I got pulled over by Salt River PD on a Friday night after having 2 pints with dinner. The officer wouldn't tell me why he pulled me over. He told me to get out of my car and subjected me to his Field Sobriety Test. I thought I passed with flying colors. However, I was handcuffed and arrested.... I blew .153 BAC at the DUI processing van which is an EXTREME DUI. I was infuriated after the arresting officer refused to tell me why he pulled me over and that I blew .153 BA after drinking only 2 beers with dinner that night. I knew something was off. I'm a dentist so I would suffer more undesirable consequences by the AZ dental board if I got convicted of DUI. I have a lot at stake. I researched in the internet to find the best DUI attorney, came across Craig Rosenstein's wonderful reviews on Avvo,and decided to call him. I'm SO glad I did! I was confident I found the right attorney after reading his impressive credentials. I was reassured by the fact the Craig is a DUI specialist and deals with DUI cases only full-time. Our family hired Jefferson a couple years back for a nephew who got in trouble. He took my nephew from a really negative situation and gave him the best possible scenario. I unfortunately had to call Jefferson back recently as I was charged with DUI. The circumstances seemed bleak and I was ready ...to accept my fate. I decided to give Jefferson a call as he did an outstanding job representing my nephew. This decision to gain representation was the best decision I had made. And this was all because Jefferson Simmons!!! He truly believes in the law and believes in the judicial system. He worked for the prosecutor's office for years and then became a defense lawyer. This gave him the ability to know both sides of the field and build relationships in the process. Getting back to my case I was charged with DUI with A blood alcohol content of .13, close to an extreme. I was given a breathalyzer and then then had blood drawn. So as you can see I didn't believe their was any point to getting an attorney. Though the process took a while, once Jefferson received the police report he started to pick it apart. I was pulled over for a so called doorbell ditching scheme. After due diligence Jefferson determined that I was unlawfully pulled over. And in the evidentiary hearing he proved exactly that. It was almost comical how foolish he made the prosecutor look. By the end of the evidentiary hearing it was obvious which side the judge was leaning towards. The officer claimed he pulled me over for not using a blinker on a right hand turn. When Jefferson asked the officer if he thought that was relevant information to put that in a police report The officer did not have a response. Then Jefferson asked "wouldn't this be grounds for a citation?" Again the officer stumbled over his words. Jefferson then even brought up a case from the past where a person was cited for a right hand turn without a blinker and proved that it is not unlawful to not use a blinker if you are not impeding traffic. I held my emotions in the courtroom but felt really good walking out as the judge said she would need time to make a decision. Again, Jefferson being the way he is he didn't leave telling me things like "this is a slam dunk" or "we have this one in the bag." Instead we left with him stating that it can go either way when the judge needs to think it over. At this time I told him regardless of the outcome his performance was BA. He asked what BA was and it told him badass! Even if the judge ruled in favor of the prosecution Jefferson had earned his retainer and was ready to take it to trial. A few days later he called me and accepted the title of BA. With his understanding, belief, and search for truth in the law my case was dismissed. What I recommend Jefferson? To every last person I will ever know who needs an attorney. Would I rehire Jefferson? I pray not, but if needed he will be the first person I call. I truly can't say enough exceptional things about Mr. Simmons so I will leave it saying if hired you know you will be in great hands!

Jefferson was awesome. He was able to find areas in my DUI case. And present them to the prosecutor that resulted in a better plea deal. He kept me informed so I knew what was going on and what the next step was. He was with me through the end including making sure all paperwork was completed correct...ly after the plea was entered. I definitely recommend him!

When working with Jefferson on my case, I found him to be very empathetic, a great listener, and very knowledgable of the laws in Arizona. He was able to take leverage his network and presented the facts in my case which led to a prosecutors decision to dismiss my case entirely!
