Your case involved a DUI with Great Bodily Injury (GBI), which is classified as a felony and carried serious consequences—including over six years in state prison. Given those circumstances, I personally reviewed all discovery and worked closely with the attorneys in my office throughout the duration of your case. I even met directly with the judge to advocate for a resolution that avoided prison time. While Attorney Fuguet appeared at several court hearings, this was done under my direction and with full knowledge of your case status. The continuances were not unnecessary delays—they were part of a strategic effort over the course of a year to secure the best possible outcome. Ultimately, you were offered and accepted a plea deal that significantly reduced your exposure: no state prison time. You were fully informed of your right to go to trial, and we would have supported you fully had you chosen that route. I understand this process can be difficult, but we devoted nearly a year of litigation to avoid far more severe consequences. I truly wish you the best moving forward.
