I grew up in the swamplands of Southeast Texas, in a town where nearly everyone either worked at one of the oil refineries or at the enormous Mark Stiles Unit prison. In a town like that, you can find hard times and injustices just about everywhere. I learned early on, however, that a person can choose to allow the tough things of life to get them down and keep them down, or they can choose to dedicate his or her life to the service of the public. I come from a long line of people dedicated to doing the latter.
Growing up my family members were farmers, educators, small business owners, members of the Secret Service or various branches of the US Armed Forces, and people who, no matter what they did, put doing what’s best for all first. I joined the practice of law to put this into practice for the good of the people of Oregon. I spent two of my three years of law school working for the DistrictAttorney’s Office, gaining invaluable knowledge on Oregon law and the criminal process. I was certified by the Oregon Supreme Court to practice early, which means during my third year of law school, at the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, I functioned as a DA, handling my own caseload, taking matters to trial and making countless court appearances. The sum of these family and educational experiences have provided me with an education far superior and more practical than many of my peers, making me uniquely situated to serve my clients in their most trying of times.
On a personal note, I have spent time living and working in many locales from California to Wisconsin to Russia. I am married and the father of three lovely children.

One of the best attorneys we have ever worked with! From the very onset of his representation we felt like we could trust him. There was no B.S. just the facts, and the know how to get the job done. I would highly recommend Joshua Pond and intend to hire him to help with some estate planning.
