I came across Kraut Law Group during my extensive research period shortly after I was charged with a second DUI. As anyone who has gone through this before knows, there are dozens of DUI attorneys out there that are all jockeying for your money once your charges hit the court “wire.” I similarly had ...a mailbox full of flyers, brochures and DVD’s from various practices trying to get me to give them my thousands of dollars to defend me. Because I knew the severity of a possible second DUI on my record both generally as well as in my career, I pored over each of the mailings and did online research with many of them, and had introductory phone calls with a few others. I was pulled over for my DUI in Pasadena, CA, so part of my search for the right defense attorney was to try and find someone that knew that particular jurisdiction and hopefully had experience and success defending clients there. That is how I came across Mike Kraut and his law office. Online research showed that he was very familiar with the Pasadena courthouse and spent many years as an attorney. When i called Mike to learn more information, he gave me a brief introduction to his practice, and asked me to provide my background and summarize the circumstances surrounding my DUI. What really impressed me was that unlike the other attorneys with whom I spoke that tried to “close” me on the very first call and get me to retain them as my defense for several thousand dollars, Mike essentially told me, “I think I can definitely help you, but I would like to meet in person before we move forward or agree that I will defend you.” He told me that the best way to get an idea of what kind of client I would be, and for me to understand what kind of attorney he would be on my behalf, we would need to meet in person and basically get to know each other. Wow. I couldn’t have agreed more! When we met at his office he was extremely welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. We went over the details of my case again, but in more detail, and he laid out what his potential strategy would be and what specifically in my case were the strongest points for my defense. Everything he laid out was very reasonable and made perfect sense. I’m very detail oriented so I always ask questions to understand as much as possible, and Mike was patient and happy to answer everything I asked about. I shared what my biggest concerns were regarding my case and what I most wanted to avoid, and Mike was informative and clear about how he and his staff would do everything possible to put me in the best position to defend my case with respect to my goals. Throughout my case, Mike and his staff kept me updated with everything that was going on and what I could expect during the process. It made me feel very confident that I chose the best team possible for my case, and then Mike informed me that he was able to get my potential second DUI (with a 0.17 breathalyzer reading) dropped down to a wet reckless. That is unheard of! I was so relieved and can’t thank Mike enough. I never even had to show up to court once! They did everything. And, to top it off, during the time Mike was working on my case, I got a red light photo enforced ticket that he told me he would take care of on the house, and he got it dismissed! I couldn’t have asked for better people to work with during what is normally such a difficult and stressful situation. I can’t recommend Kraut Law enough.

Like any other case, I was in a load of trouble. I had just been accepted into medical school and was arrested for a DUI. I literally thought my life was over.
