Jonah Chaplin Chew

Jonah saved my life. I was facing two charges - DUI with refusal enhancement and a hit and run with property damage. I'm so glad I decided to choose Jonah as my attorney. Getting my first DUI was an experience full of uncertainty, fear, and an overall feeling that I had never felt before. From the first day I met him, I knew I was in good hands. His cool and calm attitude definitely put me at ease. He is straight t...o the point and doesn't BS the facts.. but you just know having him on your side is extremely beneficial. I was facing some pretty serious charges that should have landed me in jail. He instructed me on what I should do prior to sentencing (start a drug/alcohol dependency program, enroll in dui classes, stay out of trouble, etc..). After a year of going to court.. I was able to stay out of jail and am on probation. I was facing 3 felonies but he was able to knock it down to one which will hopefully be dropped down to a misdemeanor after my 3 years of probation. Without going into too much detail.. I could easily have faced a minimum of 6 months in jail. He was always there throughout the process and answered any and all of my questions with detail. His demeanor with the judges, court clerks, and other attorneys let's you know he is experienced and well-liked. Hopefully, there never comes a time I will need his services again.. but I now know who to call if there ever comes a day that I or one of my friends ever need a great attorney. Thank you, Jonah.

So my review could take up at least a couple of pages, and without going into detail’s, here is my situation and outcome with Jonah Chew. I had racked up multiple DUI cases and another felony case within a 12 to 15 month period, and I was going to PRISON, no way around that. I was already on SFAPD pr...obation and I was calling law firm’s all over the Bay Area, to get myself out of this bad situation I created, and finally called Jonah Chew. I needed a lawyer who knew SF criminal law, and who had a reputation that was respected by his fellow colleagues, and prosecutors alike, because I was hoping only for a lenient deal, because dismissal was out of the question. Well guess what? I got a few dismassal’s (Unreal), and a minor probation violation out of the whole ordeal that lasted the better part of a year in court, and I couldn’t have had a better outcome. He know’s everyone at the Hall of Justice, and that comes in handy if your up against the rope’s in Superior Court, and need someone to fight for you, and his reputation speak’s for itself. TAKE MY ADVICE, don’t WALK, you need to RUN to his office, if you have a court date, because he is the most aggressive, respected, and no nonsense lawyer I have ever encountered. Take my advice, and thank me later, because he will do, the undoable, and get you the best outcome, of your legal situation.

Jonah and his team are the best to work with. They really took their time to explain to me in detail what my options are for my DUI case. After having my first meeting with Jonah, I felt a lot less worried about my situation since I know he and his team will be handling everything from start to finis...h. Throughout the process of fighting my case, Jonah communicated with me frequently on updates and guided me every step of the way. Jonah is a PHENOMENAL lawyer. Sometimes, good people find themselves in a tough situation. DUIs happen and when they do, they are costly, time-consuming and down-right scary as hell. My husband was charged with a second DUI involving an accident with two other motorists in SF. Luckily, no one... was hurt, but he was still facing felony charges (with jail time) for having a high BAC and committing a second offense while just being shy of completing the probation period from his first DUI. We called Jonah after reading rave reviews, and can 100% say that Jonah *is* the lawyer you're looking for. RESULTS: My husband's case was dropped from a felony to a misdemeanor. He spent three days doing SWAP and avoided any jail time. He was able to drive again, sooner than expected (with an IID.) My husband's employer never found out about his DUI because Jonah coordinated his monthly court dates with his days off. We are currently looking into reducing his probation requirements now that his DUI school has been completed. This is only possible if you hire a GREAT lawyer. HOW JONAH'S DIFFERENT: - he works *directly* with you and your case - he is *very* responsive (via phone, text and email) - he has a great personality - is honest and genuinely cares about you, and funny too - he knows to share just enough with you regarding your next court date to keep you calm and collected.... he will guide you throughout your process so you can try to live as normal of a life until your case is settled - his appearance is sharp, clean and he has the mental toughness you need to win in court - and more importantly, he is one of the most well-connected criminal defense lawyers in SF. He knows the judges, public defendants and the system very, very well. Ask any one of them and they will speak of him in high regard. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: - listen to what Jonah says and just do it. If you need to live in a residential treatment program to not only fix a problem that you may have, do it and go above and beyond. It'll be good for you personally, and the results of your case. - You will be shooting yourself in the foot if you pass on hiring Jonah. Whether it be your first, second or third DUI, Jonah knows his craft very well. Months after our case was finished, we happened to run into Jonah at a ballgame and he gave us two big hugs. (It was great seeing him outside of his suit.) If you can't already tell by all the reviews, he's practically Superman. Back in NY, we'd say he's "one, helluva guy." We are grateful for him. We don't write reviews, but created this account just so we can write one for Jonah. Hope this review helps someone who's on the fence.
