strung along for over half a year with nothing to show for it

this was supposed to be a simple case. this lawyer makes it feel as if youre not a big case, you will just be pushed to the back every single time and then they extract all your retainer by delaying, rescheduling, and then never doing anything so that you have to call just for them to say they will d...o something, and then do nothing and then get charged for their negligence and then have it all happen all over again over and over. 90% of our fees were just from trying to get answers and get things moving, being promised something would be done soon, and then just get lied to and told other cases are being worked on and im assuming just because they will make more money for this firm. if you dont have a big case, look elsewhere because you are not important in the slightest to these people. they will happily take you in just to milk you dry while doing nothing at all for you. We were constantly told we would get updates or callbacks just to wait 2-3 weeks since we didnt want to be too pushy before calling again. well after 8 months, i have to say this was the biggest waste of money. They set us up with scenarios just so we would have to contact them to waste more money time after time. if youre not going to take cases seriously then dont take on the clients you dont care about. its been an aggravating and pathetic excuse for a "service" that every single person at this firm has given to us. multiple people all did the same exact thing. It makes you think that this is a strategy that they all know to do just to get more money from people they feel they wont be able to get the entire retainer from...

Rude and inconsiderate!!

We called in to schedule an appointment, and our appointment was scheduled for the next day at 6?6:30 pm. we got there at 6:15 pm because we know there is always some paper work that needs to be filled. Right after we got there another couple came in with kids and they were also scheduled for 6:30 pm.... I guess a little mistake is not a problem. Anyways... He finally saw us at 7:05 pm and during our conversation while I explained why I left the country for a year to take care of my brother who had terminal cancer he came up with the most rude and unthoughtful comment I ever heard from somebody: "It would have been better for you if your brother had waited another year to get sick". My brother passed away last September and I would give anything for him to still be here with us. I could not believe he made that comment! There are a lot of lawyers out there, and I know they hear all kinds of different stories from people but that does not give them the right to be disrespectful. I do not recommend him to anyone. If he can be that rude with his clients, I wonder what kind of representation he does for them? Be aware, take your time and make sure you hire a decent attorney to represent you. It`s hard enough on itself having to go through a bankruptcy process. You don`t need the aggravation of an inconsiderate lawyer to make matters worse.

'went to court twice with out him ,He had a proxy but not the same as having your own lawyer.Lack of communications between his staff and him..Left messages no return calls. Talked to staff and got conflicting answers from the lawyer. His plus side is he is knowledgabeable.

NO Communication and incorrect billing on invoice

I made first contact with James Magee’s office and was given an appointment for the Olympia office on 7/17. My husband and I met with James and he asked a few questions but did not really dive as deep as we would have hoped. However he was confident he could get us the outcome we were requesting so w...e paid the $200 initial fee to secure his services. Over the next few days My husband and I came up with some questions and issues that we needed further clarification on so I called and left messages requesting James to call me back. Messages were left as follows: 7/23 1m11s Request for call back 7/26 @ 10:48am 49s Request for call back 7/26 @ 3:22pm 47s Asked Mary when James would call me back. 7/29 @ 8:46am 4m2s Includes hold time. Talked with male assistant but he couldn’t answer questions. I requested Magee call me back again 7/29 @ 8:57am 2m41s Called back to request specific callback time. Talked with Mary she was sorry MaGee hasn’t called me back yet. 7/30 @ 3:06pm 42s Left message with Mary to have James call me. Still no call back regarding my questions. 7/31 @ 9:44am 1m42s Called and told Mary we will cancel if we don’t get a call back 8/2 @ 2:10pm 1m22s Called to cancel. Requested $200 back for Attorney nonperformance and also requested original documents that were previously left to be mailed back. 8/10 RCVD Letter in the mail showing a $295 charge. He charged $177.50 for what was supposed to be a free consultation plus a slew of additional charges for “Archive File” “Assemble disengagement letter” “copy costs” and others. I am currently filing a report with the BBB and starting possible litigation with the Attorney who is handling additional matters for me if James Magee does not return my original documents and the $200.

Would Not Recommend Mr. Magee

Mr. Magee and his staff, in no way, treat us as valued clients. In our dealings with he and his staff, we never felt our questions/concerns were ever really addressed. Their response to any questions we had were always rushed, many times not elaborating in any way other than to say "Don't worry abo...ut it". Mr. Magee was never available. When he did meet with us, he was very difficult to work with. He made several comments to us that were quite rude and continuously made us feel unimportant by being late and unprepared. At our first court date, we looking forward to finally have Mr. Magee address some questions/concerns we had that weren't sufficiatly answered by his staff. At the last minute, Mr. Magee chose to send another attorney to step in for him. She knew nothing about our case nor seemed to care. Once again, not providing the assistance we were needing. Our experience with Mr. Magee and his staff made our difficult situation that much more difficult.
