that I have met or spoken to from his office as only been kind and understanding to me- and they are understanding as to how scared and nerves a person is under these circumstances. There are not words I can say to express how much I appreciate everything Mr. Serpe and his associates have done for me. I now sleep at night not worrying. he is not only kind but smart and knows how to handle everything in a professional but kind manner. I would recommend his office to anyone looking for smart -sharp Lawyer.
