YOU ASK: "HOW DO I KNOW IF SEAN IS THE RIGHT GUY FOR ME?" JUST GIVE ME A CALL AND YOU WILL SEE! :)

Hello!  My name is Sean Druyon.  I am a trial attorney that focuses primarily on defending people's constitutional rights as they relate to criminal charges filed against them.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah obtaining a double major in philosophy (ethics and religion) and speech communication (argumentation and persuasion).  While doing undergrad work I was a local scoutmaster and ran a successful business that consumed 40+ hours of my time per week.  I was the chair of the philosphy student association, and was a student senator and a member of the debate team.  These experiences helped me decide to sell my business and go to law school:  I wanted to help people solve their problems, I wanted to be challenged, and I wanted to have intellectual stimulation.  The legal profession was perfect for me!

I chose to attend at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln because my wife had never lived out of the state of Utah, and we wanted to move out of state so she could try a new experience... but I also wanted to attend a top tiered law school that was not in a metro city since we had small children that we were raising.  Thus....University of Nebraska--Lincoln!!!  It was a top tiered law school and the housing market was great, so we loaded up the U-Haul and off we went!  Did I tell you we ran into a tornado on our way there?!!! Haha.

While in law school I bought a fixer-upper duplex and remodeled it while attending my first year while working another side job while my wife stayed home and took care of the family (her full time job!).   The next year I clerked at the Nebraska Attorney General's office criminal appeals division.  Between my second and third year I clerked for the Second District Court judges in Utah.  My third year I proseucted as a student prosecutor in Nebraska for the city of Lincoln.  I was also heavily involved on the Nebraska Law Review, as I was selected to be an Executive Editor (six editors selected per class) which edits articles written by judges, lawyers, and professors from accross the country.  I decided to write my own article and it was selected to be published that year in the Nebraska Law Review.  That year I was also awarded the prestigious CALI award of Excellence for Legal Profession (reserved for the top student).  I was also the Boy Scout Master during law school in Nebraska as well which gave me time to camp with my scouts and take a break from the rigors of law school!

Since law school I have focused my practice on primarily criminal defense. I enjoy helping others solve their problems.  I don't mind challenging prosecutors when it is appropriate.  Sometimes that means ruffling the judge's feathers as well.  But I try to do it in a respectful, yet confident, mannner.  One Rape of a Child case I handled a few years ago the judge denied my request for the county to pay for a private investigator and a child psychologist expert that we needed for trial.  Rather than argue with her I decided to file an appeal to the Supreme Court.  I won.  See State v. Jeffs, 2011 UT 56 (My case was State v. Davis, 2011 UT 57--a companion case).  That case was a very significant case in that it held that indigent defendants, even though they are represented by private counsel, are still entitled to all the necessary tools to be adequately prepared for trial, even if the State has to pay for those resources if the defendant is indigent.

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and was recently elected to be Secretary.  I have been a member of the legislative and indigent defense committees for the UACDL for the past several years and have spent significant time at Capitol Hill lobbying and testifying regarding various bills that affect our specific clients as well as the general public.

Although it is important for me to excell in the law, I think it is equally important to have a balanced personal life.  I am a father of five, enjoy hiking with my children, taking them to the nearby pond to swing on the tree swing and drop into the water, and camping with them up Farmington Canyon.  I am also a Scoutmaster (third time's a charm!!!) of a local Boy Scout troop in Bountiful and enjoy camping with my scouts each month.  These boys are our future and I enjoy helping them reach their potential.

I also like to participate in triathlons and marathons.  I love running and riding my mountain bike in the mountains in my spare time.  I believe that staying in shape helps me give positive energy to my clients, and helps me better interact with the prosecutors and judges to get my clients the best possible results.  Sometimes clients want to just talk.  I'm ok with that.  Sometimes having a friend who cares can help someone find the motivation to get back on track and be a law abiding citizen again.

That's why I started Utah Freedom Fighters.  I want to fight for your freedoms, whether that is freedom from jail, freedom from sexual or controlled substance addictions, or freedom from unjustified police dominance.  My staff and I are eager to assist you in defending against the charges you are facing and help restore your peace of mind.

great legal counsel
Sean and his staff were extremely helpful to my family and I while going through our DUI hearing. While trying to pick an attorney for my case I spoke to several other attorneys in the area, and told them I would probably go with Sean Druyon. I got the same response every time. "Sean will do a great job for you if that is who you pick." I am glad I went with Sean Druyon. He put my mind at ease when I needed it, and answered any questions I had in an extremely timely fashion. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his team to anyone looking for legal counsel. DUI Case
I was very lucky to find Sean Druyon. He was very easy to work with and had great knowledge of all of the laws and stipulations with DUIs in Utah. He worked very hard on my case and I know without his help defending me I would have ended up in jail and had a DUI on my record. He help me bring my charge down to an Impaired driving and probation time. Very greatful to have had him on my side

Got er done
Sean was exceptional. He seemed to really care about helping me out. I was a little hesitant at first because he was a little bit more than the other attorneys I consulted with but he was worth it.

An upstanding lawyer
Sean was outstanding. He helped me save my medical practice. I was visiting Utah from another state and I got arrested for possession of a firearm by a restricted person just because I had medical marijuana in my system from a few weeks before when I was in Colorado skiing with some associates and we legally smoked. Sean got the entire case dismissed after he filed a few motions. Of the five attorneys my wife and I discussed my case with, Sean was by far the most knowledgeable and the best communicator of them all. After we met with him we decided he was the attorney for us so we sent him a check. But we misunderstood his fee agreement and actually overpaid him $5,000... he called us on the phone and told us we had overpaid...It turned out that we read the portion of the agreement that said if the case could not be resolved prior to trial he would need another $5,000 to cover the anticipated time for the trial. He charged back the $5,000 to our credit card on his own--without us saying anything to him! I was dumbfounded. I've dealt with attorneys for years but I haven't ever had this experience before. I'd highly recommend him.

I got lucky finding Sean ...he was the best I have ever hired!
Sean was the most amazing attorney I have worked with. Yes, unfortunately I have had several prior convictions and that is why I needed to make sure I did my research before hiring him. My other attorneys didn't do squat for me. So I interviewed 8 or 9 other defense attorneys and Sean was by far the best...He listened to my situation and then provided specific things he was going to do for me to help me avoid this felony charge from sticking. He was a little pricier than some of the others, but I wanted to hire the right one this time, not the cheapest one that doesn't do anything they say. At every hearing Sean told me what the game plan was going to be and by the next hearing he would tell me what he got done and what still needed to be done (usually we were waiting for more evidence from the prosecutor that he had supeenaed). In the end Sean was able to get my case dismissed and I didn't lose my license or my job, thank goodness! I would definitely use him again (heaven forbid I get in trouble again).

DUI Charge
I was arrested for DUI in southern Utah. This was my first brush with the law other than minor traffic violations so I was extremely nervous about it and did not know what to expect. I hired Mr Druyon to handle my DUI case & from the day I hired him to the end he reassured me everything was going to be ok & I was over thinking the situation. He was right. He got the charges reduced & took care of everything without my appearance in court, which would of been a eight hour round trip. My only regret is I wished I would of stayed out of his way more & let him do what he does best, which is represent his client. Thanks Sean!!!

Excellent Attorney
I interviewed several attorney's to represent me in a justice court case. I was guilty and extremely embarrassed about my offense and wanted desperately to get the process and offense behind me. Sean was extremely understanding and was very helpful both personally and professionally. He followed up with me consistently to make sure I was getting the support and the resources I needed to help me in my personal life. He also did a stellar job in representing me and was able to come to resolution where no offense will ever show on my record. I would recommend Sean to anyone seeking a defense attorney. Just interview and you will see the difference.

Outstanding Results!
Sean did a terrific job with my case! Upon first meeting him, he made me feel comfortable and told me everything was going to be okay. He was right! My particular case was a DUI under controlled possession. First, Sean was successful in representing me during the DMV hearing and I received NO ACTION, so my license did not get suspended. Then, he did everything he could to fight for me so that I would not end up with this on my record. Sean was able to negotiate a 'plea in abeyance' deal where I comply with some terms, and then after a year, my case gets DISMISSED and my record stays clean! I'm extremely happy with my results and Sean was very professional and kept me informed every step of the way. I would call his office quite often and I would always get a prompt response with all the information I was asking about. Sean and his team took a very difficult experience for me and made it better. I'm very grateful for all of his hard work! Great lawyer who isn't scared to fight for your defense!

Best attorney
I contacted Sean shortly after my first DUI. I knew right away that I wanted him to be my attorney. Sean was very genuine, personable, and honest. All of his staff were great to work with as well. Sean is an expert with DUI laws in Utah. I'm so glad I had him on my side in court. I would recommend Sean to anyone

Simply the BEST!
After looking into several different attorneys and reading hundreds of reviews, I decided to go with Sean Druyon. And I am SO happy that I did! He always had my back and I didn't doubt him for one second... He always answered any question that I had very quickly and very thoroughly. Sean is a brilliant lawyer and his team is just as hard working as he is. He got my 2nd DUI charge dropped to an impaired with minimal fines etc. I never plan on needing a lawyer again, but if I did, I would not hesitate to call Sean!! I highly recommend Sean Druyon. He is the best!

The Results Speak for Themselves!
I found Sean on this website, along with many other attorneys, and after reading the client reviews and the other attorney reviews, I decided to give him a call too. I spoke with several attorneys, and Sean got me into his office the night I called. My case was potentially devastating to my personal/family life, not to mention the future of the record. Sean took care of everything from Pre-Filing (got the charge reduced significantly prior to filing) and then was able to get a great outcome in court, so that within a week, this will not even be on my record. Its hard to decide who to go with after reading reviews, and seeing what everyone says, I can tell you I was DEFINITELY happy with the results that Sean got, and would recommend him to anyone.

Great Attorney!!!
Sean is an outstanding attorney who we completely trusted, endorsed and are forever indebted to. Sean provided quality legal representation in our case and helped us win our 14 month old baby daughter back from the zealous hands of DCFS who falsely accused the father of physical child abuse despite all the clear and convincing evidence of metabolic bone disease. Throughout this frustrating process, not only Sean communicated effectively with us and our medical experts, he provided us with clear and accurate information at each step in the legal process as well as responded promptly to our inquiries in order to fully prepare us for our hearings and Trial. During trial, Sean stayed calm, courteous yet very aggressive in his approach to the state witnesses and the opposing counsels. He came fully prepared during trial, put in countless hours to become familiar with the case and have his questions and evidence ready to attack the state witnesses. Sean was very effective with his evidence based approach which allowed the judge to see the truth of the matter. During trial and throughout the juvenile court process, Sean showed his integrity, professionalism and his compassion towards our family. The fact that we entrusted him with our most valuable possession -our baby girl- which says louder than any reviews we can write about him. After trial, Sean stayed connected, checking in with us to see how we were doing, letting us know time and date of the verdict. In the conference room before the verdict, Sean explained all the possible outcomes and prayed with us for a positive outcome. We are truly blessed to know Sean and have him represented us in our case. Sean went above and beyond his duty of an attorney in our case. He busted tears of joy as the judge announced our baby to return home immediately in his final verdict and went with us to take our baby home from state foster care. He welcomed us in his home to celebrate our winning and the unification of our family. Because of his professionalism, integrity, compassion, our daughter was able to return from the hands of zealous DCFS to her loving family. He is truly our hero!

Ernie
Hi this is Ernie and me and my family have needed Mr.Druyon on a few different times if you need a honest hard working lawyer this is your man he treats you with honesty and respect he gets all your info and does not jump to judgment he is easy to get in touch with so you can always talk direct to unlike others that you always talk to a third party so you never know whats going on I know for a DUI lawyer he is the best and when I have had other issues he has given us advise as a friend would with no charge just for talking to.So what me and my family have learned is Mr. Druyon is the best and if any of my family had a major issue I would trust my familys outcome with the court system in his hands and I know he would do whatever he could to make sure the results would be in your best interest so don't waist your money on any one else and gamble with your life hire the best and in my opinion that is Mr.Sean B Duyon

Excellent attorney!!
Sean Druyon has been working with my boyfriend and I on our case for the past year or so and he has been very professional and helpful. He has gone out of his way to go above and beyond what he was hired to do and we have been very pleased with his assistance. Very reasonable prices as well.

1st Lawyer Nightmare!
Sean only cares about his money, so make sure you pay him in increments so he will do his job! I paid him up front and he made his judgment on the case before the judge made the judgement and then he got his deal from the prosecuting attorney what he wanted not what we wanted! Sean ignored the facts in the case, and the flaws in the case were relevant to law but Sean said they didnt matter but thats only because he made his judgement on the case as if he was a judge! I paid him up front and that was a mistake I should of paid him in increments so he would of worked for his money because thats all he cared about in our case! I will never recommend Sean to anyone. He told me flat out ( Quote) Im working on another case and it takes precedence over yours), I still wonder if I didnt pay Sean everything up front if my case would of went another direction or if it would of taken precedence for him to focus on. Ive heard of Lawyer Nightmare cases but Ive never experienced it and now that I have it sucks that it was my money that went out the window. I hope there isnt a next time but pay your lawyers in increments so they will actually work for you!

Response from Sean Druyon September 18, 2015
I am sorry you were unsatisfied, sir. I try to do everything possible to make my clients happy. If you would have given me a little more notice on not being able to make it to trial I may have gotten a continuance for you. You told me from the beginning your number one priority was to keep your license and I did everything I could to prepare for and conduct your driver's license hearing. Unfortunately the hearing officer found that the police officer's testimony more credible than your's. I cannot guarantee I will win every case. The only thing I can guarantee is that I will work as hard as possible on each case and I felt I was fully prepared for your hearing. After we lost I told you we still had a shot of getting your license reduced if we appealed within thirty days; I told you this was the only chance we had to get the suspension time reduced from 18 months to four months or less. You said that you agreed to this approach and the appeal cost. We then called you several times to collect the filing fee but you did not return our calls. We then paid the $360 filing fee for you to preserve your appeal right since you had not called us back yet and the deadline was fast approaching. Afterwards I successfully convinced the attorney general to reduce your suspension from 18 months to just four months. When we finally got a hold of you you told me this was acceptable. Then after I successfully got the DUI dismissed in the criminal court you called me back and told me you had changed your mind about the driver's license appeal and wanted to have an appeal trial. I told you I was happy to do whatever you wanted me to do but advised you to take this resolution because it would be the only way to get your license suspension reduced. You said you understood but didn't care and wanted to try to get no suspension time at all. You never paid the filing fee or paid for the appeal costs despite you telling us you would if we filed the appeal. We called you a half dozen times or so to prepare for the appeal trial and follow up with you on paying for your appeal trial and you would not return our calls. We prepared for the appeal trial anyways in good faith that you would at least start making payments as you initially told us you would. Then you called us the day before trial to tell us you could not fly in to Utah due to your work and asked us to continue the trial which the court would not permit. Had you informed us earlier we might have been able to get a continuance. I incurred expenses preparing for trial and paying for the appeal but by you not showing for your own trial meant we lost. You paid $2,500 up front for your DUI criminal case but as the paperwork states and as you and I discussed, the civil Driver's License appeal would be extra. You did not pay the filing fee or the legal fees for the appeal. I paid the filing fee for you out of my own pocket, then I spent all the time preparing for the appeal trial and then you no showed. You have not paid me anything for all the trial work and the travel time to Vernal (it is 240 miles away from my office) and the trial time either, which is several thousand, so I am not sure why you say I care only about the money. If I did I wouldn't have filed the filing fee out of my own pocket and continued preparing for and going to the trial when you hadn't even been making any payments like you said you would. I'm sorry you have a suspended license for 18 months but I did get the DUI dismissed and we could have had your license suspension down to just 4 months had you taken my advice. I am willing to write off a portion of your outstanding balance just to try to alleviate some of your stress if that helps.
