Stay away

She was ok for my divorce, but totally dropped the ball on my custody case. My x-husband and his lawyer out smarted her and she was unprepared. I lost my son to his crazy father. I highly do not recommend Jessica.

I am sorry you feel that I was unprepared for your custody matter. You have posted anonymously so it is impossible for me to know who you are. I do not have any current or recent clients who are unhappy with my services and fit your profile. This may be an opposing party. I would be happy to discuss this matter more offline to ensure its accuracy and see what I could do to rectify the situation and make sure no other client feels this way in the future.

Waste of money

Jessica did a horrible job representing me in court. She stumbled on her words and seemed under educated. She helped my ex more then me.

No thanks

I retained this attorney for a custody modification case. As other reviews have stated, she did not appear to want to be an advocate for me at all, and it felt like pulling teeth to get basic information from her. Her attitude during our consultation was quite off putting, and I felt as if I wasn't n...eeded or wanted as a paying customer/client. When she left the firm she was at to start a new one, I declined to join her as a client. You should too.

I am sorry you felt that I was not going to advocate for you. However, I do not believe you actually retained me as your attorney. Out of all my clients, very few (two) decided to stay at my old firm. The rest were happy to go with me. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me offline so that we can constructively talk about your concerns.

Poor Consultation

I paid Jessica Pedemonte a $100 fee for an hour consultation starting at 10:00 A.M. She led me into her office at 10:10 and then completed the consultation at 10:40 for a total of about 30 minutes. During the consultation, I told her about a case that I wanted an advocate for with DHS. Rather than te...lling me what all of my options might be, she concluded before knowing any of the facts that I would lose a case with them (she did not even mention I could defend myself in a case with them), and then tried to convince me that losing is not so bad. The issue had to do with child custody, and she tried to minimize the importance of custodial rights without knowing any details of my situation. I had to bring up the possibility of particular options, but she did not pursue these very far and frankly seemed unwilling to help me. Contrary to her claim on her website, she is definitely not an aggressive advocate, and she charged me for an hour's time but only spent 30 minutes with me.

I am sorry you had a bad experience in the consultation. I strive to give every potential client sound legal advise, including any potential pitfalls of a case. In every consultation I discuss parent's rights as a custodial or non-custodial parent. It is important to me that every person walks out of my office armed with more information than they started the meeting with. At the conclusion of a consultation I ask if the person has any questions and once I have answered them all the consultation comes to a close. This sometimes takes more or less than an hour. I hope you are able to find someone that is a better fit.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
