After passing the Illinois Bar and Illinois Certified Public Accounting exams in 1990, David Cutler began his legal career combining his legal and financial skills for the benefit of small business and entrepreneurial type clients. He has served as corporate counsel to numerous start-up, mid-size, and public companies. His litigation experience includes bench and jury trials, ranging from tort to corporate and commercial litigation, and includes trademark, employment, shareholder oppression, contract, real estate, consumer fraud and franchise litigation. The testimony to his success is a near 100% long term client retention.

As Cutler & Associates grew, Cutler chose to concentrate his practice in consumer bankruptcy, where his accounting and financial background has earned him respect and appreciation amongst his peers and court trustees alike.

Cutler has served on various non-profit boards and has been recognized and honored by the Chicago Legal Volunteer Services, The Ark and the Chicago Legal Clinic.

In 2020, Cutler joined the Arizona State Bar and works as a partner at Phoenix Fresh Start Bankruptcy, with offices throughout Arizona.

David helped my family!
David and his staff helped me get out of deep debt. Honestly, he was an answer to our family's prayers. The help he provided me and my family is beyond words. I felt trapped by the creditors, but David provided me relief and protection at the time I needed him most. Cutler and Associates are awesome!

Knowledgeable, efficient, and highly recommended!
This firm helped me with my bankruptcy filing in 2015 and I couldn't be happier. They got my filings done, showed up timely to my appearance before the judge, and were so patient with me during a difficult time. Hopefully I never have to use them for a bankruptcy again, but I will sincerely recommend them to a friend in need.

David was excellent! He gave me all my choices upfront and made a great suggestion to me about purchasing a car. Anytime I had a question it was handled in a timely manner and very respectfully and thoughtfully. Excellent service!
From start to finish my experience with David Cutler and his associates was outstanding. David was a great listener and explained what would happen very clearly. Consultation was free. Talked briefly about my case with Stuart over phone. Finally Met with Stuart, he went over all details and filed my case. Withing 3 months my case was discharge. The process was very easy thanks to the firm office, I didn't run into any issues. They were able to work with me and set up monthly payments to cover for fees. Only had to meet with Stuart once, second time with attorney and Judge. Overall they did a great job representing my case. Most importantly in a timely matter. Thank you !

He provided thorough details on how bankruptcy laws work and what would entail to proceed with my mother's case. He was generous with his time and gave my mother and I the information we so needed. My husband had a phone conversation with Mr. Cutler and because of our conflicts with scheduling, we ended up meeting with Stuart Swanson. Stuart was a tremendous help during this process. He tried to make it as painless as possible and quite honestly we feel he succeeded. The office assistants/paralegals were always helpful and let us know when we needed to get our forms in. I believe this firm is well equipped to handle any bankruptcy situation.
