David N Eder

also known as David Eder

About me

David Eder is partner at Thuemmel, Uhle & Eder.  David and his partners are widely regarded as some of the most talented, hardest advocating and most effective trial lawyers in the State of Oregon.  US news has rated the four partners in the firm as Tier 1 rating in the United States for the topics of Personal Injury, DUII and Criminal Law.  This is the only firm in Oregon to receive this distinction.  David handles all types of litigation but focuses primariy on vehicle cases - Personal Injury and D.U.I.I.

David works every case like it is going to trial.  This approach is time consuming but has produced incredible results.  The firm firmly believes that if you don't prepare a case like it will go to trial, you do not have any bargaining position to settle.

The four partners at Thuemmel, Uhle & Eder have tried over 2,000 jury trials.  The firm does not adverstise and has built a practice based on referrals from other lawyers and former clients.

David has been a featured speaker on Trial Skills, Prosecuting and Defending D.U.I.I.s, Deposition/Administrative hearings, Cross-Examination and Advanced Litigation techniques.  David has spent time working with the crash reconstruction teams, major crime divisions, D.U.I.I. units and the lead attorney on various civil litigation matters.  His experience as a prosecutor and civil litigator adds a tremendous asset to any criminal or personal injury case.  David has extensive knowledge of the vehicle code, medical record review, case negotiation, deposition and trial skills.

David has been named nationally as one of the Top 1% of Lawyers by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.  In 2015 and 2016, David was ranked by Super Lawyers as one of the top 2.5% in the field of Personal Injury and D.U.I.I. defense. He was also awarded the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from the University of Oregon School of law for his success in his first 10 years of practice. David is the only lawyer in the State to be named one of the top 25 lawyers under the age of 40 for the three years the Daily Journal of Commerce ranked the 5,000 lawyers in the State of Oregon.  In 2010, David attended the National Advocacy Center jury selection training for lawyers that tried over 50 jury trials and received the top score from this national trial college and an invitation to return as an instructor.

He has also been a featured guest lecturer on trial skills and cross-examination of expert witnesses at Lewis and Clark School of Law and the University of Oregon School of Law.

You will not find a more practical, reasonable and effective lawyer than David Eder.

David grauted from the University of Oregon School of Law and was the school's mock trial and negotiation moot court competion winner.  David has served as the Chair of the Oregon New Lawyers Division and spearheaded a project to help underemployed or unemployed lawyers receive practical skill building job opportunities.  This program was named the National Outstanding Young Lawyer Project for the entire country by the American Bar Association in 2010.
