Michael Eric Kraut

Mike Kraut is an excellent man. I had a terrible DUI accident, totalling my car and crashing 2 other cars in the process. Luckily, and so fortunately, I did not injure or kill anybody but it was bad enough that the worst case senario could have happened. I was hospitalized immediately and releas...ed at 4am in the morning. The next morning, I did not feel like myself and wondered if it all was a dream. I had no pink slip, my license was there, the only indications of reality was my car being gone and my injuries. Without any information on my case, I panicked, and started looking up DUI attorneys and calling them up. Most of them gave me the same package, that it was a serious case, we understand your distress, and we could help you out blah blah. Surprisingly, a few places did not tell me to go see them, and wanted money right away. All the attorneys seemed the same and it worried me even more. Nobody left me at ease as I talked to them. In fact, some left me more distressed when they just listed all the penalties I would be facing as if reading from a book and just called me to go see them. He made me go back to the accident site and take pictures of the curve, ask for witnesses, and try to get them to cooperate. What finally made me comforted was his confidence in his abilities and his air that he has around him just tells you that everything is alright. Mike is also special in that he is a falconer and rodeo rider. I actually walked in right before his short trip to San Fransisco to compete in rodeo riding. I know that someone who can enjoy life like that and also be so confident in his job must be someone with real abilities in his work. I chose Mike Kraut and got off with minimum penalties for a first time DUI. My 9 month alcohol class was reduced to an amazing 3 months. I am really thankful and reassured by the results. I know now after hearing my outcome that I worked with the best attorney on DUIs that I found out of the countless law firms I called and researched. I am really honored to have found him, although I did not want to end up in a situation like this in the first place.

Michael Kraut is capable of working wonders. I had a stupid lapse in judgment that led to the Burbank DA pressing charges against me. Upon receiving the letter stating the charges i was immediately sent into a state of panic. I couldn't believe that i had possibly ruined my life over a few seconds of... stupidity. With a court date approaching quickly, i started searching for help. After much time i decided to call Michael Kraut. When i called i was shocked that he actually answered the phone (i thought someone from his office was going to pick up). He said he was busy in court with a different client, but that he would call me back when he was finished. A few hours later i received a call from Michael, and within two hours of that call i was sitting in his office having a face to face meeting. Let me start by saying that I am a 19 year old Non-US citizen. When I was charged with PC 242 Battery in Hollywood in early 2010 I was absolutely terrified. Within the blink of an eye, I found myself, a longtime professional who had never had a single encounter with police department being arrested on a felony case. After being in jail for 24 hours and then let out on bail, I immediately went to work interviewing over 10 different criminal lawyers on th...e specifics of my case, their experience, rates/terms, and how they would approach my case. I was very close to selecting one of the attorneys i spoke with, until I called a buddy of mine who is a DA in another county. He told me very strongly to make sure which ever criminal attorney I selected to make sure the person was a former prosecutor in LA county. With that advice I proceeded to interview a handful of additional attorney's in LA with prosecutor experience and Mike was one of them. From the moment I spoke to Mike I felt a sense of comfort and relief. He asked the right questions, acted with a sense of urgency, was a straight shooter, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me clear my record and name. I met with Mike within 2 hours of our initial phone conversation and soon after he got to work. Mike immediately began to engage with the police department's senior detective overseeing my case and the police report that was being prepared for the DA's office. With his skill, knowledge, and relationships, he was able to convince the detective to provide him a day or two of more time to supplement the police report with additional information that would help my case and provide the detective evidence that might exonerate me entirely from the case. Within 2 days of meeting with the detective I was dropped from the case. I cannot begin to explain how rare and difficult that accomplishment was. Typically criminal attorney's are preparing to fight for you at arraignments and hearings. A handful of attorney's if they are really good may fight for you at pre-filing phase, meaning they try and convince the DA to drop the case before it is filed officially. It is very, very unusual, - maybe even unheard of - for an attorney to attempt and be successful in having the detective/police department drop a charge prior to even sending the report/case to the DA's for review and processing. No attorney that I spoke with even suggested this was possible let alone suggested attempting. In addition to this, Mike is now working to make sure that the arrest never shows up on my record. Something no other attorney mentioned possible or expressed interest in pursuing. In my view all of this underscores just how special an attorney Mike is. Just in closing, my life was really turned upside down for about around a week. This case could have jeopardized my employment with a top company, my growing business, and most importantly my name and freedom, due to an unfortunate set of circumstances and misunderstandings.
