Extraordinarily talented attorney, BUT....

Mr. Jackson is one of the best, if not THE very best, litigators in Montgomery County. He's a bit of a legend in the Texas Legal Community; I have a friend who is a young lawyer just recently starting out, and when he heard I was using Steve Jackson as my attorney, he said "oh wow, you got the best ...of the best." There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Jackson got the absolute best deal possible for me. He really put the screws to my ex-husband, finding every legal loophole and advantage. Watching him cross examine an opposing witness is truly a sight to behold, I actually found myself pitying my awful ex at certain moments. So if Mr. Jackson did such a great job, why is my review only three stars? Well, the bad news is that although he will be a zealous advocate in your defense, he will also apply his prodigious talents to finding and extracting every last nickel from your pockets. The man is utterly rapacious. He will walk right up to the line of what's ethical for an attorney and use what he can in order to bill you enormous sums. It was so bad that by the end of my divorce, I wasn't sure who I hated more, my ex or Mr. Jackson. It's not just a matter of him being more expensive on an hourly rate than other lawyers (although he is.) And it's not just a matter that his retainer is two or three or four times that of other lawyers (although it is.) But he will also nickel and dime you for every last little imaginable thing, like his office staff grabbing you a coffee or answering the phone. Did he send you a text message reminding you of an upcoming court date? Congratulations, that's his minimum charge of 10 minutes of time, that'll be $125 please. Did you text him back "thanks"? Well that's another $125 for him to read the message. I understand legal fees aren't cheap and you get what you pay for, but Mr. Jackson will use his knowledge (which you are required to give him in a divorce case) of how much money you have and where your accounts are located and what kind of job you have in order to convert as much as possible of your assets into his. You have been warned. So altogether, is he worth it? Well, if he's three times as good as the average lawyer but he's eight times as expensive, that's not a proportionate return on the investment, now is it? Now, if you are a mafia kingpin or serial killer facing life imprisonment or death row, or if you are a multimillionaire and there are millions of dollars at risk in your divorce? Yeah, then it's probably worthwhile to write a six figure check to Mr. Jackson. But for the rest of us mere mortals, maybe an attorney 80% as good at one-third the price would suffice.

Professional, Knowledgeable, Compassionate Attorney

As a referral from friend, I hired Stephen Jackson to represent me in my divorce. Stephen and his firm handled my case with the upmost professionalism, knowledge of family law, and sensitivity. My experience with Stephen Jackson and his staff was extremely positive. Stephen's follow through with comm...unication and documentation was commendable. While going through the process of mediation, negotiations, potential trail then final settlement, Stephen gave me confidence that my case was being addressed in the best way possible. Stephen is a strong, fearless, compassionate and very well-versed attorney. I would without a doubt highly recommend Stephen Jackson.

Legal Magician

TALENT: I never have met a more talented attorney. I grew up in the court room and have had the pleasure of meeting some amazing attorneys over the years with some incredible set of skills. Mr. Jackson’s knowledge and talent exceeds everything I have previously seen. I’m still amazed how he h...ammered the other side every hearing. We would get in the court room and he transform into a legal robot. Every objection he threw out was sustained. He quoted laws better than a Southern Baptist Preacher can quote Bible Verses on Sunday Morning. He strategized every step of the way and watched the opposing side fall into the trap every time. Family, Criminal and Civil: My case started off as a simple divorce with child custody. During the midst of my pending divorce my spouse decided to allege criminal allegations in an attempt to get the upper hand. These allegations resulted in an open CPS case and a Conroe Police Department Investigation. Mr. Jackson handled both of these issues for me which were closed with no findings/charges brought against me. The allegations were so egregious we decided to file a civil suit. He superseded all my expectations in Family, Criminal, and Civil Law. STAFF When you hire Mr. Jackson you’re not only getting him. You are getting an entire legal team. I have had the pleasure of working with his staff over the course of a year now and I have nothing but great things to say about each and every one of them. From the moment I retained him each staff member greeted me when I walked in the door by my name. Yes, they knew my name immediately. His law firm employs some of the nicest/kindest people I’ve ever met. They stayed by my side and assured me I was not alone through this difficult process. They called me just to check on me regularly. Fees: Can you find a cheaper attorney? YES. Can you find a better attorney? NO! There is an old saying, “you get what you pay for.” This cannot be truer. PAY HIM! When your case is over you will be happy you did.

Best Attorney and Firm!

Jackson Law Firm did a fascinating job handling my child custody case. It was a very long case with lots of issues that they worked through. The attention to detail that the Jackson Law Firm provided (both Steve and Meredith) was outstanding. They won my case because of the time and effort they pu...t into preparing for trial. I was able to reach them 7 days a week and at all hours of the day and night. Steve worked extremely hard and long hours to ensure he knew every detail of the case and it showed during the 5 day trial. It felt like I wasn't just another client to them, but a part of their family. They understood my concerns and the need to change the custody situation of my child. I will definitely hire Steve again in the future if needed.

Child custody

Steve and his entire team are by far the most skilled and respected in their profession for the area. I have used him twice since my divorce for custody modifications, both times he moved mountains. Can’t say enough good things about him and his team.

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"Fear is the biggest obstacle that keeps many lawyers from becoming great. As a law student, I was very fortunate the Steve gave me a chance to work under him. We worked on hundreds of cases together. Many of those cases were unwinnable for the vast majority of lawyers. However, with fearlessness and great preparation, we won the most impossible of criminal trials. I learned that to be great, an attorney must out prepare the other side, and be fearless. In a criminal trial, the defense attorney only gets one chance to make a mark upon the jury. The greatest lawyers know when and how to make such a mark. Over the years Steve and I continue to collaborate on cases together and his exemplary skill level has not diminished. Most importantly, he remains fearless."

"I endorse this lawyer. He and I worked together on a very contentious case involving both criminal and family law matters. He was always professional, prepared, and most importantly zealous in his advocacy for our client. I’m a better attorney for having worked with him on that case."
