Biography
David Eder is here to advocate for you. He has been recognized locally and nationally as one of the top trial attorneys in Oregon and Washington (also licensed in Federal Court). Whether guiding a grieving family through wrongful death litigation, forcing an insurance company to fully compensate a client injured in a car crash, subject to medical malpractice or school/medical office sex abuse cases, David is willing to work around the clock. David is an experienced trial lawyer that prepares every case like it will go to trial. He works tirelessly and effectively on behalf of his clients, and the results are obvious. David has been a Super Lawyer by national publications as well as one of the top 10 trial lawyers in the country. Early in his career, in 2010-2012, David was named one of the top 25 lawyers in the State of Oregon under the age of 40. Also in 2011, David was invited to teach a course on jury selection at the National Advocacy Center after receiving the top grade in an intensive course for prosecutors from around the country. David speaks annually as a guest lecturer at the University of Oregon and Lewis & Clark law schools on the topics of cross-examination and trial practice.
Before joining Eder Sturm & Eder (formerly Thuemmel, Uhle & Eder), David was an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Beaverton. David’s prosecution experience included handling thousands of vehicle-related cases including D.U.I.I. cases, traffic crimes/violations as well as civil litigation and major crimes work. David’s specialized knowledge of the vehicle code and litigation experience have been invaluable in criminal and civil cases. David has achieved significant verdicts and settlements on personal injury cases which has resulted in other personal injury lawyers requesting that he handle their trials as well. He has tried over 100 jury trials and has substantial experience in arbitration, mediation, negotiations and trial work. David is dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation to those in need.
In his free time, David enjoys cooking, running and spending time with his wife and two children.
Professionally:
David has been a gues lecturer at Lewis & Clark School of law for the last 10 years on the topic of cross-examination. He was the chair of the Oregon New Lawyers Division in 2013. In 2010, David developed a program to help underemployed and unemployed lawyers receive training from nonprofit organizations. This program helped lawyers get valuable experience, often resulting in a full-time position. The program was recognized by the American Bar Association where it was named Young Lawyer Section Program of the Year as the best program in the country.
