To be frank, the legal system is incredibly re-victimizing for survivors of abuse. Ilana went above and beyond in my case. It was incredibly difficult and mentally taxing. She went for more than I thought we could, and won. She is not the obvious brash bull-dog lawyer, but calculating, intelligent and relentless. I much prefer the genuine kindness and help she gave, than faked ferocity or promises that fall short. Everyone in her office met me with compassion on horribly dark days and stood by me while I persevered throughout the case.

I had little time to find a lawyer, and Ilana was recommended by another law firm who didn't do mediation. So glad I found her. In our initial meeting, she knew opposing council well and it showed later in the process. She also knew my previous lawyer and pegged that one pretty accurately. When all was finished, she took out her notes from our initial meeting that listed all the items I stated I had hoped to get, and she checked off each one. Done. Her office staff is pleasant to deal with, as is Ilana herself. But she is definitely no pushover.
