Frustrated

I feel Attorney John Skiba does knows a lot about the Bankruptcy/ debt collection laws however I did not have a good experience with him as an attorney. I understand you cannot control what a judge decides to do but I went with his recommendation by not showing up at a hearing when I told him I was ...willing and lost the case. One of the reasons cited by the judge was because I was not present and it showed the court that I did not care. After, all I got from Mr. Skiba was the decision could be appealed but it was not in the scope of our agreement and would be expensive. I never received any additional information from him on what I needed to do. However, I did receive a letter from him that told me what he could do for me at an additional cost. I had difficulty reaching him to find out if I needed to contact the company or wait for a demand from them. I scheduled a telephonic appointment so I could ask him and he missed it. I received an email stating he would call me in the morning but never receive a call. I had to email him days later to ask when I would get a call back from him. I never received a response or call from him. I did receive a letter from him stating my case was closed out and ended it by asking for referrals. I would not recommend Attorney John Skiba to my family or friends. He seems like a nice guy but good luck if you choose to go with him.

Scott: I can appreciate your frustration with the final ruling in your case. I have handled literally thousands of consumers cases and as much as I do my best to get the best outcome possible at the end of the day the final decision is left to a judge or jury. When a judge or jury makes a decision that we don't agree with then our remedy is to appeal it to a higher court. Unfortunately the appeal process is lengthy and requires a substantial amount of work. Because of that it is necessary for me to charge additional legal fees above and beyond what it costs to handle a typical case through trial. I wish we would have been able to get a better final result in your case but the facts of the matter dictated otherwise.

Awesome Bankruptcy Attorney!

I met with attorney John Skiba about a year ago for a bankruptcy consultation when I was living in AZ and was impressed right off the bat with his professionalism and compassion for the difficult financial situation that I was going through. He was available to meet with me right away. At the meetin...g, he clearly laid out all of the available options that I had and wanted to make sure that I was completely comfortable with what all of the possible outcomes could be. After working with John for almost a year on what I consider to be a pretty complicated bankruptcy, the outcome ended up being the best possible case scenario and was exactly what John had predicted. It was the best possible outcome for my family and for myself. Also, he was there every step of the way to answer any questions or concerns that I had. I cannot thank him enough for all of his help and will continue to refer him to any clients, friends, or family members that I possibly can when they are in need of a trusted bankruptcy adviser. I met John originally at a presentation that he was giving to a real estate company. I had even referred him to a family member prior to using him myself, and they were also very impressed and happy with his services. He offers a free consultation and I would highly recommend to anyone facing difficult financial times to call him and schedule an appointment. He will definitely guide you in the right direction and his fees are extremely reasonable compared to all of his competition. I would not go to anyone else for a bankruptcy or consultation.

Professional Representation

John helped us with our chapter 7 filing. John is an excellent communicator. John is able to explain complex court procedures; we had no idea what to expect. John made it easy for us to prepare for the filing. On the day we went to court, my wife and I were confident in the proceedings. Of course Joh...n was there in case anything did arise. John was punctual with meetings, patient with obtalces, confident our case would have a positive result, John was right! John's hard work and attention to detail enabled our family to start over again. I would use John again for any legal issue. I appreciate all the hard work he and his staff did for us!

"I have known John and have watched his good work for consumers in Arizona for a number of years now. Especially dealing with debt collectors or debt buyers like Midland Funding. He gives away a ton of great information that you should look at. Not everyone who is dealing with debt or a debt collector needs a lawyer but everyone needs good solid information. He'll give you very solid information. And then you'll need to act on that information. If you need a lawyer in Arizona, I highly recommend John Skiba. He'll shoot straight with you and guide you through the process. John Watts"
