I would like to share my experience with Ilana Tanner. On the one hand, Ilana is genuinely compassionate and understanding, traits that are invaluable in a lawyer. She certainly shows a commitment to her clients, and I appreciated her empathy during some challenging times. However, I must caution ...potential clients about a few issues I encountered. While her services are priced at a premium, I faced several discrepancies in her billing. There were numerous instances of unclear and unnecessary communication that resulted in over $1,200 in charges, which Ilana herself acknowledged should not have occurred. Despite her apology, the billing remained unchanged, and it took over a month for her to respond to my inquiries regarding these discrepancies. Additionally, I found that the communication from her paralegal was often unclear and lacked kindness. The effectiveness of a lawyer can be heavily influenced by their support staff, and in this case, it posed challenges in our interactions. Lastly, when I concluded my engagement with her services, I was concerned by the impression left with the opposing counsel. They seemed to believe I had no evidence and mischaracterized my intentions in the case, which centered around breaches in our custodial agreement and the well-being of our child. I don't understand how this misunderstanding could have occurred given the conversations Ilana had with them. In summary, while Ilana Tanner has admirable qualities and a compassionate demeanor, I believe potential clients should carefully consider the financial aspects and communication efficiency of her practice before making a decision.

I had little time to find a lawyer, and Ilana was recommended by another law firm who didn't do mediation. So glad I found her. In our initial meeting, she knew opposing council well and it showed later in the process. She also knew my previous lawyer and pegged that one pretty accurately. When al...l was finished, she took out her notes from our initial meeting that listed all the items I stated I had hoped to get, and she checked off each one. Done. Her office staff is pleasant to deal with, as is Ilana herself. But she is definitely no pushover.
