Tireless and Honorable

Tireless and honorable are the two words I feel best describes how Spencer Thal worked on my behalf. One of the things I appreciated was that Spencer returned my inquiry request a mere hour after it was sent...on a Saturday morning. Spencer was personable, always reachable, and consistent in his ...approach. He worked on my behalf, in what appeared to be a helpless situation, to help me receive exactly what I hoped for. I cannot thank him enough for the way he sought to seek out justice on behalf of my family and I.

Car crash injuries

Spencer represented me on two occasions after I had been rear ended injuring my neck. He dealt with the insurance companies which relieved me of that stress. He regularly kept me updated on his progress. The settlements he was able to procure on my behalf were well beyond my expectations. Spencer was... always kind and I had the sense he was truly working in my best interests. He demonstrated true compassion for my suffering with major neck trauma requiring surgeries. I would strongly recommend Spencer to anyone seeking representation following any type of injury.

Consummate Professional

This being our first time hiring an attorney, my wife and I were quite nervous. She had been rear-ended by a drunk driver at high-speed while stopped at an intersection. Four of her neck vertebrae were broken and she was unconscious at the scene. After emergency surgery she had a long recovery peri...od. Lucky to be alive. We hired Spencer to help us settle the insurance, medical, and all legal opportunities for minimizing the negative impact on our lives. Spencer was always patient and clear. He made certain that we thoroughly understood every action every step of the way. This was very important to us. He made us feel comfortable asking stupid questions. He took us to a place of very realistic expectations, and he did everything he said he would do. For me the bottom line is this. Because of Spencer's legal expertise, care, and thoroughness, I am completely satisfied that the outcome was the optimum possible. Spencer Thal, consummate professional. Peace of mind, priceless.

Labor Negotiations Extroardinaire

Spencer negotiated our recent labor contract with us. His genius at the table is subtle to notice, but eventually you find him playing dumb, asking silly questions, and delaying the process long enough for him to give thought to all the minutiae of the question at hand to ensure that he's got every f...ine detail. He's asking small questions about this or that when really he's biding his time so he can think about the whole. Combine that with a very open-handed negotiation style that leaves nothing to mystery and you get a very fast, cooperative effort on the part of both sides to come up with a deal. The reason he can be so open about strategy and negotiation is because he has a complete mastery of strategy and negotiation. He pays attention to what comes out on the paper and works the offers and counter offers more soundly than the opposition. It's in this way that he's able to say something like, "Yeah, we really feel the 2% mark is the best one, so we'll go ahead and just wait for you to agree to that one."

Please do not retain and please be aware !!!!

Please do not retain and please be aware. My family and I retained Spencer and his law firm in an employment matter and received nothing more but true disappointment. This attorney is the type of attorney that will leave you “high and dry” as he sees fits to do so, Spencer is the type of attorney ...that will lead you and your family into believing that true justice is on your side and that he is there to obtain it for you. That is not the case in any form or fashion! Spencer will not take any true responsibility for his actions and will put the “blame game” on you if it comes to the any type of deterioration of the client/ attorney relationship. His communication skills are subpar (once more, will not take full responsibility for his lack of real communication skills and will tend to submit documentation to the defendant without your consent as the client ) and this is what will lead you down the road to trouble with his firm. Spencer is not the type of attorney who is truly interested in the the long haul of your case/claim and will withdraw if it becomes too difficult and or he does not concur with what you desire as the client in your case. But is most certainly there to collect any type money that he can benefit from you and your claim. Truly, if you and your family are seeking justice in your claim, then this is NOT the attorney or firm for you. Please seek true justice in another more competent attorney!!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
