Joseph M. Lovretovich founded JML Law to carry out his commitment to the representation of the rights of the individual. Mr. Lovretovich was first admitted to practice law in the state of California in December 1976, and in his more than 30-year legal career, he has tried numerous cases, involving almost every type of legal claim. He has greatly expanded the rights of all California citizens by winning important court cases and has secured millions of dollars in verdicts in settlements on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Lovretovich is widely regarded as one of California’s top trial lawyers. He was principal counsel on Colmenares v. Braemar Country Club, which substantially expanded the definition of disability in California; he successfully argued the case of Dee v. Vintage Petroleum, which added substantial protections for the victims of racial prejudice; and he won in O’Hare v. MBIA, which further defined the rights of employees as parties to pre- employment mandatory arbitration agreements. Mr. Lovretovich is a frequently lecturer at legal conferences, and he mentors numerous beginning attorneys throughout California.
Joseph “Joe” Lovretovich was born in Los Angeles. His father was a LAPD officer for 35 years. Joe is a graduate of the University of Southern California and Southwestern University School of Law.

Unprofessional
Retained Mr. lovretovitch for a wrongful termination case and was highly disappointed in his handling of the case. He delegated the case to newly hired attorneys with little experience and became involved in the latter stages. He did not appear for scheduled meetings and was ignorant of some crucial ...

Mr. Lovretovich accepted my wrongful termination case in July 2012 on contingency. I worked primarily with Bradley Benham who is patient and competent beyond words. Mr. Lovretovich is a highly experienced attorney who really understands how to effectively settle a dispute. He and Mr. Benham walked ...

Great Service
Very prompt and thorough service. Reviewed an employment contract and I needed it on a strict deadline; returned it with great feedback, questions for my organization and amendments related to areas of concerns. I was armed with a great deal of insight for my negotiations.

"For years now, I have been impressed with the employment law practice of JML Law. Unlike many other firms in the employment law area, this firm is not afraid of proceeding to trial when the situation merits such. There offices in Anaheim and Woodland Hills are first class and there attorneys and paralegals are responsive."
