The Best!!!
I was falsely accused of assault and arrested. Due to this I lost my job. John was so comforting and continued to assure me that everything would we worked out. Thanks to him the case was dismissed and my record was expunged. What seemed like the end of the world at the time is now being worked out!

Felony DWI - Got It Reduced
I retained John Hunter Smith to provide consultation for a Felony DWI that I was charged - John worked with prosecutor to get it reduced to a Misdemeanor - 2nd which was the correct charge. I highly recommend John Hunter Smith for any DWI/DUI Issues that present themselves to you in your are in the Texoma Area. John provided monthly updates as to the status of my case, provided excellent consultations once I was charged, and helped me from becoming a Felon which would have had a severely adverse effect on my career. Thank You John Hunter Smith.

Amazing Attorney!!
I was horrified when I was indicted on federal charges. I contacted John Hunter Smith’s office and he made time for me to come see him the same day. He never made promises and was realistic with me from the very beginning. The entire process took a little over a year and John and his office stayed in contact with me regularly. John went above and beyond and the deal he was able to obtain for me was amazing. He literally saved my life!!

Honest and Results Driven
John listened to my case and began to go over scenarios. Once facts of case were in built a solid counter argument to charges, so much so that charges were dropped! He was straight forward, no nonsense, and open about my case with me. He told me what he expected to happen, then fought to make it happen. If you are convicted with a DWI/DUI contact John before you do anything else. I was extremely pleased that I did.

Best Attorney in Texas!
I am on parole for a possession of a controlled substance case that happened 18 years ago. Last year I was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, over 4g under 200g and immediately bonded out. I contacted John, informed him that a blue warrant was issued for me and that I needed the BEST legal representation Texas had to offer, he assured me I came to the right place. He had already been recommended by many other Texas attorneys. The Grand Jury handed down an indictment of only Possession of a controlled substance, but it was STILL a 1st degree felony and I was on parole, which means I was facing 25 years to LIFE in prison with an enhancement. In the 5 months before my arraignment John diligently worked to find the best outcome and gave me sound legal advice that helped me wrap up all my business and personal affairs in preparation for the inevitable, time back in prison. Miraculously, John was able to get my charge reduced to Possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram, a State Jail Felony, which was THEN reduced to a Class A misdemeanor, (1244B) punishable by up to 365 days in jail. When I went to court the morning of my arraignment I was at the mercy of John Hunter Smith's legal representation, I had to trust his plan and hope he would do what he said he could do, but at the time of arraignment, still had a 1st degree felony. I was arrested that morning of arraignment on the parole violation (Blue Warrant) and 46 days later John took me before the Judge to sign for 46 days time served, on a Class A misdemeanor. 14 days later my parole was reinstated and I was released back on supervision! So to put my miraculous situation into perspective, when I walked into John's office with a Manufacture/Delivery of over 4 grams charge, on parole, he told me he was the BEST attorney for the case, but he was completely "by-the-book" and refused top do anything "underhanded". I retained him on his word. Seven months later I walked out of jail after serving 60 days total and only a new misdemeanor on my record! I will be forever grateful for John and his paralegal April for giving me another chance at life.

Knowledgable and Brilliant
Mr. Smith was my representative during the time of my case. His staff and himself were always helpful with any questions or advice I needed. John told me during the earlier days that if I would listen to him and follow his instruction, we would be successful in our case. I did everything he asked of me along the way, and my case turned out with the best possible outcome. I could not have asked for anymore from Mr. Smith and his team. Thank you so much for your help along the way. -C.T.

DUI NOT GUILTY
After 2 years wasting time with my first attorney I found John Hunter. One of the best decisions of my life, literally. Within 2 months of taking my case, he took it to trial and we won! EVEN in Collin County. I can’t say enough about him and his team. He practiced what he preached. Made me feel like his only client and studied my case thoroughly, knew it inside and out. He gets my highest recommendation.

John Hunter Smith is THE attorney you want on your side!
I was faced with a charge of sexual assault. From the beginning, John Hunter knew exactly what needed to happen to help me fight this horrific false allegation. John immediately began organizing a game plan and put all of his experience and resources to work. He knew who to get involved in my case including a phycologist, private detective and other expert witnesses. This was a long battle with the DA’s office. John Hunter knew a lot of work was going to have to happen in my case for the truth to prevail. He worked hard on my case for several months. I knew if John Hunter was working by the hour, the retainer we agreed on up front would have run out long before the charges against me were dismissed. But, John Hunter was so passionate about my case that he worked just as hard at the end of the case as he did at the beginning. I spent months in the court house watching the same people. Defendants with their defense lawyers. Fishing for plea deals and getting passes until the following month. Not me, I was prepared to fight to the end and truth would prevail. I had that confidence because John Hunter Smith was right there, hand in hand with me every step of the way. I cannot express enough gratitude about the effort John Hunter put into helping me fight this false allegation. The sexual assault charges against me were dismissed 1 week before my jury trial began. If you hire John Hunter Smith to represent you, you will know exactly what you are facing. The good and the bad. Worst case scenarios and best case scenarios. John Hunter will make you prepared for the worst, but you will have the confidence to know that the best is the only acceptable outcome. I will save you the uncertainty of looking for and hoping to find the right criminal defense attorney. The rest of your life might weigh in the balance as mine did. If you choose John Hunter Smith you will not regret your decision.

Great Attorney
Mr Smith was my attorney in a felony case where i was facing jail time. Mr Smith took time and spent time with me to go over every aspect of my case, he also worked diligently in getting things in my past in another state thrown out. He is very detailed and meticulous in his work and is a very skilled trial attorney. He is very honest and upfront about everything and he follows through on his word. He was a life saver for me and he also has a assistant named April who was very kind and assisting. The whole staff there are very accommodating and even his Partner Mr. Wynne even came by and helped with jury selection and that was something i was also very appreciative of. I would recommend Mr Smith to anyone looking for a honest and compassionate attorney. Thank you for everything Mr. Smith

The Best Criminal Defense Lawyer
John Hunter Smith has been a blessing to my family. I highly recommend his services. Not only him but all his staff was amazing. He is truly committed to his job and is very passionate about what he does. I never had any doubts about my Fathers case; he was very honest with me and always looked out for our best interest. He is the type of attorney you know will do everything he can to defend you and he makes sure you know that as his client. We were looking at 25 years or more in federal prison. In about 7 months after hiring John my dad was home. I know that every case different but I was thrilled with the outcome.
