I was facing criminal charges to say the least would have destroyed my life. I was accused of a crime that faced heavy penalties and prison time and I also was taking on a child custody battle. I called the office a little scared not knowing what to do. Mark and his team got me in the office right a...way and I retained them that same hour even after I spoke to another office I felt like Mark was a better fit for me. Mark was very impressive at trial and in the office, I felt that he really cared about my case. Mark and his team were amazing from start to finish. I was trying to modify a parenting plan when my ex husband reappeared after 4 years of nothing. I kept hearing the court say "it's your word against his." I was way over my head. After seeing Mark represent another client in court, I called for a consult. Yes the money plays in, this is his business.... They actually worked hard to help me keep cost down, knowing our situation. His paralegal can be very blunt and come across as abrasive, but so is the legal system. As long as I communicated when there was a misunderstanding, everything went well. She saw the reality of the person I was dealing with and responded appropriately. I like her pit-bull attitude, it is what was needed. Mark was always honest with me and made it clear what his plan was when I was confused and felt he was being too nice to him. I thought I would never have to hire a lawyer for anything until I found myself needing one. The family law system can be overwhelming, especially when you are representing yourself and your soon-to-be ex and the other attorney is taking you to court time and time again and no one seems to be listeni...ng to your side. Mark Hodgson not only made me feel very confident that I was in good hands, he clearly demonstrated in court his superior grasp of family law matters and was adept at countering the sneaky tactics that other attorney tried to pull in court.
