Joseph M. Lovretovich founded JML Law to carry out his commitment to the representation of the rights of the individual. Mr. Lovretovich was first admitted to practice law in the state of California in December 1976, and in his more than 30-year legal career, he has tried numerous cases, involving almost every type of legal claim. He has greatly expanded the rights of all California citizens by winning important court cases and has secured millions of dollars in verdicts in settlements on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Lovretovich is widely regarded as one of California’s top trial lawyers. He was principal counsel on Colmenares v. Braemar Country Club, which substantially expanded the definition of disability in California; he successfully argued the case of Dee v. Vintage Petroleum, which added substantial protections for the victims of racial prejudice; and he won in O’Hare v. MBIA, which further defined the rights of employees as parties to pre- employment mandatory arbitration agreements. Mr. Lovretovich is a frequently lecturer at legal conferences, and he mentors numerous beginning attorneys throughout California.
Joseph “Joe” Lovretovich was born in Los Angeles. His father was a LAPD officer for 35 years. Joe is a graduate of the University of Southern California and Southwestern University School of Law.

Spotty to No communication regarding case. They leave you in the dark.
Based on my personal experience, this Law office has horrible customer service. They took my case over six months ago and I am still in the dark about my case. They sent me a couple of emails and that's it. I have left numerous messages and sent emails requesting updates on my case. I have yet to get...
On April 10, 2014, this client modified his review. When I became aware of his dissatisfaction, I immediately remedied the situation and made sure there was adequate communication. Sometimes attorneys who aggressively prosecute their cases forget to keep the client in the loop. A simple directive to me as the owner corrected this problem. Ultimately this case was resolved for a very good number and the client was very happy.

Unprofessional and disrespectful to his clients...
I waited almost 3 months for Mr. Lovretovich to send me to an Orthopedic Surgeon for my back surgery. He never did. He claimed "it's hard finding a doctor to take a worker's compensation patient". First, and foremost it is our goal to satisfy our client's needs as quickly as possible. Sometimes we cannot meet client's unrealistic demands and in that instance we suggest that the client find another attorney. That is what happened here. We only suggested that she look for another attorney. Additionally, people who need workers compensation medical treatment must understand that the system is broken and we are limited in the types of doctors that treat our clients. We unfortunately cannot control their schedules. Also in this instance we did everything that we could to expedite her care. We even were able to get around the system and schedule a specialist on short notice. when our client left the facility before being treated I suggested she find another attorney that might be more successful in meeting her needs. We are sorry she is unhappy but we were kind and attentive to her needs. On the other hand she was demanding and difficult with our staff that was going out of their way to assist her.
