Justin Allen Chin

I am a caretaker of many children and owner of a childcare business. Mr. Chin has been my attorney since March 12, 2023…. over two years now. I have two daughters and Justin has been with me in representing me in two Temporary Protection Orders, one against my ex-boyfriend and another against my ...former husband. Unfortunately, I had tried to live with my ex-husband and ex-boyfriend and things didn’t work out because it was a very hard living situation. Mr. Chin helped me settle my divorce, obtaining for me primary custody of my children, final decision-making authority for all areas for my children, and made my ex-husband pay me over $59k lump sum and over Eight Hundred in child support per month by income deduction order… I have no criminal history nor allegations by anybody that I have committed a crime. Mr. Chin is compassionate, ethical, and ready to settle all cases before him. Mr. Chin checks his email regularly and always replies to my questions, thoughts, and requests within a few hours, or gives me a call to explain.

My experience with Attorney Justin Chin was deeply disappointing and distressing. Throughout my divorce proceedings (file no. 2018CV307378), I encountered multiple instances of negligence and fraudulent conduct. Mr. Chin consistently avoided and deflected my requests, displaying a lack of accountabi...lity and transparency. There was a substantial mishandling of escrow funds, with $$$, unaccounted for in the escrow account calculation, and a refusal to produce documentation regarding disbursements. Furthermore, I felt coerced, manipulated, and extorted for Mr. Chin's personal gain. Despite my financial vulnerability and inability to pay rent without agreed-upon assistance, Mr. Chin withheld my rent check and disregarded my concerns, prioritizing his own agenda. His representation lacked fidelity, marked by falsehoods, malicious delays, and unnecessary case extensions. The final decree presented to the court contained gross errors that did not align with the judge's decree during trial. Mr. Chin's response to my concerns was dismissive, stating we would appeal, yet for a year, I was misled about the progress. The appeal was eventually dismissed in February 2023, while Mr. Chin accumulated charges through unproductive meetings without updates on the appeal status. In September 23, 2023, Mr. Chin sent a Settlement Agreement and Release, which I amended; however, he disagreed and voided the agreement, cutting off communication since then. This situation left me in a dire financial state, impacting custody of my minor son and resulting in homelessness for my daughter and me during the pandemic. Justin was able to resolve my legitimation case in five months from start to finish. Justin won’t sit on a case without a settlement offer in the other side’s hands at all times. My ex was started with an offer giving me supervised visitation and I have been way more participatory in my son’s lif...e than the average Dad, taking off work to accommodate my Ex’s schedule to help my Son. The final settlement was exactly what I would get in court without paying the expense to go to court. Justin kept pushing the mediator to get me what I should get but won’t make someone settle either.

This guy completely failed me to in trial. First, he had months to work on my exhibit and case, but he waited until the night before trial to file them. Second, he actually filed on the morning of court on the last court appear prior to this one. He is not an attorney you want fighting for your child.... This man watched the other party go through their exhibits in trial and I begged him to go through mine to show the evidence and proof and he did not walk through my exhibits which caused me to lose because everything was delivered last minute and they didn’t look at my evidence. I was texting him during the virtual begging him to ask the other party certain questions and he did not ask not one question. The man grilled me harder than he grilled the other party. It’s almost like someone made a bet with him to be a lawyer and he did. I have had 3 other attorneys tell me that a lot of his clients fire him because they realize how much money was wasted on him to lose their case.

I was served divorce papers in January and Justin and his team was able to successfully negotiate a settlement agreement by March! Through mediation, Justin and Danielle negotiated a settlement agreement well in my favor - no overnight visits with the Father, child support for my 3 YO and a parenting... plan that did not require holiday visits. I couldn't be more relieved and happy with the outcome!
