Biography
Matthew Friedman is a founding partner of the law firm of Ford & Friedman where he focuses primarily in the areas of complex divorce, family law litigation and appellate practice before both the State and Federal Courts. Matthew's wealth of legal, professional and political experience enables him to bring a unique perspective to the practice of law. Matthew is a licensed member of the Nevada State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, District of Nevada and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
As a member of Nevada’s Family Law Bar, Matthew has been widely recognized for his skilled advocacy and legal acumen. Matthew holds an AV - Preminent Rating from Martindale Hubble and has been recognized as a Mountain States "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers from 2014 - 2018. He has been selected as a member of Nevada's “Legal Elite” each year commencing in 2013 by Nevada Business Magazine. The National Academy of Family Law Attorneys has named Mr. Friedman one of Nevada's Top 10 Family Law Attorney's Under age 40. Matthew has also been honored as an Avvo Rated Attorney, receiving an overall rating of “Superb” from peers and former clients. Through years of practice before Clark County’s Family Courts, Matthew has cultivated a distinguished reputation and is respected by the members of Nevada’s Judiciary as well as fellow members of the Nevada Bar. He has amassed extensive litigation and trial experience and developed refined court rooms skills which enable him to assist his clients in navigating the rigors of the family court system. Prior to founding Ford & Friedman, Matthew was a partner at Dawson, Ford & Friedman, a Las Vegas Family Law and Civil Litigation Boutique.
Matthew was raised in Southern Nevada and is a proud product of Nevada’s System of Higher Education. Matthew graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with degrees in Political Public Relations and Philosophy, and received his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to attending law school, Matthew proudly served former Nevada Governor, Kenny C. Guinn, as a speechwriter and public affairs liaison. Upon the conclusion of the Governor's term of office, Mr. Friedman joined the private sector, where he worked in finance before transitioning into the practice of law. Matthew is a member of the Nevada State Bar – Family Law Section, the Clark County Bar Association, the American Bar Association the Cardozo Society of Southern Nevada and the Anti Defamation League (ADL). Matthew frequently lends his time to Southern Nevada’s underprivileged families, working closely with the Clark County Pro Bono Project and Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.
Matthew, his wife Jennifer, and their two sons, Dylan and Jacob, are proud to call Las Vegas their home. When not zealously representing his clients, Mr. Friedman enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, snowboarding, camping, and attending concerts and sporting events.

Mr. Friedman was very helpful throughout the whole legal process with my case. Whenever I had a question either Mr. Friedman or one of the members of his team got back to me very promptly and explained everything in detail. While his services are pricey, you get what you pay for.
