Cascadia turned around my case

I had lost all hope in my naturalization application before meeting Margaret and her team at Cascadia. I submitted my N-400 back in 2016 but it stalled due to the MAVNI fiasco. Through the hard work of Nio class counsel and Cascadia, however, my interview finally got rescheduled to Feb 2020. Many... reviews have gone into great detail about Margaret’s professionalism and aptitude as a lawyer so I want to talk about something different: her humanity. For instance, she knew I had not had time to eat breakfast before our interview at 7 am so she shared her bagel with me. On a greater scale, she has been counseling stuck MAVNIs day in, day out for years, lifting us from the lowest points of our lives. Thinking back, I think Cascadia might be the only law firm that could have worked out my case. Right before the interview, the office reported that they accidentally sent my file to a different office and was going to cancel my interview. If not for Margaret who stood her ground and convinced USCIS to let me interview without the file, I might have had to wait indefinitely for the next interview appointment as COVID-19 hit the US hard right afterwards. Subsequently, USCIS sent me two RFEs that made little sense. A lawyer without a military background probably would not know how to respond to those RFEs, unlike Margaret. Had I retained a lawyer stumped by the RFEs, I might have had to ask Margaret to teach him/her how to answer the RFEs, paying for two lawyers instead of one. Thus, I strongly recommend retaining Cascadia directly if possible. It perturbs me how awry my application could have gone without Cascadia: I made a few mistakes on my form that I was unaware of until Margaret came along, I received RFEs that other MAVNIs didn’t encounter, I almost never got to interview, etc. Looking at the chain of events, Cascadia was the number one factor in my application’s success.

Professional, detail oriented, VERY caring understanding

Words cannot describe how amazing Margaret is. First off, she’s excellent at what she does. My very first encounter with her was through a Skype consultation. Believe me, I thought the Skype call wouldn’t mean much, based on my past experiences with criminal defense attorneys. For anyone who’s had to... deal with lawyers, most of them who do phone call consultations rarely keep track of their clients’s cases. They make you recount your story all over again, barely interact with you when you have questions, sometimes ignore you when you dial their digits and seldom(In my case never) reply to clients’ emails. Sometimes, the clients aren’t even aware of what’s going on with their case and only have to find out when they get to court before a DA or the judge, and that’s either during an arraignment, a trial or plea agreement. Some attorneys even show up late to your own court case, if that says anything. Yeah, that’s how untrusting I was of attorneys. I can attest that Margaret IS different. She truly cares, is genuine, and very professional. She doesn’t care about money. She pays attention to every Minute detail of your case, even the details you didn’t think mattered or forgot you told her two years prior. Yeah, that shocked me, too. Her para-legal team was very calm, patient, professional and friendly. They worked on my case incessantly from the moment I hired Margaret right up to the time my case was complete. I just wanna say a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Cascadia Cross-Border Law Firm. Even while I was deployed, they never stopped working. The esprit de corps energy was very apparent and palpable. I remember asking many questions pertaining to my case and when the para-legal didn’t know the answers, they always deferred to Margaret’s superior knowledge. They would get back to me Promptly with the answers I needed. There’s not a single time that I felt ignored or my questions unanswered. I was always aware of what was going on with my case, right up to filing, my interview with USCIS, oath ceremony, and beyond. At my Naturalization interview, Margaret truly vouched for me. She was an incredible advocate. Never before had I seen a fierce fighter in an attorney like I did in Margaret on that day. But for that to be possible, the client must be honest and willing to be vulnerable, though. She was blunt. Didn’t mince words. Never belittling or condescending. If she felt something was a little off, she’d tell you. I don’t know about you reading this, but that’s the type of person I want as an attorney. And in spite of that, Margaret didn’t judge. She didn’t care that my past was crappy or nutty. She saw me as a whole person and not just a paycheck, and treated me as such, even before the immigration officer(IO). She knows the law to her fingertips and argued for why my petition deserved to be approved before the officer. I felt like my IO was a little brash and when I told Margaret, she said smiled and told me that it was nothing lol. At the end of the day, I think her experiences with people of different cultures gives her an upper edge as far as understanding human interaction, cultural differences, and behavioral patterns. There’s no doubt that I needed a lawyer for my case, and I absolutely have no regrets that I hired her. She’s the type of loyal immigration lawyer you want at all times, trust me. I’m forever indebted to Margaret for changing my life.

Wonderful and professional

I asked her for advise and she was professional in her response and answered me. I liked her advise and it makes good sense based on my current situation.

Very knowledgeable and exceptional service

I had a personal immigration question and I addressed it here. She answered and took a lot of pain to get me the right answer. When I am ready to file my papers, I will surely be using her services.
