Excellent Divorce Counsel

Jeff was my divorce attorney in a difficult and long divorce process. I appreciated his calmness and knowledge. He always represented my best interests. I trust his counsel and highly recommend.

Knowledgeable, Professional and Experienced

Jeff has taken on a difficult divorce and works hard to represent my interests. He’s to the point, honestly explains my legal options and possible outcomes as I navigate this stressful and frustrating divorce process. He respects my situation and listens to me. Most importantly I trust his advice and... knowledge.

Worth every $

Jeff helped me through a difficult, high conflict divorce. He was the second lawyer that I worked with during my divorce process. The first lawyer wasn't able to move the case forward at all and Jeff finished it and got me my settlement upfront within 8 months. Jeff was a great advocate for me... and I'd recommend him to anyone. I'm really glad I invested in a good lawyer, he's 100% worth it

JEFF WORKS MAGIC IN THE COURT ROOM!

I hired Jeff in the face of a nasty divorce and the unexpectedly combative approach of my ex-wife. I was taken by surprise by what turned out to be a well-orchestrated plan. It began with a restraining order served on me at the work place followed quickly by a series of revelations that she had manip...ulated utility accounts and other financial transactions in an attempt to demonstrate claims to a share of my home that I fully owned outright prior to our marriage. She made unreasonable demands for alimony despite only two years of marriage, no children, and that she had her own roughly equal earning history during the marriage. The service of the restraining order in front of my colleagues left me humiliated, heartbroken to realize instantly that our marriage was over, confused, scared, hurt and angry. Bottom line: I was freaking out and needed advice. Over a period of two days, I met three different lawyers – Jeff was the last. The first two wouldn’t and/or couldn’t offer me any practical advice, or a sense that they would be the person committed to being on my side and helping me navigate the path ahead. Jeff was real and I felt I could communicate with him easily. In the first meeting he helped me understand what was going on and offered advice on the best way to proceed. More importantly, he inspired confidence that he could and would navigate this nightmare with me. After I engaged him, he immediately assigned a series of practical tasks that would safeguard my financial interests that later proved extremely useful in bringing about a negotiated settlement. I only had to go to court once to contest the restraining order. I initially was emotionally distraught and thus disinclined to contest the RO because I had no intention of making further contact with my ex. Jeff, however, after some consideration and research, recommended that we contest the order. The day of the court case, I was a panicked when I saw the array of “witnesses” that my ex-wife had brought to trial. However, Jeff reassured me. What unfolded was watching an artist create a masterpiece. He knew what to do, how to do it and how to help keep me calm during the whole ordeal. I was like a duck on a pond; calm on top, going a mile a minute underneath. I was so devastated by the lies made under oath! After more than two hours into our three-hour allotted total time, I was increasingly frightened that I would lose. But Jeff kept me calm. When it was finally his turn to cross examine my ex-wife, ten minutes in Jeff discredited her testimony and showed that the legal requirements for issuing the RO had not been met. He then turned to the judged, moved for dismissal, the judge agreed, and then lectured the opposing attorney of her failure to prove her case. Bottom line: I was out of the courtroom with the restraining order dropped. Jeff’s cross examination was the masterpiece and I had won. The rest of the divorce process took what seemed like a long time. But compared to the experiences of others it really was only 14 months from start to finish with both parties signing a settlement without going to trial for the divorce. My advice: don’t expect a divorce to be a short endeavor, especially when your ex holds any kind of animosity. Jeff is smart, quick and little cocky but not overly so, and surly not disrespectful. For me, it was just the right combination of the qualities you would want for your divorce lawyer. The practice could improve its communications with clients given busy attorney schedules, I felt in limbo at times. This would help reassure clients when waiting on the other side, which can be very nerve-wracking. Emails, text message or check-ins every few weeks would help ease client anxiety. Jeff is fair priced and worth his money tenfold. Thank you so much Jeff! M

The Man You Want In Your Corner

I’ll start by saying divorce is terrible and leaves you lost in all aspects of life, especially when kids are involved. On top of the processing of everything going on around you there are legalities, responses and things that must be taken care of when you are not in your best state of mind. Not k...nowing where to start I began searching for attorneys in Bend based on internet reviews. I was very uncertain and uncomfortable placing mine and my child’s fate in the hands of someone I personally knew nothing about based on reviewers I knew nothing about including how they review based on personal coping and end results. The laws and court system are fixed and the only in between is your legal council’s understanding of the law and expression through representation. Jeffrey Traylor is very ethical, rational and professional. His priority is his client’s personal outcome and his reputation as not being the typical stereotyped lawyer. He placed things into clear perspective instead of dragging on fights that neither party wins in the end (which a lot of lawyers will do because fighting equals money). Jeff’s calm attitude and level headed thinking made me worry about his ability to fight in court. Unfortunately, I got to see Jeff in court as well since my opposing council’s representation was everything Jeff was not. In court Jeff is a bulldog. He is well prepared, understands the law and does not get manipulated by a quick sidebar settlement that falls short of what his client fully wants. I started off wondering if I had the right lawyer the morning before court and left wanting nobody else in my corner but Jeffrey Traylor if things came down to it. In the end it is always best to determine your own fate and outcomes and try to settle, but without Jeff’s representation and guidance person to person I do not believe options to negotiate would have been present. From my experience Jeffrey Traylor is a man of integrity and a hell of an attorney that cares about families after everything is settled. Even without outcomes being ideal I can honestly say Jeff didn’t fall short on doing his job at any point in time. As things arose Jeff had actions in place so I was never caught off guard or surprised. He works for his client even when it’s not visible and he always makes time to address your concerns and emergencies. I was extremely pleased knowing lawyers like Jeff exist. In the end I got what mattered most to me which was 50/50 custody and parenting time and without Jeff’s representation transitioning to life after divorce would have been a lot more of a struggle.

"I am both a peer as well as a client of Jeff's. He built a reputation for professionalism in the Portland Metro area after starting his own practice in the Sellwood/Westmoreland area and I have never heard anything but praise for his work ethic within the legal community. Thus, in 2011 when I was struck by a vehicle while riding my bicycle I immediately retained Jeff to handle my personal injury claim and to deal with the insurance company involved. Jeff dealt with the matter in a timely manner and left me very impressed with the way he handles business (he constantly kept me updated on my case and provided me with realistic expectations regarding his time-frame). I endorse Jeffrey Traylor."
