To be honest , I really didn't expect a response ...Not only did I get one, but in less than 10 min from posting it! Mr Abbott , you have no idea the service you gave me. Im at my witts end with people not doing what's right. I don't understand it , and it disgusts me . I want to ruffle feathers on pure principle not to mention the legality of my situation. I know my situation isn't the worst but it is illegal. They expect us not to do anything for fear of retaliation (which they've tried already) but I'm done being bullied because I'm disabled and have no money...I want to make a point beyond winning of course but for others like me. Make a stand and hope my situation helps others to fight back with theirs.... You gave me the support I needed to find my strength again and not be a victim. (Obviously, this isn't the only thing that brought me down ) pretty dramatic I know...but you helped me back up, nonetheless! Thank you , I wish you were local...

Gregory helped me with a Possessory Lien filed against me for a car that I once owned, but sold. Unfortunately DMV identified me as owner and I was threatened with collections to cover the exorbitantly high costs of towing and storage. He was honest about my chances and also clearly suggested what I could do about the situation. Ultimately, a high level person at DMV in Salem intervened and no longer is there a threat of this hovering over my head. Without this attorney's consult, I would not have handled this situation correctly.

Knows the law, many of the technicalities and what courts tend to value in decision-making. And willing to share. Bottom line -- be sure lease is comprehensive and legal in Oregon or your state, before you sign. Disappointed (nothing to do with Greg) that in Oregon owner-occupied, multiple family dwellings ('rooming house') have limited Tenant protections from Landlord intrusion, unless spelled out correctly in lease. (East Coast a bit more stringent.)

Mr. Abbott is very knowledgeable and provided a free consult that helped me tremendously on an eviction case. I am contacting him again for a small claim as I feel he will provide good legal advice. I would really recommend anyone to him. He is very through and explains everything.

I consulted with Mr. Abbott on a business contract issue that was both personally stressful and legally complex. Mr. Abbott very obligingly met with me after normal business hours to work with my schedule, and was both extremely professional and reassuring. He was generous with his time and attention, gave a great deal of useful advice about business best practices and strategy, and was exceptionally ethical in his suggestions going forward. In early Fall of 2015 we had a dispute with a tenant over payment of rent and rat infestation in the crawlspace that was handled very timely. The tenant got a lawyer to send us threatening letters and refused to pay rent which was hugely stressful. I did a bunch of research to find someone who had a lot of experience and skills at handling Landlord/Tenant Law. Greg’s reviews seemed frank and honest and I am very glad we chose him as our attorney. It took a couple of months and the tenant pulled out all the stops in fighting us, but we were able to evict the tenant and get a judgment. Greg was always calm and explained things in detail so we could make educated decisions. His experience with the courts and more importantly with the human element of the conflict in these situations is really invaluable. He gave us good advice and I’m glad we took it. One thing that struck me as a client is that he loves practicing law and loves advocating for his clients. Always a good thing in the lawyer you are hiring! We will definitely use him again if we need an attorney, and we will recommend him to our friends.

Landlord-tenant issues. Greg knew the law. He gave me great advice. He met me after my work hours which was really helpful. While the law in Oregon tends to favor the tenant, Greg kept me on the 'good side' of the law, advised me what and what not to do. I would totally recommend Greg, and would use him again (hopefully I won't have to).

I have had the good fortune of having Gregory L Abbott answer some Property Management questions that I have posted and in each case I received a concise, thorough, and professional response. I have also read his responses to questions posted by others which has further enriched my knowledge as a Property Manager. I would not hesitate to hire him to represent me should the need ever arise as I have full confidence of his knowledge of the Oregon Landlord Tenant and Fair Housing laws. Greg was very thorough and prompt with his response to my legal tenant lanlord law inquiry. He then followed up with a recommendation to my particular situation. For someone to be so generous of their time and expertise for no financial gain says alot to this mans character. Unfortunately he doesn't practice in San Diego so I wouldn't be able to retain his services. Thanks again Greg your the best.

I'm a business attorney but occasionally I'm asked to answer a landlord-tenant question by a client, neighbor or friend. Greg has always been extremely responsive and provides his guidance and suggestions in a clear, easy-to-understand fashion. When a question recently came up on my own rental, Greg provided excellent guidance. He understands that emotions can run high when it comes to your home and provides measured but compassionate guidance. I highly recommend him!

As novice landlord trying to navigate the statutes alone is a very daunting task at best. In my case I thought I had dotted my i's and crossed my t's only to discover, after my tenants hired an attorney, that I misread a portion of my lease agreement. After being contacted by my tenants attorney. Mr. Abbott reviewed my documents and educated me on several items both with my lease agreement and the landlord tenant law itself. I quickly discovered that Mr. Abbott takes pride in not only advising you on what you CAN do in a particular circumstance, but also what may be more appropriate. His experience with the legal process is invaluable as he has see so many different cases and scenarios, that I felt very confident each step of the way. While I had made stumbles in the beginning, he was able to correct my course and I was able to get possession back and move on. I feel that Greg was more than fair with regard to his billing of time. A point I would like also mention is his work and time. Greg works later in the day which is really nice, because I was able to avoid missing work during the day to meet with him, we were able to meet at night. I was impressed with the depth of detail he was able to provide me on several issues and really just can not say enough for his commitment to provide proper details so you can make an educated decision. Something, I can tell you that my tenants attorney did not feel was necessary for them. If you are in need of legal advice or counsel from either the position of landlord or tenant, I dont believe you could find a better advocate than Mr. Abbott. He will be fair. He will be honest, but most of all he will have your best interests in mind.
