Top of the Line!

I never thought I’d get married only to end up going through a divorce, but things happen. I was in a really tough relationship, and for a long time I felt unheard and unprotected. When everything finally hit the point where I needed someone to truly listen and stand up for me and my little one, I’m ...so grateful I found Steve. He’s handling my cases for me right now, and let me just say, he is incredible. He does not play around in the courtroom. When he stands up with an “Objection,” followed by the exact law codes to back it up, I’m highly impressed every time! He stays fully up to date on current changes in the law, which has made a tremendous difference in my case (HUGE DIFFERENCE). I finally feel like I have someone fighting for us with knowledge, strength, and compassion. I also want to shout out his associate attorney, Cory B. She’s been just as supportive and attentive. She’s always answered my questions and texts, stayed on top of all my court updates, and made sure I understood what was happening every step of the way. Her communication and professionalism have honestly brought me so much peace during such a stressful time. Together, they make an amazing team, and I feel fully protected and well represented.

To the finish line.

The representation that we required to get our case to the finish line and to have a fair shake against the opposing side required what we believe only Mr. Jackson could provide and that is EXACTLY what he and his team did for our family. This review is a given to be a 5 star for we are sure that t...he outcome of this case would have been far different and not even close to fair without his assistance. I'm sure there are plenty of attorneys that can do a good job but when the outcome can have effects that last for many years make sure you choose wisely as we feel we did.

Owns Tracey Gilbert!!!

When I first started working with Steve, his paralegal assured me that Steve "owns" Judge Gilbert. I didn't know why until I looked up the situation online and realized that Steve got Tracey out of 200k of child support! To be frank, I needed that relationship because my ex-husband had audio of me hi...tting and screaming at our children. He knew that wouldn't play well in court so Steve continued to string the proceedings along knowing my ex-husband didn't have the financial ability to keep fighting for custody. So why not 5 stars? While I appreciate Steve gaming the system to my advantage, he also withheld the fact that he has cancer and often wouldn't respond to my communications or complete necessary tasks. He'd lie and say it was the opposing counsel's fault until his paralegal let it slip about his condition.

Extraordinarily talented attorney, BUT....

Mr. Jackson is one of the best, if not THE very best, litigators in Montgomery County. He's a bit of a legend in the Texas Legal Community; I have a friend who is a young lawyer just recently starting out, and when he heard I was using Steve Jackson as my attorney, he said "oh wow, you got the best ...of the best." There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Jackson got the absolute best deal possible for me. He really put the screws to my ex-husband, finding every legal loophole and advantage. Watching him cross examine an opposing witness is truly a sight to behold, I actually found myself pitying my awful ex at certain moments. So if Mr. Jackson did such a great job, why is my review only three stars? Well, the bad news is that although he will be a zealous advocate in your defense, he will also apply his prodigious talents to finding and extracting every last nickel from your pockets. The man is utterly rapacious. He will walk right up to the line of what's ethical for an attorney and use what he can in order to bill you enormous sums. It was so bad that by the end of my divorce, I wasn't sure who I hated more, my ex or Mr. Jackson. It's not just a matter of him being more expensive on an hourly rate than other lawyers (although he is.) And it's not just a matter that his retainer is two or three or four times that of other lawyers (although it is.) But he will also nickel and dime you for every last little imaginable thing, like his office staff grabbing you a coffee or answering the phone. Did he send you a text message reminding you of an upcoming court date? Congratulations, that's his minimum charge of 10 minutes of time, that'll be $125 please. Did you text him back "thanks"? Well that's another $125 for him to read the message. I understand legal fees aren't cheap and you get what you pay for, but Mr. Jackson will use his knowledge (which you are required to give him in a divorce case) of how much money you have and where your accounts are located and what kind of job you have in order to convert as much as possible of your assets into his. You have been warned. So altogether, is he worth it? Well, if he's three times as good as the average lawyer but he's eight times as expensive, that's not a proportionate return on the investment, now is it? Now, if you are a mafia kingpin or serial killer facing life imprisonment or death row, or if you are a multimillionaire and there are millions of dollars at risk in your divorce? Yeah, then it's probably worthwhile to write a six figure check to Mr. Jackson. But for the rest of us mere mortals, maybe an attorney 80% as good at one-third the price would suffice.

Look no further. He is the best!

I hired him for a felony case, and I am beyond thrilled to share that my case was dismissed. From the very beginning, Stephen demonstrated immense expertise, professionalism, and dedication. He took the time to fully understand the details of my case and offered sound legal guidance every step of the... way. What truly stood out was the amazing support I received from his team, especially Dillon and Carla. They were always available to answer my questions and concerns, ensuring I was kept informed throughout the process. Their communication and attention to detail were top-notch, which made the entire experience much less stressful. Thanks to Stephen Jackson and his fantastic staff, I can now move forward with peace of mind. If you’re in need of legal representation, look no further. You’ll be in great hands!

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"Fear is the biggest obstacle that keeps many lawyers from becoming great. As a law student, I was very fortunate the Steve gave me a chance to work under him. We worked on hundreds of cases together. Many of those cases were unwinnable for the vast majority of lawyers. However, with fearlessness and great preparation, we won the most impossible of criminal trials. I learned that to be great, an attorney must out prepare the other side, and be fearless. In a criminal trial, the defense attorney only gets one chance to make a mark upon the jury. The greatest lawyers know when and how to make such a mark. Over the years Steve and I continue to collaborate on cases together and his exemplary skill level has not diminished. Most importantly, he remains fearless."
