Jerry Todd Hannant

I am attorney Jerry T. Hannant and live here locally in Wilmington, NC. My office is located in Downtown Wilmington near the New Hanover County Courthouse and the Juvenile Justice Center. I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Psychology and Political Science. I went to the New England School of Law in Boston, MA for law school and specialized in criminal law. I have worked for the Suffolk County District Attorneys Office, the Suffolk County Public Defenders Office, and the Massachusetts Attorney Generals Office, all located in Boston. I was an Assistant County Attorney for several years in the Maricopa County Attorneys Office, located in Phoenix, AZ where I prosecuted DWI’s, juvenile matters, drug offenses, and a variety of felonies. I have also worked in a large law firm doing criminal defense work, namely Alcock and Associates, also in Phoenix. 

As a former prosecutor and current criminal defense attorney I have seen both sides of the law to gain a complete picture on how to best help my clients. I have a great amount of experience with the criminal justice system and a vast knowledge of how the police operate.

I became a criminal defense attorney because I want to help people. I aspire to be the one person who is on your side and want to help you deal with your case with the least amount of anxiety possible. You will notice that the system is not on your side and it is my job to tip the scale back to the rights that you are afforded to you by our constitution. It is my goal to be more than just an attorney you hired for you case. I aim to be your counsel now and in the future so that you never feel taken advantage of by the police or anyone else.
