Javier Demetrio Rios

Mr. Rios was great. Though he was at capacity with his case loads and was not able to represent me he personally returned my phone call in a very timely manner. He took his time and answered all my questions and was very informative. He was also kind enough to provide me with a referral to another at...torney and a bail bond company that he recommended. My only regret was not being able to retain Mr. Rios as my attorney.

I feel really lucky to have stumbled across Javier while looking for lawyers for a bad DUI case. He helped me get the ball rolling on what I needed to do to help my chances at a more favorable outcome. He was very straight forward with me about what he could possibly do for me given the case and didn...'t try to sell me any fantasies. Very easy to talk to and listens to your whole story. Kept me up to date at every step and was able to reach him at any time with near immediate responses. In the end we were able to get the best possible outcome and I am extremely grateful for all of his help.

I was arrested in 2020 after I was assaulted and beat up by multiple people. The people that attacked me dropped a weapon and I picked it up and used it to defend myself. The people that attacked me lied about the situation to the police lied on the body cam footage on camera and Javier Rios did noth...ing to try and prove these lies even though it was right there on camera. He tried to convince me to offer 12 years 10 years 15 years of my life for defending myself. He did nothing but stress me out and every time after talking to him I would get super depressed and have no hope for my life. After several months of sitting in jail I was finally fed up with Javier Rios and his horrible advice. He is a fraud he took 30,000 and did nothing to try and help. I reviewed my own paper work and would mention certain things to him and he would tell me that “It wouldn’t work”. He would tell me I would be lucky if I didn’t get life on my case. That his goal was for me to not get life and that would be a win for him. So if a had gotten 20 years for defending myself that would have been a win in his eyes. After I fired him I was assigned to a public defender Christopher Van Mier. Right off the bat he told me there was no way it was a life case. I mentioned all of the things I had mentioned to Javier, that would possibly help my case. He looked into it and saw what I saw and used it. I ended up getting sentenced to a year county time, so 6 months. Christopher helped me out and got me sent to another department and I ended up getting released only 3 weeks after I was sentenced, but according to Javier he knew the DA wouldn’t even agree to 10 years. I could have thrown 10+ years away of my life if I would have stayed with Rios. Firing him was the best choice I had made my entire life. I lost 30,000 to this fraud but I got my life back. Don’t hire him. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He would tell me that he has won 100’s of murder cases and trials and all of this other stuff but he didn’t even know how to use the county jail attorney phone. He would say max time for this is 7 no 5 no wait 6 years, it showed he had no idea what he was doing. If you hire him you will be throwing away your money to this lazy stupid guy that knows nothing of law. All he will do is stress you out and give you no hope at all. He doesn’t try to hear you out and listen to you. All he wants is to get paid and doesn’t care what happens to his clients. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. I hope he gets reported and gets his license taken away because he is a fraud.
