I hired Michael Kraut to represent me on 2nd DUI with very harsh consequences according to the law. Michael goes above and beyond to take care of his clients because he really understands that good non criminal people can have their lives destroyed by the law. He got me the bare minimum sentence po...ssible. Without his representation, I could have been in jail for months to a year, lost my job and have my life severely turned upside down. But due to him and his legal talents, I am ok. He took time from his family and weekend to make sure I was treated fairly. I owe him my life and sanity. The legal system does not always get it right in their prosecution and sentencing but he makes sure they do. I cannot say enough about my thankfulness for his services. Short Story: He's an excellent attorney and he knows what he's doing. My mom was in an unfortunate accident. The unfortunate part was someone died in the accident. She was charged with DUI/Gross Negligence Vehicular Manslaughter. This case could have ended with my mother dying in prison. I spoke... to a few people while we were deciding if we should bail her out immediately or wait for arraignment. One of which was Michael Kraut who personally answered the phone and gave me the advice of bailing her out immediately and the reasons why- he did not try to solicit us or anything- just told us exactly what to do. After bailing her out, I scheduled 6 different appts to meet with attorneys in a 48 hr period- all attorneys with high reviews on avvo or references. They were all very sympathetic and tried to convince me that they could take the case, but none had the years of DA experience that Michael Kraut had so that was our determining factor to go with him. It was also clear that he has good/personal relations with a lot of DAs and Judges. After signing the retainer with him, another high profiled criminal defense attorney finally called me back and I explained my position. He told me to call his friend who “knows everyone” since I hinted that I was not sure if we made the right decision by hiring him the day before. Although awkward, I was desperate to hear an opinion of Kraut so I did call him. And this attorney did know Kraut and said that he knows how to do a trial and he's at a different level from all the other attorneys. This case went on for almost two years and I went to almost all of the court appearances so I was able to personally watch Michael in action. He is a very nice person, but is also serious when he needs to be... he is truly serving Justice and after our experience with the unethical DAs and incompetent judges, you need to have a good criminal attorney... Now I understand why he moved from the prosecution to defense side. He's known as being a "fighter" and he really is. My mother's case ended with a misdemeanor and no jail time.

I am a professional working in my field for over 20 years, licensed by CA dept. of Consumer Affairs. My field is very competitive at my level but I have fortunately never been out of work. I had real reason to fear all that could change Dec. 2013 when I was arrested in Burbank for DUI. DUI convi...ctions are “substantially related” to my field, publicized with arrest record on state website for several years which would basically disqualify me from any job I would want to have. My family was shocked and devastated after we received a call that the LAPD had arrested my college enrolled daughter for felony charge for possession of fraudulent credit card, and had taken her to the Van Nuys jail. I had been arrested and wrongly charged with a felony. It was the scariest position I have ever been in my whole life. My entire career was at stake plus my ability to stay in the United States was in the balance. Through the actions of another person my whole future was at stake. I had no one to hel...p as I was completely alone. I knew I had to seek legal help to resolve my situation. I hadn’t had anything to eat for days and was suffering from panic attacks and severe anxiety. In short I was a total wreck.
