Positive, except....

The staff in Mr. Magee's office are friendly, informative, and pleasant. So is Mr. Magee. However, for each of the 1/2 dozen meetings I had in his office, he did not see me until 1 1/2 hours AFTER the appointment time. Then I lost my job for health reasons. The Court Trustee said to have Magee "m...odifiy"my plan since I now had no income, but Magee refused to do so. He told me to "just let it be dismissed". This meant past creditors could now "sue" me and call me. So, friendly and knowledgeable, but keeps you waiting for LONG periods, and not only drops, but throws the ball if any out of the ordinary thing happens. Possibly because he's busy spreading his business to many other towns?

Great Attorney

Mr MaGee and his office staff have been great to work with. They have always made us feel like we mattered. Going though Bankruptcy has been a very stressful process so having knowledgeable professional people working with us made it a bit easier. I would recommend them to anyone going though this....

Very Friendly and Knowledgable

Mr. MaGee took time out of his busy day to listen to my situation. He then was able to give me two different senario's in which I thought were very detailed and helpful to me. I came away from our conversation very satisfied. He never talked down to me like some lawyers have in the past. His staf...f is very friendly.

Compassionate and empathetic...

I first found Mr. MaGee last year when I came to the awful conclusion I wasn t going to be able to keep up with my debts. As a little personal history, I am a court reporter. I came out of a 23-year marriage with no skills, and so I went back to school at age 45 to better myself, to provide for ...myself. It took me over five years to get my court reporting license. During that time, I had to use credit a lot to continue school. A few years forward, the floor dropped beneath us in the stock market and I virtually lost all my nest egg. What little I had left had to be used to pay for my debts each month. The third element is, like a lot of businesses, my income dropped because the court reporting business was also affected by the economy. I then struggled for two to three years, making sure I kept all my monthly obligations paid. But back in 2011 around March, I realized I could no longer keep all the balls in the air, and only after a long, long, and hard mental process did I decide I had to talk with counsel about what options were available. The point I'm making here is, like most of us, we work hard, we pay our bills, and yet something catastrophic happens in our lives such as losing our jobs, medical bills suddenly happen, whatever, that force good people to make very tough decisions. I looked long and I looked hard, being very, very picky who I chose to represent me. As a court reporter I knew I didn t want some angry, aggressive counsel. The minute I met Mr. MaGee and his staff, I felt like I had found the person who would/could guide me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. He spent as much time as needed to go over my case. His office staff, Ray, Lisa, Mary, have become people I know I can count on when I have questions. They're compassionate; they re non-judgmental. It's embarrassing enough to sit in that waiting room, especially if you feel staff and counsel are judging you. As a side note, I spoke to another attorney before Mr. MaGee. She was just horrible. She talked down to me, made me feel just awful. Mr. MaGee knows not only the legal aspect of what needs to be done, but he also makes you feel at ease, leaving one feeling like you have someone on your side. He didn t just take the case; he listened to how I got to where I was. As I related to him, I have been one who paid my debts, never, never being late. I have also owned a home since I was 22 years of age. And even though it's been a real struggle, especially this past year to pay my mortgage payment, I have done so. I last saw Mr. MaGee yesterday. I am facing yet more battles regarding my case, even though it's just past a year from my filing. After a particularly difficult day yesterday, I asked Mr. MaGee to guide me through this. We ALL need someone who can be our advocate. I need to have someone who I can honestly speak with, who will not mince words, even though those words can be tough. He won t fill you with bull not will he accept bull. Sometimes there's tough talk. He's so ethical, he will remind you what case law is, and will not stray outside the boundaries of his moral, ethical, and legal boundaries and obligations. So if you're looking for an attorney who will show you how to conceal, how to get around your obligations, this isn't your man. But if you need counsel who's compassionate, firm when needed, smart, and on your side, Mr. MaGee is your man. Kat [removed by Avvo Staff]

Corporation Bankruptcy

Mr. MaGee, consulted with us in regards to filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy for our company. The first thing he told us was he no longer did company bankruptcy's! We would have expected this would have been the end of his free consulation, but it was not! He spent over an hour of his time at no cha...rge explaining all of our options, both personnel and corporate! I have recommended numoures individuals to Mr. MacGee and every one of them has nothing, but positive things to state about their experience with him I would recommend Mr. MaGee for any leagl matters you may have. If he is not able to support you he will take the time to make sure you understand your options and point you in the right direction!! Tom
