Alireza Alivandivafa

Mr. Alivandivafa was referred to me, and was rextremely helpful from the first time we spoke and throughout the whole process. He was really supportive, answered all my calls and questions and followed up with me afterwards. We ended up in mediation, where I was greatly impressed with Mr. Alivandivaf...a's skill and knowledge of past cases that he seemingly cited off the top of his head. He did a great job for me, I am incredibly grateful to him and highly recommend him.

You are reading this review because you are thinking about hiring Alireza. Just don’t. If Alireza is your mediator, simply request another one. As a former client, I will state without any reservation that I do NOT trust this lawyer. Don’t put your life and future in his hands. Alireza has ignored my... emails and phone calls and simply have not answered some of my direct questions. Hiring Alireza will likely worsen your current situation and create new problems. Don’t hire Alireza especially if you have to sign a “True Retainer.” Also, don’t hire Alireza if you have to pay for court costs even if you lose. Just move on to another attorney. While other lawyers just give their clients filed court documents related to their case, I had to file a complaint with the State Bar just to get copies of mine. You have to trust your lawyer. As a former client, Alireza is not a lawyer you can trust. He may seem agreeable to you when he’s trying to win your business. However, when you send him your retainer check, he will act very much differently. If you already hired Alireza, I am sorry. Keep all your “sent emails” because he will alter the original message if he responds to you. Make sure to memorialize your verbal conversations with a follow-up email because he will likely have a different account of what was actually said during that verbal discussion. (Azad Marvazy, does this ring a bell?) My recommendation is to file a complaint with the State Bar whenever Alireza ignores your emails by sending out-of-office replies or dodges your phone calls. Also, Alireza has a tendency not to be fully forthcoming with information and thus prevent you from making informed decisions. Lastly, you should be very much concerned with whom Alireza works with. If a lawyer needs to work with another lawyer from another firm, perhaps you need to hire another lawyer who has the resources and expertise within his/her own firm. Alireza sometimes works with another female lawyer named Barbara whom I do not trust as well. Steer clear of both of these attorneys.

I selected this attorney based on reviews and recommendations. However, I was really disappointed. He was not responsive and kept dodging my phone calls. He is not responsive via email. I would often have to send him a certified letter to get a response from him. Basically, his success is due to his... co-counsel. He really has bad people skills with clients and relies on his co-counsel. If you can resolve your matter without litigation, do so because this guy is the worst lawyer in the courtroom
