Board Certified in Criminal Law, AV Rated, tried over 100 jury trials and a published author, I wrote the book on DWI and Criminal law defense. Before you talk to ANY lawyer get a copy of my DWI Survival Guide, A Citizen's Protection Manual for a DWI Arrest. While other lawyers "advertise" experience I will show you how my trial experience of over 100 trials can help in your case.
Because my practice focuses on DWI defense and criminal law, I often speak and lecture to other lawyers about how to try a DWI case. Local media in cases and issues involving DWI or other intoxication issues has interviewed me.
My goal is to focus on each case that I take and provide personal client attention. I try more cases in a year than most criminal lawyers try in ten years and I believe that is for several reasons. First, I like my clients. If I can help them in their time of stress I want to do whatever I can. Second, I like trials. I enjoy the stress that comes with being in trial. I believe that when I walk in that courtroom, as arrogant as this might sound, I am in charge and the goal is to help my client.

What I would like to say has nothing dealing with the Lawyer. I hired this firm in 2023 for Terroristic Threat Cause Fear of Imminent Serious Bodily Injury. The Lawyer who was on my case, told me with my evidence that he would get the case dismissed. I only meet him once. After that it was different...

Stephen Hamilton was able to get my 2nd ARP dropped for felony DWI. Which was nothing short of a miracle. He's the strongest DWI attorney in the field by far. I most definitely recommend him for anyone that's in need of a DWI attorney. Best in the biz.

Very helpful through whole ordeal. Communication A-plus highly recommend. Made the process very easy and comforting.

Chase, from Hamilton Grant did an awesome job helping a friend get a Felony 2 marijuana charge down to a Misdemeanor B. We couldn’t be any happier. He made this stressful situation a lot smoother by always being available to answer questions that we would have. His hard work showed with the great re...

I had two different legal issues that I was facing and was terrified of the potential outcomes. However Mr. Hamilton and his firm/practice were beyond amazing and I never had to step into court personally until the sentencing / end of my case. He is literally the best lawyer in Lubbock he got me an o...
"Stephen Hamilton is a rare talent. As a board certified criminal law specialist, Steve's knowledge of the law places him in the top 1% of our profession. His creativity, drive, intelligence and trial skills place him even higher than that. As a colleague and fellow criminal defense lawyer I am very familiar with Steve's courtroom ability, particularly in the area of DWI defense. I honestly can't think of a better DWI lawyer in all of West Texas."
"Attorney Hamilton is a trial lawyer. He does not shy away from trials like a lot of other attorneys do. He has the necessary skillset to not only try the cases, but to try them well and to win. He uses his reputation, knowledge and experience to maximize the chances of obtaining a favorable result for those who trust him with their cases. He is a superior advocate and a man who believes in hard work and dedication. As a potential new client, you would do well in hiring him."
"I am blessed to be working for Stephen Hamilton. He is a trial attorney in every sense of the word. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated to working tirelessly to help his clients achieve a great outcome. I cannot recommend Stephen highly enough."
"Stephen is an accomplished attorney in the field of criminal defense and is the only Board Certified attorney practicing in the area of DWI in the Lubbock area. He is known for being tough in the court room which carries a lot of weight in the process of negotiation before trial. The courts in Lubbock and surrounding counties know that this is a lawyer who isn't simply taking money to plea bargain without the chops to go all the way to trial - that means something when it comes time to get the best deal you can in your circumstances."
"Stephen is an excellent attorney committed to providing the highest quality representation to clients. I endorse this attorney without reservation."
"One of the absolute best. Exceptional attention to detail, service next to none. I endorse this lawyer."
"As a practicing attorney for over 33 years, I have learned to spot excellence in the legal profession. Stephen Hamilton is just such an attorney. If you or a family member has DWI related needs in Texas, there is one attorney you should call: Stephen Hamilton. In addition to numerous legal and safety certifications, his knowledge is so thorough on DWI/DUI that he literally wrote a book on the subject (make sure you get a copy of the Texas DWI Survival Guide). DUI/DWI law raises complex legal issues and you must have someone like Stephen in your corner working to protect your legal rights."
"I endorse Stephen Hamilton. Hard working and aggressive attorney who is dedicated to the success of his clients. Respected by his colleagues within the legal community."
"Stephen is an excellent attorney and committed to doing what is right for his clients. He is always stepping up with good insight, and I am proud to endorse Stephen."
"I endorse this lawyer. He's a well respected and precise DUI lawyer. He's always prepared and highly regarded in the legal community."
"Stephen L. Hamilton is a very knowledgeable attorney with many years worth of experience in practice."
"I wholeheartedly endorse this lawyer. A top-notch attorney, highly respected in the legal community."
"I endorse this lawyer. If I have clients who have issues in Lubbock I would not hesitate to send them to Mr. Hamilton."
