John was very professional when handling my case. He took the time to develop a winning strategy for success. After John reviewed my options and best tactical approach I was convinced that John Landreth was the right attorney for the job.

Being faced with my second DWI charge in as many years (while still on probation with license revoked from the first), I was probably at my lowest point ever and felt like I didn't have a leg to stand on when I called up the Powers McCartan office on that day shortly after it happened. It was Bill who became my primary attorney for the case, but I believe it was John that I spoke with then who was able to put me at ease and give me the feeling that I at least had half a chance at a relatively satisfying outcome.
Fast forward almost 2 1/2 years and many visits to the courthouse just to see the case end up getting continued to a later date, I wasn't sure where it was headed and didn't have high expectations even though I was kept up to speed on the details and strategy on the days that I had to go. I am very pleased to say that it was John Landreth who was standing next to me when I finally saw the judge and who was able to get the charge DISMISSED. Although I had only seen him once or twice in that whole time leading up to the trial (I met with 2 or 3 of the firm's other attorneys as well), he argued my case like he had been working on it every day since it started. He was so extremely well prepared and spoken that it was like watching a master at work, and at the end when the judge said she was going to go ahead and grant our motion to dismiss the charge I almost couldn't believe it and thought I was dreaming for a second.
John really saved me on that one and gave me another chance in life and I will be forever grateful and never forget him. If you ever find yourself in a similar unfortunate situation like mine do not hesitate to contact him, it may very well be the best decision you ever make!

John and all the people at Bill Powers office were extremely professional and understanding, from the start I felt comfortable with all of them. I was referred by a good friend and it was the best advice he had ever given me. John was tough with the court but didn't overstep the line to aggravate the situation. He was timely, easy to contact if I had questions and professional but down to to earth at the same time. I would recommend, and have this law firm to anyone who wants personalized and expert service for their case. Don't make a mistake, call them!
The rates are very affordable also.

Mr. Landreth did a wonderful job defending me. He was compassionate to my situation as I live out of state and settled my case far better that I could have expected and did it in one day. I am truly grateful for his help. May God bless him.

Mr. Landreth did an amazing job, both before and during the trial. He communicated with me around each court date, and even told me when I didn't need to appear on certain court dates. This saved me from missing work and prevented lost wages. His attention to detail is what ultimately resulted in a not guilty verdict. I would recommend John Landreth to anyone who finds himself in need of legal services.

I was Facing a DUI with a Refusal to Blow in Mooresville. This was a complicated case and let me tell you I was scared and facing possible jail time and the judge I got would have imposed some jail time if found guilty. John Landreth is a brilliant and clever lawyer and was able to convince a jury of returning a Not Guilty verdict and if you ever hear him speak in court or cross examine someone you will understand what i mean. I am so thankful to John Landreth for everything he did. Let me tell you If you need a criminal lawyer go and meet with him and you do not need to second guess hiring John Landreth because he is a shark in court.

With out a doubt Mr. Landreth is the best Lawyer for the job. He took the time to actually listen to what I had to say and then advised me on what I might and could expect. He was spot on. I had been living with this hanging over my head for over 26 years and Mr. Landreth was able to bring my matter to a swift and agreeable conclusion. I can't praise Mr. Landreth and his Firm enough. If you want a lawyer that will act in your best interest then look no further.

A DWI is the quickest eye opener to just how fast your life can change and suck the fun out of a vacation ski trip. With a 25 year career on the line and all that I stood to lose this flashed before me in the few hours I endured the arrest process. Once the shock factor had settled, I felt the string of events that had happened to me could be very questionable so I begin the journey to rectify the problem.
Living out of state and finding an attorney was my first challenge. My third phone call landed me an interview with John Landreth. He was very detailed and took a great deal of his time to explain my rights, the NC laws and the legal process I could expect. By the end of our conversation I felt his confidence and knew I was in good hands. He ensured me that it was better to have him than not.
With Mr. Landreth’s knowledge of NC laws, his knowledge of the Judges who are sitting that day, to the police officers and the staff there helps in making a decision for the best interest of clients. He is honest in every answer whether good or bad, explaining he can’t make promises but always ensured me he'd do his absolute best. He displayed great professionalism with a fierce drive and hard work to "right" the wrongs and to win my case. I am elated to report I walked out of the courtroom with a DISMISSAL. His work at my trial was masterful! He was thorough, and diligent in not stopping with questions to the law enforcement with the things that were not in accordance at my arrest.
I truly know he wants the best possible outcome for his clients. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of a top notch DWI attorney.

Attorney John Landreth of Powers McCartan in Charlotte, NC was my criminal defense attorney for a jury trial in NC. His trial preparations for my case helped us win the criminal case that was tried in NC. He did an awesome job with the opening, questioning the witness, and objecting to statements from the DA to protect my rights. He did an awesome job appealing to the jury in his closing argument that helped the jury return a not guilty verdict. He was very professional and well prepared. I'd highly recommend anyone to hire Mr. John Landreth to represent them in a case in NC.
