Ms. Donnica Blackful was referred to me by one of her clients. I am delighted I hired her. She represented me very well in court regarding child support and fought for the best interest of my child. She is very knowledgeable about the law and the court system. She thinks fast on her feet. Ms. Blackful was extremely tenacious through obstacle after obstacle during my case. Then, the pandemic and the shutting down of courts due to Covid 19, didn’t make things any easier. However, in the end, she got me what I was asking for. The right to see my only daughter on a regular basis without ...continual harassment from the other party and the ability to bypass the lackadaisical attitude of law enforcement to enforce what were my current court orders prior to hiring her. She doesn’t put up with nonsense from unwilling coparent parties or their attorneys. She is an extremely hard worker for her clients and I would definitely recommend her to my friends or anyone who has a difficult domestic or custody situation where you know you have rights that are currently being violated as far as your child(ren) by the other parent and/or step parent. She knows the laws in Texas and tells it how it is, even if it’s not always what you want to hear. She’s a straight shooter. And I respect that about her. Ultimately, I would work with her again.

Going through an uncontested divorce is a complete nightmare when you have absolutely no clue about the law. With COVID restrictions and lack of REAL helpful resources (despite what texaslawhelp tells you), I was going through several hoops just to understand what I needed to do next to complete the ...process by myself. After 2 dismissed court hearings, I was in tears and ready to give up. I was referred to Ms. Blackful by a friend who suggested I give her a call because she is fast with response and results and also affordable. Not only was she was quick to assist but she understood the situation right away without me having to go into much detail. She helped me with my divorce and was a complete blessing! With a divorce comes lots of emotions and uncertainty, but Donnica made the process easy and worry free. She was very professional, patient, and answered all of my questions. At first Donnica was there for me and seemed really focused on helping me handle my divorce sooner rather than later. Initially she did everything right and got the petition filed right away. Covid did interrupt the courts a lot. My papers were filed in June but I got nothing again. In August when my... soon to be ex was finally served. I have been calling and leaving messages and go nothing. She started to be really short and seemed irritated when I would call for an update (every 2 weeks). Now I can’t even get her or any of her assistants to pick up the phone or call me back. It’s like she stopped caring because next month will be a year since we filed and NOTHING. Get someone who actually has your best interest in mind vs dragging out something that would be “so easy”.
