I'm sure every real estate deal has its quirks. Ours (our first), had a *lot* of quirks. Seemingly _every_ single detail was a point of contention, from negotiation of particular contract contingencies, to enforcing the contract to get a clear title (there were open DOB permits and an SWO) before clo...sing, to negotiating concessions for conditions disclosed in the final walkthrough, all the way down to the time of day of closing. Alexia had our back every step of the way and seemingly won every battle she fought. We feel very fortunate to have had her on our team. This deal would have been really perilous and we might have ended up in bad shape without her foresight, experience, relentlessness, and attention to detail.

This is the second time I have hired Alexia. She did my closing when I bought the apartment over 10 years ago and just recently did the closing when I sold. Alexia is always the utmost professional. Selling, moving, relocating to another state and trying to find a new place is very stressful given th...e current environment. I sometimes lost my cool and Alexia was always there to comfort me and give my the proper guidance. Ms. Garin had me pay 1/2 of her retainer up front, and proceeded to treat me like I didn’t exist. I would go days without any communication from her, and when I finally was able to track her down, she spoke to me as if I was inconveniencing her! Now I understand why she charges 1/2 up front - she... gets to keep that deposit of course, regardless of how badly she treats her clients. Stay away if you value professional, prompt communication about your home buying process.

Alexia helped us close on our first apartment purchase in NYC. She made what is a very complicated, paperwork filled processes extremely easy. She was always punctual and prepared, I've already recommended her to coworkers who are purchasing in the city. At the closing the sellers attorney was very ...unprofessional, very unprepared and filled out many documents incorrectly. We were very happy to have her attention to detail and the prepared and professional lawyer on our side of the table.
