Defamation suit and PERC Complaint
Lauren stood by our side for nearly five years while we were attacked by our own union and their lawyers. She won the bigger part of the lawsuit and if the PERC system wasn't so rigged toward unions, she should have won that too. While my faith in our justice system is severely shaken and my faith in unions is almost destroyed, this is the one shining example of a true legal professional who cares about her clients first and will take on any and all lawyers, unions or government bureaucracies that are destroying people's lives. If you have a problem that seems insurmountable against a union, an employer or especially a government bureaucracy then Lauren is a must to hire!! She also won't BS you just to make a buck. She will be honest about your chances of winning a case. She became like family by the time our five year ordeal had ended and we were almost sad because she was so awesome and we will truly miss her.

PERC Complaint
We retained Lauren to fight our union in PERC and to represent us in a defamation lawsuit. Lauren provided excellent counsel for us and even successful in obtaining a protection order for us. Even though our outcome wasn't favorable for PERC, it was for the lawsuit. But Lauren was upfront and honest about our chances and kept us well informed. It was a lengthy lawsuit with appeals on both sides. Lauren was tenacious. I really liked that she was available through text, email, or phone and explained all the matters and our options...Lauren believed in us... the length of time in the Court was the failure of legal system and in no way a reflection of Lauren's work. There isn't room enough in this box for me to express how grateful we are for all she has done for us. Thank you Lauren.....

Best legal experience I could hope for
When I was unfairly discharged from my previous employer and denied unemployment, it rocked my world. A good friend who had a similar problem recommended Mrs. Berkowitz and I gave her a call. She walked me through the process with expert guidance. Her fantastic knowledge of the situation and kind demeanor really helped make a highly stressful situation much easier to deal with. I'm incredibly grateful for the successful case, but even more grateful for how much stress she took off my mind during this ordeal. This amazing woman knows her stuff.

Thoughtful, Prepared & Calming
Lauren took the time to listen to my case, ask clarifying questions, and - what's more - validate my experiences. I cannot stress how empowering it was to hear that I was not alone and that what I was experiencing was real; it made the difference between me following through on my case and dropping it. With active listening, obvious expertise and clear direction, Lauren guided me through an emotional mediation by setting expectations, answering questions immediately (sometimes in the middle of the night!) and always telling me the truth - even if it was difficult to hear. Unemployment Benefit Appeal
I was wrongfully terminated from my job and denied unemployment benefits. Lauren was personable and knowledgeable about common appeal pitfalls. She assessed the strength of my case, navigated me through the legal paperwork, followed up on all of my outgoing paperwork, gave me constant updates, made sure that I felt comfortable answering cross-examination questions, and helped me win my appeal.
